desertcart.com: The Nourishing Traditions Cookbook for Children: Teaching Children to Cook the Nourishing Traditions Way: 9780982338339: Gross, Suzanne, Morell, Sally Fallon, Eisenbart, Angela, Waters, Kim: Books Review: What a fabulous book! - My book just arrived and it's better than I imagined! I'm a big fan of Nourishing Traditions, but know it can be overwhelming to those who are younger or first starting out on the journey of real foods. I love the recipes and tips in this book but also The Nourishing Traditions Cookbook for Children is beautiful. It's filled with colored illustrations showing not only the end product, but the ingredients and tools needed for each recipe which makes it perfect for young readers, those who are visual, and those new to this type of information. Each section (Kitchen Tools, Measuring Guide, Incredible Eggs, Mighty Milk, Butter is Better, Super Snacks, Vibrant Vegetables, The Secret's in the Soup, Friendly Ferments, Soak, Sour and Sprout!, Meet your Meat, My Healthy Lunch, What's for Dessert?) explains information, that sadly many adults no longer know, in a clear and concise way and focuses on the why and how and in some cases a bit of history. This book belongs in every school and public library as well as every home that is interested in feeding their children and families with real food. Review: Excellent for homeschoolers, teach your children and teach children in your co-op or cottage school. - Simple, easy to understand, so much useful information about real food. The recipes are delicious and I love the illustrations. Every homeschooling mama needs this book to teach her kids to cook real food. Government school and private school mamas need this book to teach their kids how to cook real food. Grandmothers need this book to teach their grandchildren how to cook real food. Aunts need this cookbook to teach their nieces and nephews how to cook real food. I will be giving this book as a baby shower gift from now on.

Every kitchen needs this book
I love learning how to cook and prepare as my great grandmother would have with nutrient density. The bonus is this book isn’t just recipes, but also incorporates the history and facts of traditional eating throughout the world. This is a must for every home kitchen.

Good beginner’s book to cooking from scratch
Bought this for myself and my teenage daughter. We have been on a health journey to get away from processed foods. This is a good place to start. I would even say this cookbook is not just for kids. If you are new to cooking from scratch, this might be a good cookbook for you. It does have pictures but it also includes information on making bone broths, fermentation, etc. Besides telling you how to do things, it also gives you you information on the why to do things a certain way and why certain foods are giving people so much trouble. A good beginning book.

This book is amazing!
I had it preordered, and it finally came yesterday. I've been cooking the Nourishing Traditions way for a few years now. ( In my opinion, it's the only way of eating that makes sense.) As a mom of 5 young children, I've found it a little hard to explain to them why we cook the way we do. This book says it in an easy to understand way for children. And the recipes! We have other children's recipe books, my girls beg to cook out of, as they like the pictures in them, and everything looks so yummy. I'm always hesitant, because I don't want them eating that "garbage", and don't want them learning to cook that way. So I will say it again, this book is amazing! It has lots of pictures of healthy, delicious looking, food. I also really like the pictures in the ingredient list. It helps for the children to have a pictorial overview of everything they're going to be needing for the recipe. I also like how it encourages eating seasonally. So it's great, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Little expensive, but very worth it. Just wanted to add, when my mom in law saw this book at my house, she liked it so much that she went home and ordered one for her and my sister in law.

Finally a Children's Cookbook with Good Healthy Food!
My 9 year old loves it! Easy to read directions with colorful illustrations that make the recipes look exciting and engaging. Simple yet full of the food philosophy our family practices. Finally she can (read) get it from a source other than mom! There are desserts and drinks in the collection but it is not over the top with sugary foods - balanced with delicious veggie, meat and egg recipes. I've paged through a lot of kids' cookbooks and been so horrified at the junk kids were being encouraged to make. Grateful for this book.

Wonderful Gift for Children!
I am thrilled that Nourishing Traditions has a version for children. So few children know anything about food or how to cook - what a deficit. I purchased the book as a gift for a girl turning 11. Also purchased an apron for her. I read through the book before giving it as a gift and absolutely loved the illustrations and the ease with which the recipes can be made. The 11 year old LOVED the book (and the apron) and she immediately began looking through the book to decide what she wanted to make. Her mother was delighted too, as he has wanted her daughter to begin to learn to cook. I think it is a fun way for kids to learn to cook. Thank you to Sally Fallon Morell and Suzanne Gross. I highly recommend this book. (Purchased the book on my husband's Amazon account) Candace

This book is a treat!
This is a magnificent book - a cookbook that any novice to cooking would appreciate. It has a great variety of delicious recipes in a spiral-bound, counter-space saving format. The book delivers its advertised content and then some. In addition, it is superbly written, artfully designed and fabulously illustrated. The authors have struck a wonderful balance of cooking instructions and explaining how to maintain good health. Our 8 and 16 years old are also very much into art, and they love the many beautiful and 'tasteful' (pun intended) illustrations! They are a real treat in and of themselves. I highly recommend this book. My family loves it and we plan to gift it to friends and family. It is easy to see that a lot of thought and work went into this book and I am gratified that it is currently the # 1 Bestseller of Children's Cookbooks on Amazon.

El mejor libro de cocina para niños que conozco. Hay recetas para todo tipo alimentos. Mi hija aún no sabe leer pero lo usa para hojearlo y elegir recetas. Además los dibujos son muy bonitos.

This book is a must have if you want to teach your young ones how to prepare their own food from scratch. My 7 year old loves it and is so proud to be making his own scrambled eggs. Even though he can't read English, with a little help from me he can do everything on his own. Beautifully illustrated too!

The best children's cookbook I have ever seen: easy to follow, hands on, perfectly illustrated, real recipes that will last a lifetime while fun to learn/play with, and a cover that makes it easy to keep the page. Well chosen recipes that set a precedence for a healthy life and just the right number of them. The book is not overpowering in any respect but simple, fun, encouraging, and extremely well explained without going too deep into the science of things. I bought the book for my kids, but I have come to see that this is not only a perfect book for children. It is perfect for anybody embarking on a new, healthier cooking style in the tradition of "Natural Traditions" by Sally Fallon. In fact, as a cookbook, this one is the better one for the novice in "Natural Traditions". So a book for young and old alike. And the best children's cookbook on the market.

Paid $34.50 for this on Amazon Australia as a gift for a young mum and it is nothing like the image on Amazon. It is not even a properly bound book just pages held together with a cheap plastic ring spiral you'd find at the stationer. They haven't even bothered to convert or offer measurements that are relevant in Australia. So they are in gallons and quarts, pounds and ounces, sticks. No kilograms, grams, liters or milliliters! I want to send it back and get a refund.
