My husband has one of these and I decided I need one too! So convenient to use. Very sturdy you can stand on it with confidence. Great for getting in and out of the bed of a truck. The plastic is very heavy duty. Has a comfortable height . Folds for storage and is free standing so you don't have to prop it or secure it. We love this stool!

If you need a 2-step ladder / step stool this is a good one to consider. I like it enough to replace one instead of getting something else. I like it because it has large feet that are good outside on dirt or on the grass and its stable. It is easy to open and close, even with one hand and a quick jerk motion sometimes when the other hand is holding something. When folded it stands up on its own so you don't have to lean it against the wall. It is all plastic and seems to handle summer heat and winter cold without getting soft or brittle. That also makes it a lot lighter than a metal step ladder. It is pretty strong in my experience. I am around 170 and lift things I can barely lift while stepping up the ladder into the back of my truck. This Rubbermaid 2 step stool / ladder has very little frame above the top step when its folded open and its only to the sides and not in front of the top step so that is good for using it to step up and down the back of a pickup and it not being in the way. The top step is nice and wide, the first or lower step is only half as deep and meant more as a very stable ladder step than an equal step to the top. It is intended that you will be operating mostly off the top step with or without the other foot on the lower one but not both feet on the lower one in case that's what you want. You probably need one that doesn't fold then. IMO. I had one of these for over 20 years and left it in a public place when loading my truck and was back within 5 minutes to get it but it was already snatched up by someone. Hence this purchase. I did look to see what else is out there but didn't see anything comparable with all of the things I listed above and based upon my long, positive experience I decided to get the same one again. It's great they still make this exact same model over 20 years later and it has not changed one bit so I guess that says something.

Don't let the fact this is plastic fool you into thinking not durable. I have purchased many plastic two step stools and not one of them can compare to this one. They aren't joking that it can support a 300lb weight limit. My first stool by RM is over 25yrs old. I recently took it to my mother's house as she has decided to upgrade two of her bedrooms. She saw me using the stool and liked it so much I ended up letting her use mine and I used hers. Then I left it there for her to use. All she talked about was how light it is but sturdy. She especially likes that the top step fits her entire foot so she feels more secure when standing on it. The stool never pops or tips over when stepping on it regardless of which step you are on. Never buckles or moves during use. I have sat on this stool and shimmied along and it is still going strong. Mom's makeover came to and end so I brought my stool home. Not even a day later she started telling me how much she misses it. Needless to say I bought this one for her. Now I get daily calls telling me she doesn't understand how she ever got along without it. Even my brother-in-law loves using it. Not just the fact this is an extremely durable stool but it's great for sitting in. More importantly it comfortably fits your entire foot on top. My mother has really bad arthritis in her feet. Trying to climb any step ladder is a really challenge for her. She even has a two step metal stool that has a bar to hold onto while you climb. But the bar doesn't help with her feet. She's more secure in her footing/climbing with this stool than her metal stool. Plus she's unable to sit on that stool. If mobility/balance is an issue look no further. This is the stool for you.

Nice quality and very sturdy step stool. I keep it in my closet so I can reach clothing on my upper shelf.

I bought two, one for inside and one for out. Although it is the right height as a step stool and is very sturdy to step on, I bought it it use as a stool outside. I use it in the garden to weed and will use it to decorate for Halloween and Christmas. I"m 66 and have problems with my back after a car accident. If I bend over to do things for too long it takes me out of commission the net day and as it takes almost 2 weeks to decorate for both holidays getting taken out for a bad back just prolongs it. The stool folds easily and nicely and should fit almost anywhere. FYI; for those who also might want to use to sit on, the top step is 14" high which is perfect sitting height where your botto isn't below your knees.

The stool is good. It is sturdy and will work as it should. The problem I have is the product packaging and shipping. It was in a box twice its size with no other packaging or padding of any kind. Therefore it just tumbled around in the large box. On arrival it was scuffed and marked up. I’m really surprised it was not damaged otherwise. Come on Amazon you can do better.

We've had one of these before and gave it up to our neighbor, because it didn't make it on the moving van, as we still needed it to finish up things before we moved out. We thought of our good ole stool many times in our new place and realized how deeply missed it was. So, I decided to go on the search for a new one, if they were still available, and with Thanks to Amazon, for providing many thousands of items, that you can't seem to find in the store these days, we were so surprised to find it again on their website. I weigh 242 lbs. and I never had a problem standing or feeling insecure, on the top step of this stool. It is very strong, yet light and very easy to open and close. This is a great stool to keep handy around the house. When you close it, it will stand up by itself. No leaning against walls is necessary. So enjoy your new stool. I think you'll love it, as much as we do.

The ladder is great for what it is designed for. The best as this one is replacing one that I have had for years but it got run over and could not find a replacement here in Australia. BUT 2 of the feet/shoes are missing off it. Definitely not in the box.
