How does this floss differ from traditional embroidery thread?

This thread is made of loosely twisted cotton. It does not separate into individual strands like traditional embroidery floss. It is very strong and hardwearing. It is primarily used for Sashiko.

Do the colors bleed when wet?

I've used some for patching holes in clothing, all has been washed/dried numerous times and no bleeding.
