Great converter using it on a golf cart.
I was in the process of building a new golf cart and needed a converter for lights and sound, this thing rocks and has 50 amps, I also like that it has a built in relay so it powers off with the golf cart. Just make sure you remove the little jumper wire.

Seems well built
I bought this to regulate the voltage to my camper's compressor refrigerator. The refrigerator occasionally, regularly, give a 12 volt alarm. Measured input to the refrigerator is 13.5 volts but hay, for $21 I can make sure it never sees less than 13.8 volts. On startup it measures about 130F but now that the refrigerator is up to (down to?) temperature it reads 120F. That's why that have a solid heat sink on it. It's boosting the 13.5 up to 13.8, last time I checked.

Answer to a tough problem
I have a battery backup garage door opener in my shed that doesn't have AC power. The baterry is charged by a 100w solar panel/controller setup. The battery voltage varies from 11.9-14.8 during the daily cycle. The opener doesn't like voltage above 13 volts or so and will trip some component in the opener and shut it down. I need to run a cord to the shed and apply 110AC and it will recognize the DC backup. I put this regulator between the battery and the opener and it has kept a constant 12.2VDC to the opener. No gliches, no resets. Solved a bugger of a problem. Opener draws about 4A and it handles the load just fine. I highly recommend this product.

Two failed too fast
Ordered two, first one broke within a year. Second one broke within 6 months. They were both inside a 48v golf cart to supply lights and other 12v loads.
