I have always had an issue with athletes foot. I ended up getting a toenail infection that I could not control and resulted in me having to have my toenail completely removed. It was embarrassing because I am huge in taking care of my feet. My doctor recommended this purchase to help minimize and eliminate foot fungus and athletes foot, especially during this recovery time. It takes a minimum of a year for your toenail to grow back completely and it is important to keep it clean to avoid bacteria from being trapped under the nail as it grow back. I was hesitant but made the purchase. It's a reasonable size so it fits in most adult shoes. It is great quality and strong. It is completely quit. I thought it would be loud but you can't hear it at all. And it only takes 15 minutes for the treatment to be done. It's fast and easy to use and easy to store. I keep it under my shoe rack so I can easily treat my shoes after I am done wearing them for the day. The difference this has made!

Exactly as described. But would not deodorize. Comes with scented dessecant packets that fan circulates air over to deodorize. But really, it is just covering the scent not eliminating it. Scent will return. Wife liked the scented packet smell (pine needles), but I don’t. Like that the UV light will kill any mold/bacteria, but these won’t get the stench out. Disappointed for the $$$ spent.

On the first device I received, one UV lamp was faulty and worked in neither the left nor right shoe unit. On the second, the power control switch on the device had to be pressed 5-25 times to make it come on. I requested returns for both devices and am hoping a third will work as it should. Incidentally, the manufacturer packaging is inadequate for the rough treatment Amazon packages receive; the flimsy plastic tray that the device is packaged in (inside the manufacturer's box) was massively cracked in both of the shipments I received. Also, the round sticker meant to seal the manufacturer box wasn't intact in either shipment, so either the boxes I received were other customers' rejects or the manufacturer's seals are faulty, too.

I was initially hesitant to make this purchase due to some negative reviews. However, I have had a great experience so far, without any of the issues other reviewers had. I have no problem with the product fitting in my shoes or turning on. I have already sterilized three pairs of shoes (including boots and sneakers) with ease. My Podiatrist recommended that I use a shoe spray to diligently sterilize my shoes. I found it nearly impossible to pray the toe area of my boots, so I searched for another solution. So far, Sterishoe has been a great way to sterilize my boots easily. I love how quiet the fan is and how quickly this product works. You just insert it into your shoes, turn it on, and walk away, and your shoes will be sterilized in 15 min. Happy so far!

I have struggled with foot fungus for years since I took up running. Several rounds of medications never seem to work. When another doctor remarked that I had to throw away all my shoes, this got me thinking on how to break the cycle of infection and stumbled on this product. Since using this sterilizer for 3 weeks, I have managed to finally get clear feet when combined with fungal cream( zaricort). This is definitely a good investment since I did not have to throw away thousands of dollars worth of shoes now or in the future. It also keeps my shoes smelling fresh and clean. Initial users have to know that there are 2 sensors built in for safety. There is an ambient light sensor so it is best to use the shoe cover if you are not sure. Also , there is another sensor at the bottom of the sterishoe so make sure to fit the product snugly to the bottom of the shoe interior. Once that is understood, using it becomes a cinch. I have almost sterilized all my shoe and plan to do so for the rest of the family. Overall, a competent product that I have yet to find another substitute for.

After about 20 uses both ambient light sensors are blinking and UV lights do not come on (as stated in users manual for this fault code). Fans run. Shoes are in bags and even covered with a black bath towel. No luck. Unplugged and re-plugged in. That worked a couple of times but now does not. Saw other people had same problem. Seemed to work OK when it was functioning. I am returning and will look for another manufacturer.
