Studio Designs' Deluxe Craft Station features a comfortably large work surface and a place to keep all of your various supplies. The table top with its adjustable work desk is great for drafting, drawing, or crafting on its large work surface. The table top easily adjusts in angle up to 40 degrees - just pull the top of the table up to the desired height and it locks into place, useful even as a portable office desk. 4 accessory side trays and 3 slide-out drawers are available for storage. Also includes a 24'' pencil ledge that slides up and locks into place when needed, as well as a cup holder and metal frame holder with drip tray (for glue gun, paint, etc.). Four wheel casters with dual locking make for a secure, mobile work station. Main work surface: 36''W x 24''D. Overall Dimensions: 41''w x 24''D x 30.5''-45.25''H. Review: Easy assembly, solid desk - We received this desk a few weeks ago (thank goodness for delivery to an upstairs apartment - the box is heavy!) and assembled it almost immediately (see below). Since that time the desk has been in use almost daily and is holding up well. Nothing has come loose, the surface is solid and doesn't move to much (on carpet) and the pen holders and drawers are functioning well. Even with the desk mostly being used by a 10 year old. Assembly wasn't "too bad" for an item like this. Other than a couple of places where you had to be careful to get bars the right way up, and trying to work out from the diagram which way the locking hinge goes, the desk was put together in about 40 minutes. Tightening up the bolts with the provided tools might be a bit tricky for some - but using tools I already had it was a snap. The trickiest part for us was really the plastic drawer assembly which, while snapping together solidly perhaps took a bit too much effort to snap together and was a little tricky to screw into the caddy provided. There are plenty of storage compartments, plus the lip at the bottom is a nice feature to stop pens rolling off. At a 30 degree angle, paper stays in place well. Therefore, even with a few niggles in assembly, for the price this is a great art desk. Review: Great drawing table! - We bought this desk for our 12 yo who loves to draw. It's great that the angle of the surface is adjustable, so he can use it flat for making stop action videos, or tilt it for drawing. The plastic organizers on the sides give a place to keep frequently used items handy. The table surface is a smooth laminate. The storage drawers under the desk are pretty small, but allow him to keep some art supplies. The pictures give a very realistic view of the product. The desk height is not adjustable, but is appropriate for adults - this is NOT a little kid desk. He uses a tractor seat stool (height adjustable) with the desk, and a clamp-on lamp for extra lighting. He's been using it for a month now, and loves it - no complaints. It was pretty easy to assemble. The table surface arrived with a wrinkly dent along one of the long edges, and one of the drawers was warped, but the company has a website for reporting issues and quickly sent replacements parts - no hassle.

Perfect art station for a tighter budget.
For the price I paid for this, you can't really go wrong. It took me minimal effort to put it together (I am a woman). The size is pretty big, it has a good size work area to sit at. I fit comfortably at the table with my computer chair. It sits low enough that I don't need a stool or anything special. One nice thing I like about it is that if you leave the two screws on the front of the table (where the white bar is) slightly loose, you can slide that bar up and down. This is huge for me because when I'm doing an art piece, coloring, drawing or anything like that, that white bar would get in my way and be uncomfortable. When the white bar is up, it does a great job of keeping papers or the like from sliding off the table top when it's lifted. It's easy enough to adjust the table top angle, but also kind of a pain. You have to really reach back there to get it and I have shorter arms. I really like how you actually screw the black case onto the desk underneath. This way, when you pull open one of the little drawers, it doesn't pull the whole case out with it. The drawers are perfect size for scissors or pencils. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the side trays. They are very nice to have. The two trays in the back are a little harder to reach from a sitting position in the center of the table with short arms. I have my table facing a sliding door and one day my kids ran past, not paying attention of course, and hit one of the trays, breaking the piece that holds the tray on. Otherwise, I love this table and it has been a budget tight dream for me.

Nice desk for the price
I bought this quite some time ago. I don't really use the tilt feature (because then I'd have to clear the desk off). However it is extremely easy to tilt the desk to different positions and back to flat again. It also was simple to put together. I did have an issue with damage from shipping. I called the company directly and they resolved it immediately. If you intend to use the tilt feature then the holders on the side wouldn't work so well if tilted too much at an angle. They are optional to add to the desk although the ends are a little sharp without them. Overall a very nice desk especially for the price.

Great for beginning drafting and studies. Great for laptop, books and study materials.
Works good for drafting too. Not only for crafts. Great for college students to study on. Plenty of room for books and study materials.

Not what I paid for
Table itself is good, but the drawers don't hang properly and the holder is completely bent. Easy to assemble other than drawers don't and can't hang.

A well designed drafting desk
Despite other reviewers experiences, the desk very easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and the pre-drilled holes were aligned. I am not sure if I got lucky, or if the instructions/design has been changed since older reviews were posted. The top is laminated mdf, and the base is steel box tube. The desk seems quite stable, and is easy to operate. The pencil holders are plastic and may not take too much abuse, but seem sturdy enough. The storage boxes are also plastic but are serviceable. It is not an heirloom piece of furniture, but it seems well constructed and good value for the price.

Not the best purchase
After spending many hours putting it together, this table was a big disappointment. It wasn't sturdy enough to move without the top sliding off and the piece that would have made it a drafting table was inadequate. It had lots of lovely drawers that fell off if you opened them and lots of lovely side pockets that were unusable. I had to send mine back and Amazon is quite good about that, thankfully.
