I LOVE MY BLENDTEC!
I LOVE MY BLENDTEC! I use it for everything! I make smoothies for breakfast in it, guacamole, cake mix, whole juice for my 2year old. When I have my next baby, I will be making baby food in it. I have no idea what other people complain about when they say it doesn't blend in the few negative reviews I have seen. They either added the ingredients wrong (liquids first then more solid stuff on top) because it blends everything I have put in it no problem. The other complaint was there are no words only pictures on the face, but when it shows up brand new, there is a peel off plastic protector on the face that DOES, have the words on it, and I elected to leave it on and just cut the tab off that says "peel here" I love that it counts the cycles, I see how often I use it all the time, making me feel like I am getting my money's worth. It is noisy, but my 2 year old isn't afraid of it nor does he run away when it's on like a few people said in their reviews. He lives to push the button and watch the swirl while sitting on the counter with me right there. But some lawn mowers have less horsepower than this thing, and it is quieter than those so I am happy. The container never needs scrubbing... Ever! I simply rinse with a bit of soap and water and it is spotless. If necessary I run the water and soap on blend for 10 sec. Or so and that scrubs any leftover bits out. On the once or twice I elected to try and get some bits out of the bottom with my hand, I love knowing it has dull blades that won't cut me. I did notice that if I put large chunks of frozen fruit in it, then the blender moves a bit, but all it takes is a little pressure to hold it still for a few seconds until the fruit smooths out. For the most part I love that I can put my ingredients in and hit the button I need and walk away. Even if I hit one of the slider buttons and walk away it won't blend forever, it stops at 50 seconds. If I need more, well... Just hit it again. No biggie. I can stop when I looks done before the timer runs out if I need to. Over all I have had it over a month and use it 2-4 times a day. No problems whatsoever!

This blender is great, but loud
This is easily one of the top two blenders you can buy, along with a vitamix. This one doesnt seem to have as slow as a setting as my friends vitamix. But other than a few select instances that will not be a problem for most people. The wildside jar works great compared to traditional jars. The included recipe book is a really great touch. The motor is strong enough to do anything. From iPhones soup to home made peanut butter. The biggest considerations with this blender are a) is it worth the price, and b) can you (or your neighbors) deal with really really loud noises. It is by a very wide margin the loudest thing in my place. Louder than my dyson. (Could just be a different more jarring kind of loud.) And as for the price thats really a question of budget and value of blending in your life. For most people this might be overkill. You can do some of this with a bullet or ninja. The value really comes in 7 year warranty, and the amount of blending power it brings to the table. I for one love it. And I love all the small touches, like a 5 sided jar, or a top you can add liquids to during the blend.

The designer series looks very nice and works as advertised
The designer series looks very nice and works as advertised. This machine will pretty much blend anything. The preset settings work very well. I have not yet had trouble with things getting stuck. The wildside jar is designed to pull objects towards the blade and it works very well. Its important to follow the provided instructions for blending specific items. Otherwise this machine is a pleasure to use.

Blendtec customer support is terrible
Bought this blender for green smoothies. It worked great for awhile, generally light use over about 18 months then something snapped while trying to blend a handful of frozen strawberries. Appears that some key components, made from plastic, could handle the torque this machine produces. Must say that while it worked, it blended thoroughly. Given the generous warranty, I filed a claim...the initial process was very easy, but then contact with Blendtec dropped off. A few weeks later, I received a replacement but it was a completely different model and appeared significantly less quality then my original. Among my frustrations with cuter support, I received no further instruction...no manual...nada. In fairness, after a stiff letter of complaint, I received a level of attention that was immediate...but could have been avoided. After another couple of weeks, I received a similar blender to that which I originally ordered....but again, customer support follow up fell off completely after initial interaction. I have to give support a big thumbs done...a little communication works wonders...without it the apologies seem hallow. Cheers and here's to hoping that I won't need to contact them again. Just disappointing.

Fan Tastic Blender
This thing is fantastic, and I do believe it will be the last blender I'll every buy, I read a bunch of reviews on here whining about how load this was and that really worried me. I had an old Osterizer Blender which was loud but by comparison Blendtec is about 1/2 as loud, it was a major relief. These people complaining about how load this blender is don't know what they hell they are talking about. It maybe loud compared to the other top end blenders but if you are coming from a low end 100.00 blender this thing is quite as hell in comparison. On to the blending we make Ellarita's and invention of my wife's whcih I a happily named after her, lemon or limeade concentrate, vodka, ice and fresh mint leaves. I was so surprised at the speed which the blendtec blender mowed down the ice to smooth consistency, so much so we had to add more liquid to thin it up a bit because the finer the ice the thicker it will be. It only took about 20 seconds or so for a completely full container of Ice to be reduced to the smooth icy consistency you are used for any good margarita or in our case Ellarita

Appliance Upgrade Worth Every Penny!
I was massively frustrated with my old blender because it was difficult to disassemble around the sharp blades to clean and because the motor had broken twice in a row just outside of the return windows. I went for this much higher $ upgrade and was skeptical about how much an appliance could change my life but I am thrilled with it. I have used it for smoothies soup and pancake mix so far but it's only been about a month. I can't believe how well those blunt blades work! I hadn't realized what a burden preparing healthier food at home had been until I got this machine! As a note, I did have to return my first one because it had clearly been used. There were a lot of scratches and watermarks and even some food remnants on the jar and base. Amazon sent me another with no issue but I think that supports some of the comments that this is actually a refurbished item and not brand new at this reduced price.

Well....hoping the warranty is good!
I received my Blendtec in February 14, it's now Sept 14, so I've had 7 months of fairly regular use, mostly for a green smoothie in the morning. It's great....mostly. I found it's easy to overheat when trying to blend frozen strawberries or bigger chunks of raw carrots, which surprised me given the hype over what this thing can do; I haven't made a single iPhone smoothie with the thing! Additionally, it's spitting out black shavings under the blender jar & is now struggling with even easy blends, and it's gotten even louder (for those of you that own one, you know hearing protection should be recommended!). I'm waiting to hear back from customer service; not sure if it's the motor or the blender jar, but either way I'm disappointed in it's durability given it's mild use. Perhaps I just got a defective one?

New Lids Useless - Expensive Non-Serviceable Jar Failures
There are tons of video reviews out there to watch and the Blendtec always does well in competition, though it pretty much always also looses out to the Vitamix due to the lack of a tamper and thick/heavy butters and doughs tending to get caught up on the sides of the jar. I prefer the Blendtec's lighter and more airy smoothies to even the Vitamix, and the Blendtec will make very hot soup given a few cycles. It's a very capable machine at doing pretty much everything. The biggest drawback is reliability. The base unit has held up well in light/moderate use over the past 9 years, but the jar bearing failed with an awful noise. There's no good reason the bearing/seal shouldn't be replaceable with the blade, but Blendtec instead seems to glue their parts in. You'll have to purchase a new jar at a cost of 1/3 of an entire new blender, and 2x as expensive as replacement blades for a Vitamix. To top it off new jars come with a useless hard plastic lid that does not seal, it just kinda sits on top. I'm not sure if it's the new lid for all Blendtec or if they're just ripping people off who need new jars. By the way, the new Jars come with only a 3 year warranty instead of the 8 year on the original purchase. Tells you everything you need to know about replacement part quality right there. I'll be moving away from Blendtec at the next failure.

Very pleased
I bought this initially to make green smoothies. I am very pleased with its power and its pre -programmed settings. Makes blending so much easier! I use it at least twice a day. Very quick to clean.

Blew up in 3 months. Customer service to get warranty replacement is very poor
$500 blender with 8 year warranty blew up in 3 months - literally coils of wire falling out the bottom. Made to jump through hoops to get it replaced. We have to ship the base back to them, 3 weeks after they get it back they will send a replacement, the warranty for which starts the day we purchased the original unit. After 2 weeks we have still not received the return label which was suppose to be emailed in 2-3 days. Was refused a refund because we bought it from Amazon, not from Blendtec. Customer service is unhelpful and rude.

Makes Wonderful Smoothies
I bought this so I could mix up smoothies with kale and other greens. It does this and much more. I've only begun exploring all the things this blender can do.

This blender is refurbished!!
We were very disappointed to find out this blender was refurbished when we got it. NOWHERE in the amazon details did it include that information. It wasn't until we got it home and looked up the number on the bottom of the blender that we found this out. It may not have been terrible, but something was definitely wrong with the motor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sounds like something is really off. I make smoothies daily and only got three uses out of this one before we decided to return it before it really stops working.
