A "change your life" product
My son talked me into buying this by saying "it will change your life" mom. His wife is Asian and he said her whole extended family each own one of these. The rice comes out better than cooking on the stove, is easier, quicker and the "keep warm" setting keeps the rice fluffy for two days. We also steam vegetables in the top section at the same time. The rice is perfect every time and so now I have no pots to clean. Cleaning this is a breeze.s IT DID CHANGE MY LIFE!!!! Everyone who likes rice should own one of these.

Great rice cooker
The rice cooker is very efficient. I had one before and I gave it to my son so this is my third one. I like the tiger brand you cannot go wrong with it.

Reliable workhorse—so good we bought a second one!
We have used this Tiger rice cooker for years without a single issue. We actually just bought a second unit for our other home because we were tired of hauling it back and forth (and occasionally forgetting it!). It has officially replaced our old, discontinued Black & Decker steamer as the "MVP" of our kitchen. We typically use Kokuho Rose rice (from Costco) and prefer a moister texture. After some trial and error, we found that a ratio of 1:1.4 (or 1.5 cups rice to 2 cups water) is the sweet spot. While the bowl has clear graduation markings for standard ratios, you might need to experiment to find your perfect consistency. A quick tip on timing: The cooker doesn't "know" the exact volume of rice you put in at the start, so it can’t give you a countdown immediately. It usually chimes when there are about 10 minutes left. If you are timing a complex meal, it takes a few uses to get a feel for the total duration. We only use it for rice, but it handles that perfectly every time.

Tiger makes the absolute best rice cookers for home use.
Tiger is a brand I grew to know while living in Japan, and we had our old cooker for a full decade without issues. Really, considering our old model is over 10 years old, it actually isn't broken or anything; the rice just is starting to go bad quicker and rather than bother getting a new bowl or thoroughly cleaning the old one, I figured it was time for an upgrade to a bigger size anyways. This one works just as well and the one we bought in Japan for the most part. There are a couple of minor annoyances like the top doesn't have the satisfying click that our old model had; it just kind of flomps shut. It's secure, but without the click it just doesn't feel so. It also seems to get pretty hot on the lid and smells like hot plastic, not burnt, just a very heated plastic smell...I don't remember our old one having a smell while cooking. Outside of that, really there's nothing to complain about. Considering the price you can get these for on Amazon (~$150), it's a steal.

Great Rice Cooker! Tiger JAX-T10U-K 5.5-Cup
Let me start by saying this is a great rice cooker. In the past I have always used and purchase cheaper rice cookers from Wal-Mart or somewhere and was hesitant to spend so much. My mom kept insisting it was worth it and I would have to agree. The rice turns out way better than my previous rice cooker which was some cheap model (Panasonic maybe). I didn't know what I was missing until I ate the rice produced from this cooker. There are plenty of other reviews that go into the specifics about pro/cons but I will list some that influenced my decision. Pros +Made in Japan - this is subjective perception of quality. +Adjustable Cooking Time- the Zojirushi model i was comparing didn't have a timer so this was a pro for me. Cons - Non-retractable power cord. - Lithium Battery ( i didn't really consider this, but after reading the manual Tiger state the battery lasts approximately 5 years and they recommend an "authorized dealer" replace it for you. i expect this to last longer than 5 years and don't know what i'll do once the battery wears out since i don't know where to take it for a replacement. I'll probably try it myself first, but had i known beforehand i would have researched more options) - No condensation collector. Every rice cooker i've ever seen or used always had a little collector for the water that condenses at the top of the lid, this one does not! when the rice is done cooking it's a little more moist than i'd like but as you let it sit on the keep warm setting it gets to the perfect point. there's also a little residual water that drip when you open the lid which is annoying. this missing collector may be by design, but just a little surprising to me. Summary All things considered, this is a great rice cooker and i would recommend it for those who need smaller quantities of rice.

Tiger rice cookers are so good I purchased a second one.
I had my previous tiger rice cooker for 16 years before the rice bowl rusted through and that was totally my fault. That is why I purchased another tiger this time. I love it. It makes great rice. My only complaint is that after 24 hours on warm it overlooks the center ti mush. I usually keep some on had most weeks for a couple of days eating from the machine. My previous machine didn't do that. Dry out yes but not make center mush. I may need to play with it more. It is worth every penny despite the higher price tag. Thr non stick rice bowl goes right into the dishwasher.

DO NOT RECOMMEND
Not worth the price. Rice takes 10 min longer to cook than other brands. Rice doesn't keep long after cooking. No recoiling power cord...that was a big mistake on my part. Cord supplied is barely 2 feet long....very unsatisfactory.

I purchased this product not knowing it was 110V and my system operates on 220V. I had very good experience returning the product and receiving a quick refund The customer support was excellent

UPDATED: the seller proactively help me solved the issue, very good one. The info saying it can work with 220V electricity but clearly it s not. Now i have to return it and order another one, such a waste of time

Total disappointment. I was so looking forward to receive this rice cooker. But this rice cooker is only for 120V, not EU standard (220V) as written in the amazon technical info.

As the voltage supply doesn’t match in UK, I required to make the refund. The Seller is very patient and helps a lot to process my refund.

Been using for a month, love it!! Easy to clean, not complicated to figure out how to use it, rice comes out really yummy. We make a mix of brown rice white rice and other grains , very fluffy and tasty. Easy to digest! Only thing is that when you pop open the lid with the button it will bounce back a little bit. Not a big deal for me but I know some people hates that. Hope to use this for 20 years!!
