An insight into the true nature of reality
Have you even gazed up at the stars on a clear summer evening and wondered about the universe that lies above? Do you remember those moments of introspection when you pondered the meaning of your existence, or when you wondered so fervently where that deceased loved one or pet might be now? Seth, a "personality" channeled by medium Jane Roberts, reveals these questions and more in his first of many books in the Seth Series. Seth first came through Jane in the early '60s and continued to relay information right up to her death in the early `80s. In this book, "Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul," Seth addresses the true nature of our physical/spiritual existence, much of which is blind to us in our conscious physical state. While Jane Roberts is the credited author, ironically, she is really the ghostwriter (no pun intended). The real writer is Seth, who has lived this physical reality more than once. His intent is to impart upon us a view of "reality." Not "reality" as we know it; reality as it really is. Seth says our current perception of reality is "an illusion." We live within a sea of molecules, which we use to create the physical existence we experience. Our real existence emanates from our soul, where our inner self exists as the primary component to a physical identity we think of as our true being. The narration draws upon topics as wide reaching as metaphysics and spiritual consciousness, dream states and analysis, psychology, religion, and the experience of physical death. Whether or not you agree with Seth, this book will widen your thinking, expand your view of the world and your placement in it. Many of Seth's concepts, which he relayed in 1970 through 1971, mirror concepts discussed in quantum physics and reality. The message he sends is not designed to establish a dogma but to remind us of a reality our soul already knows and we spend a lifetime trying to remember. True inner growth comes with spiritual awareness. Consciousness precedes form; everything we experience is created within, then projects outward. Being reminded of the many aspects of our true being awakens the inner self, bringing us continually closer to All that Is. Many of these concepts are "heady" and may not be understood in this review. After reading Seth Speaks, their true meaning will make sense. Clearly communicated and brilliantly conceived, this book is a decongestant to the pathways of the soul. It will open those channels to your inner being and, if nothing else, will cause you to view those stars that shine so brightly on a clear summer night far differently than you did in the past.

“Objective” reality laid out before you
Using the words “Truth”, “Reality” and “Objective” is a misnomer, but I couldn’t figure out a better way to describe what’s in this book. These words are misnomers because reality is completely subjective, and subject to being shaped totally by our focus. But it is more than that. It’s hard to explain, but Seth in Seth Speaks demonstrates the wisdom of Infinite Intelligence as he lays out the details of life which humanity knows so little about. If you’re at all inclined to interest in life after “death”, you are going to want to read this. Supremely profound, spot on (in my experience) and thought provoking, this read will open your eyes to what is really going on in “life.” It’s not for everyone. My experience brought me to it with perfect timing. Had it come earlier, I would have blew it off as hooey, not because it is, but because my preparation for reading it was woefully inadequate. Nearly every page, every paragraph every sentence, every word contains so much wealth of information, I found myself highlighting nearly the whole book! I was highlighting so much my fiancé at the time suggested I highlight the parts I thought were NOT important. That would be easier She said LOL. I devoured and resonate fully with Seth’s complex analysis of “life” in all it’s manifestations, both in “life” as we know it and in that part of life that exists beyond what we call “death”. What inspired me so much about reading the first part of the book is how immense post-death life is. I so am eager to experience that more! The section on dreams and the multiple dimensions of existence threw me though. I wasn’t ready to consume that material. I find myself getting through it now though and as my experience with the material matures, I am finding the material about dreams and how to access consciously these unfamiliar dimensions fascinating, thought-provoking and, believe it or not, adding a richness to my life that I knew in the corners of my mind were possible, but didn’t know if I’d actually experience it. This is life-changing material. If you’re not ready for it, you’re not going to enjoy the journey. If you’re in the right space and ready to receive this material, I strongly encourage you to dive into this book. How will you know? You’ll just have to give it a shot I guess!

A Skeptic's View of the Seth Books
I first came across Seth Speaks in the 1970's, when a small format paperback version was accidentally left at my home by a friend. At that time, the cover was a pukey purple and featured a photo of the twisted, contorted face of Jane Roberts speaking as Seth. I was immediately repulsed and decided to read a little of the book with a predisposition toward disdain, just so I could dismiss it and throw it away without any feeling of guilt or curiosity about what it contained. However, as I began to read, I found some of the ideas intriguing, provoking further questions and thoughts. The later chapters concerning what Seth calls probabilities were stunning in their implications. I was hooked. I began to eagerly anticipate the publication of any Seth book and bought all of them, including the two previous ones, "The Coming of Seth" ("How to Develop Your ESP Power" retitled after Seth became famous) and "The Seth Material" (earlier Seth Sessions). The Seth books, beginning with Seth Speaks and continuing with The Nature of Personal Reality and all the subsequent books, changed my life, my beliefs and my views about reality. They also informed and illuminated some of the more unusual experiences I have had and for which I had lingering questions. I have bought and loaned these books to others many times, but have always replenished my supply so that they are a permanent part of my bookshelf collection. I was grateful that Amber-Allen bought the right to republish all of them and keep them in circulation. The so called New Age Movement came after these books, and I am still skeptical and disdainful of much that I have been exposed to by New Age enthusiasts, most of whom I consider to be a little too gullible. But the Seth books still have a special place in my heart and mind. There are some profound, and profoundly helpful, ideas in these books, and I'm grateful to Jane Roberts, her huband Robert Butts and Seth for producing them.

Seth is the Esoteric trailblazer!
Seth has been a trailblazer for many of the channelers of the 21st century, kudos for that. Seth message at least in this volume is to make humanity believe in something greater than itself. The chapters about dreams, consciousness, and thoughts were amazing. Seth explains that there are many other dimensions of reality (back in the 60s/70s), something quantum physics has theorized making a merger of science and spirituality, and perhaps just maybe that will be The Key for making humanity's leap of faith into a New Era of Reason, Tolerance, Progress and Understanding between all races, political affiliations, and religions to become as One, but respecting each others individual way to worship. There are a few discrepancies when dealing with the afterlife, where Seth states that we can rewrite our wrongs and relived those aspects of our life, going back in time, under the assumption that we had become enlightened beings. But then after Seth claimed that even in the afterlife we have "free will" and can still make mistakes, contradicting that we had become enlighten beings (maybe meant in the context that probably we all get to be enlighten beings after many, many reincarnations). Also the 3 ancient civilizations subject was incomplete, at least in this volume. And the perpetuation of the superticion about The Return of Christ, was not good at all, probably pandering to religious fanaticism, to appeal to evangelicals!. Note that Seth insists there were 3 Christs (John the Baptist, Jesus, & Paul) this concept wasn't only too dogmatic, but erroneous, and even dangerous!, speciality when attending to be prophetic stating that it'll reappear in the 21st century, year 2075. I think paul selig, ACIM and Abrahm Hicks, do a much better job in that regard staying away from dogma.

One Of The Most Enlightening Books I Have EVER Read!
I've been on a roller coaster of a spiritual journey in the last few years, following a brush with death. My soul has been turned inside out and upside down in my thirst for truth and I believe I have finally discovered it. I've read several of Jane Roberts books and at first read through I admit I had a bit of trouble digesting them. They are so excessively footnoted by her husband that it becomes very distracting and almost annoying until you train your eyes to flip past those insignificant details. I mean, does anyone REALLY care to hear over and over how "good" the trance was? How deep she went and how quickly she came out of it? The tone of her voice? How long each trance lasted and how many breaks they took? I certainly didn't. The overall material of the book was magnificently fascinating. The "little" and unnecessary details only watered it down somewhat and is what many might find convulting about it. I consider myself to be intellectually well read on a broad level, but I had to skim through numerous chapters, grasping only bits and pieces before a second read through finally took hold. This particular book was by far the most easily read and interesting. I, myself, find it impossible to take these books by Jane Roberts as anything BUT truth. They touch too deeply, are too precise, thoroughly detailed and clear cut. Skeptics will likely always be skeptics. Forever demanding "proof" that they will NEVER accept as anything but delusion. Christians will likely always be Christians. Blind, one way faith is beautiful but not logical and imo, stunts spiritual growth. SETH presents what I believe to be the truth behind the cloak that surrounds our 'reality'. Your mission is in whether to accept it and apply it to the life you presently live.

We listen …
From the very start of his book, I found “Seth Speaks” to very engaging. With his subtle philosophical nuance, Seth speaks to us all. For anyone interested in understanding themselves better as well as their relationship both to their internal dream and to the “external“ reality, this is your book. Enjoy!

This book contains timeless information...literally
This really is an amazing book and one that had the greatest impact in my life as far as opening my perception in ways I could not have imagined when I first read it in 1975. After reading it, I was “ruined”, but in a good way. This is not one of those books you can pick up and read from cover to cover in a few days because it's so rich in ideas and information that you need to go through it slowly in order to mentally digest it. Each time I read it is almost like reading it for the first time because I always grasp something new that I didn’t quite digest the last time through. This is one of those books you have to read with open-mindedness; if you can’t do that, then you probably won’t get much from it because the information goes way beyond conventional ideas of reality. The material goes against what we’ve been conditioned to believe about religion, history, science, identity, reincarnation, death, after-life, good and evil, and reality. If you hold tight to your beliefs and identify strongly with them, then you will probably have a problem reading this book because it will challenge your beliefs in many ways. On the other hand, if you are able to open your mind to the possibility that you create your reality and that there may be other ways of looking at reality, then you’ll probably have a blast with this book.
