One star removed for not being UL certified. Went through a lit of budget irons before this worked for me. Problem with reviews is that they don't often specify what an iron is good for. Any budget 25W $10 iron will work for soldering new connections in most electronics work. The main factors to evaluate are: 1. Does it have the right tip for the work? 2. Does it work for remove existing solder using a pump or wick especially from difficult spots like a pot's body or a grounding plate which can conduct heat away? 3. Do the tips clean well between soldering and tinning or lose heat conductivity quickly? This was the first combination solution that worked for me for all of the above factors. A variable control is a necessity for 2. Spare tips are essential for 1. The included cleaning accessories were needed for 3. After struggling with a couple of different irons, this allowed me to finish the work quickly without much fuss. The included tips are designed for more precision work in small electronics than big electrical work. Seems like a good fit for applications like guitar pickup replacements, robotics and science kits, raspberry pi based board work, hobby electronics projects, etc. Don't have enough usage to say whether longevity is good. But didn't see any evidence otherwise.

It solders stuff, works good.

Hopefully it continues to work for at least a year.

Love having a soldering station with a tip cleaner and sponge over a seperate iron and stand. I'm not heavily experienced in soldering so I don't know how much I would need a LCD temperature display, so it works great for me!

I've had this soldering iron for a couple years, and started using it on a nearly daily basis working from home. After 9 months of that the plastic in the pen that holds the metal piece where the tips screw in fell apart because the plastic got brittle due to heat exposure. This is adequate for the occasional home use, but if it will be sitting on for hours per day regularly it will fall apart. I've never seen a weller at work fail like this, and they've been used daily for decades. Until it fell apart I was pretty happy with it. One thing I did not like was that there is no indication that it is on, a lot of soldering irons have an indicator light. It's easy to forget to turn it off after using it intermittently.

I have not used as yet but arrived on time and condition great, very handy
