Sparthos Sacroiliac SI Belt, SI Joint Belt for Women & Men - Black, Regular

This belt, when worn correctly, works well to relieve my SI joint pain and seems my best alternative to SI joint fusion or to steroid injections. I am an active 79-year-old man, 5'6" tall and weighing 146 pounds. I bought the Sparthos Sacroiliac Si Hip Belt (Black - Regular size). It's easy to put on, take off, and to adjust. It's light weight, well-constructed of quality materials and comfortable to wear all day long. Initially I made the mistake of cinching it up too tightly. This caused pain. Firmly but lightly adjusted works very well for me and, of course, walking with good posture helps tremendously to reduce the pain. Sitting too long in any chair is problematic. I find that walking or even just standing while wearing this belt cuts my pain sufficiently that I don't usually need any pain relief (Tylenol or Excedrin) even when I know I've done too much twisting, bending over or lifting. Raking up leaves or using tools such as a hedge trimmer trigger my pain but use of this belt + doing SI joint stretches and exercise truly keep me moving. I sincerely hope this review is helpful to you if you're dealing with SI joint or other lower back or hip pain and are looking for a good possible alternative to surgery.

I have been experiencing some pain and discomfort in my right hip. I stretch before workouts, etc., but nothing seemed to alleviate the discomfort. This belt does alleviate the discomfort most of the time. I use it while doing lower body exercises, e.g. back squat and it helps support my hip. I use it while running and it helps up to a point. It alleviates pain but not every time I run. It's so comfortable, you won't know its there. Best-of-all, it does not get in the way of exercise. You can do squats, deadlifts, and run with it and it won't get in the way. So far, the elasticity has held up; it has become looser while running. That was one of my concerns before I bought it. Amazing, what a bit of compression does.

This SI belt made areal difference in my back pain. I am amazed that such an inexpensive device can make a real difference!

Let's be clear. This does not CURE an issue in the SI joint. I have hurt my SI joint over the years and it usually is ending up around once a year now. I am a weightlifter and I got the belt this last round of injury. And I am careful with my lifts. As a personal trainer, I need to be supported to demo for clients and help them out. I have used many weight belts over the years. From the old leather straps, to today's buckles and velcro. I will say that this SI belt does support the SI joint specifically. And with the dual straps you can vary the tightness on either side well. It is also very comfortable to use daily. I have had the belt for 1 month and would love to see how it is 6 months from now but for now? It works very well as a support tool for gym goers. Again, this will not sure the pain - meds do that for me. But it does give me the support I need to be wary of how I use my lower back during lifts or workouts. Update: months have passed and wanted to update everyone. The belt was fine for a while then the velcro began to wear out. Now the belt won't stay tight and locked anymore. No matter how much I brush the material the belt snaps off whenever I tighten it. I dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3.

Washable. Use during the day/ during exercise and keeps my pelvis in place. Great quality. Recommended by my PT and for ease of use and functionality for those with pelvic issues post partum.

I bought this for my mom who was having low back and hip pain. Physical therapy and meds had not helped. She finally has some relief!

I have hypermobility and posture issues and I use this belt along with thinner support with a leg portion in tandem. The construction allows you to set the under belt portion tight for support while the main straps over them can be set to pull on one side or the other more. My right hip is the issue so the way I set the belt is to have the right strap be lose and positioned at my right hip, while the left strap goes all the way over to the right hip and pulls it from there. Then you can adjust the elastic portion like an X to cover your entire hips, front or back. After doing that along with wearing it over my thinner brace has done a great job at helping my body get back into a position where my other muscles can grab it. The only issue is that it can be difficult to find the eventual fit that helps, and that the X straps can not go low enough to support my right glute, but that's ok as It's going fine despite that.
