PerfectPrime IR0280, Infrared (IR) Thermal Imager & Visible Light Camera/Video Record 1024 Pixels & Temperature Range from -22~1832°F

I appreciated : - the speed of the IR0280 camera, the fluidity of the data displayed on the screen. - the low weight, and ease of use. - a wide variety of features: photo and video recordings, very easy management of these recordings with deleted file recovery. - the touch screen that allows temperature viewing any area of the screen or a recorded photo whether thermal or visual. It's as if we had hundreds of very accurate thermometers at the same time. These data are also saved in a CSV file for future Excel applications. - the battery life, the very easy standby and the standard 1/4 inches screw interface for tripod. 1) Thermal Image Quality the software features compensates for the low resolution of the sensor (32x32). It is not necessary to focus only on the thermal image, the hybrid thermal-visual is very interesting, as well as the visual, but you should know that there is a vertical image shift that would be useful to correct (as for the camera IR0005). IR0005 gives a much finer thermal image, so we try to process a video with software used in astronomy. For this we proceeded to a recording of 10 to 15 seconds, ie # 200 frames followed by a process with the free software REGISTAX6 (previously the video was converted into MPEG because registax does not work with MP4) the “REGISTAX” method significantly improves the signal-to-noise ratio and can be useful for the presentation of a report. Another quality of this camera, which is very powerful, is the extremely fast detection of anomalies such as a latent fire after a maintenance intervention for example: welding, intervention in electrical box ... a verification of a building site with the help of this IR0280, even walking quickly allows to "see" a small increase in temperature, with hundreds of thermometers at the same time, by activating the auto-monitor alarm, which can take a snapshot of the event or simply the Hi-Low temperature alarm. for this Hi-Low temperature alarm, it would be interesting to have a buzzer that would complete the visual alarm. TEST : I took half a cup of hot water # 50 ° C, I set the alarm high temperature to 28 ° C (to avoid false positives), my floor being about 22. I made a movement up and down with the camera, with a frequency of 1 second at the climb, a second at the descent. IR0280 is able to detect this cup up to 15 meters (100% success). This would have been even clearer with an audible alarm. We don’t use any filter to have the best response speed of the system. I did the same test with IR0005, with the same frequency, you have to really scan the screen and within 10 meters to have detection. I think that in the field of monitoring of dramatic events such as the one we knew in France (Notre Dame de Paris) IR0280 would have been a great help.

I have to say IR0280 is a very good thermal camera. It can capture images, record videos, and record the temperatures within the whole images, which is very good to do the post analysis. $260 can give you such good functions! While the resolution might be its only drawback to me. Too blurring and hard to really see the contours of the temperature maps. I returned it to buy FLIR TG297, in comparison, despite TG297 has a good picture quality, but it literally cannot do any post analysis or record any other temperature infos, which made me really disappointed. I would like to say I will choose IR0280 if really needed for my research, but not FLIR, considering the functions and price.

Just not the best..

The device came in with 16GB microSD card, a USB data/charging cable and a manual in a molded foam plastic carrying/storage case. I am impressed by how easy it is to operate. It can be operated with one hand, and it is not hard to master and remember all operations. When the device is turned on and initialized after about 30 seconds, red blobs start actively showing up on the screen. A couple filters (Gaussian and spatial-temporal filters) can be selected to reduce noises at a lower resolution, and normal video can be overlaid on the infrared video in order to identify infrared objects on the screen. The trigger switch on the handle, which is used as a return key, and as a push key for picture and video, is quite tricky to use. When it is used for taking a picture it must be pushed and released quickly. If it is not released quick enough, it will enter into a movie mode and complain that the movie is too short. It behaves similarly when the trigger switch is used at the start of setting max and min temperature -- It must be released quick enough in order to get into the setting mode. The device when connected via the supplied USB cable to a PC (and also a cell phone with a correct cable), it would be treated as a storage device, i.e., with Internal and SD card. Pictures and videos can then be viewed or copied out. The infrared resolution is at 32x32 pixels, and looks lower when a filter is used. It seems to do adequate job for large objects such as stoves (as in the video), hot-water pipes, refrigerators, animals,etc., and help me to insulate them better. For smaller object, such a circuit board, I can read off temperatures, but it is hard to figure out components in details. The handle bottom has a threaded hole for a camera stand for keeping the device steady while monitoring or taking a video. It also has an alarm function for low and high temperature. Unfortunately, it seems to only flash a band of blue or red on the screen so it requires a constant watching the screen. The alarm does not trigger a sound or a voice; otherwise, it would be ideal to monitor animals lurking in my backyard at night. All in all despite some shortcomings and high price, it is a good product.

I am giving this 5 stars because it is a great camera for the value, not because it is the best camera you can buy. I also have the ir0005 camera from perfect prime. The ir0005 is much more detailed, but also more expensive. Even the ir0005 is much less detailed than cameras costing $1000+. The ir0280 will work well for identifying heat loss, poorly insulated areas, leaky windows, etc. What it will not be great for is identifying small components where detail is needed. Overall, for the price, it's a great camera. The feature that allows the ir image and the visible light image to be overlaid is super helpful. Recording images is easy and intuitive.

It is a piece of garbage and is now broken and can’t return. The image is like looking at Minecraft in fast motion. Do not buy it, you will completely disappointed! Flir is worth the money since I bought one on Amazon within a few of receiving this garbage.

Works great! I love the display and ability to record. I found it maps out the environment pretty well.

I have had this camera for about two years now. It works well enough and does what it does well. I can take pictures with only thermal images, only camera, or combine the two into one shot (probably the most useful mode). It takes high enough resolution pictures in both modes to be useful and seems to provide good information about temperature differences. I've used it to determine which windows in rental properties to change out and where certain parts of a wall in an older house needs its insulation redone. Very useful in this respect. Easy to hold, controls and functions are intuitive and easy to use, and screen is bright enough to see wherever (brightness adjustable). One problem is that the BATTERY doesn't last! I charged it two weeks ago via the USB wire (old style connection, USB-mini-A I think), but when attempting to use it today, it would not start. Note to manufacturers - does it leak power even when not turned on? Are you using bargain-basement battery packs? You would get five stars if you corrected this most annoying issue. Recommended for the price, but be aware you MUST make sure it is charged before use.

J'ai acheté ce produit dans le cadre de travaux : ayant besoin de creuser dans le sol je devais m'assurer qu'aucun conduit de chauffage ou d'eau circule. Je m'en suis donc servi pour localiser les tuyaux circulant sous le plancher (dernière photo). Je suis très satisfait de l'article pour l'instant ! Il fonctionne très bien et la batterie intégrée semble bien tenir. J'ai reçu cette caméra thermique avec un cable USB pour la recharger, une carte micro SD de 16 Go déjà mise dans la fente prévu à cet effet et une house bien pratique pour ranger l'appareil. La caméra dispose également en dessous d'un écrou pour les pieds d'appareils photo. Je suis content de cet achat. Le seul petit défaut est la qualité de l'image qui n'est pas extraordinaire mais qui est plus que correcte pour le prix.

ピザ釜庫内の温度計測のために購入しました。 廉価なモデルで1000℃まで計測できるものはこれしかなかったので購入しました。 温度の正確さはある程度はあるかと思います。 沸騰した水の温度、揚げ物用油の温度、そこそこ正しそうな値を示してきます。実験するわけでもないので、±5℃程度であれば問題ないかと思います。 温度計測解像度は粗いですが、これもまたおもちゃのサーモグラフィーにしては十分かと思います。 温度の表示がズレていることもありますが、その際は再起動でズレが小さくなります。 安くはない製品ですが、この価格で気軽に温度計測できるのは楽しいです。面白い製品だと思います。 充電がUSBミニBとかなりマニアック。micro USBよりは堅牢そうですが…。
