Will this machine work well on concrete/blacktop or in a gym? I'm concerned about it needing to be staked down.

The machine needs to be secured to the ground. After every pitch the machine will jerk/move if not secured properly. The slightest movement shifts the pitches. Sandbags or weights would be an alternative to the stakes.

No power needed. It’s spring powered. Adjustment for pitching speed, height, etc are done by adjusting spring position, ball position etc. you tube has good videos to clarify what I am speaking of.
