Huge for "The CHICKEN"!
We ordered the VBENLEM 46'' Electric BBQ Rotisserie Grill Kit and it arrived quickly. It took us about 15 minutes to assemble even with our arthritic hands. Deciding to use it right away, we got "THE CHICKEN" out of the freezer. It was a huge chicken. This unit is so large it makes "THE CHICKEN" look like a Cornish game hen! Slow roasted chicken, apple-wood smoked over an open fire is amazing! So tender, so juicy! I was worried it would come out dry, but it did not, it was amazing. Very sturdy, this is a very large unit, just look at this thing! "THE CHICKEN" looks so tiny, and it was a huge chicken that would not fit in our normal rotisserie oven. I can't wait to use it again. It will easily hold a full brisket, lamb shoulder, leg of lamb, turkeys, or a couple ducks...which is what we plan. We don't know where to buy a whole pig or whole roasting lamb, but we will find out! One of my photos shows that instead of using a bolt to hold the turning spike in place, the husband switched it out for a pin for easier disassembly and cleaning (you know, arthritic hands.) With some adjustments he got it to fit into our firepit. We did not torque down the wing bolts to hold the skewers in place. Hubby was able to slide it away from the heat when needed. Cons: *It is too big for "THE CHICKEN", just look at those spikes! Those are huge! But it worked to test the unit. *No variable speed on the motor, but for the price it is great. *The cord is short. (but an extension worked great). Pros: *Everything! *The speed on the motor is just right. *Adjustable height for roasting *Simple to assemble, it even included the tools. *Hard to adjust the height while cooking. Yeppers, Hubs and I would recommend this unit.

Great, affordable rotisserie spit with terrible shipping
I used this to roast a 55 lb pig, and it worked great. We rented a charcoal grill, took off the legs, and were able to set this over the grill bed. I wouldn't use a larger animal than this--55 lbs took up the entire spit. It was very important to get the spine of the animal close to the spit. We drove two u-bolts through its back and bolted them tight, and also wired the neck to the spit with stainless steel wire. As it started cooking, I periodically retightened the bolts, since lost water and fat meant that the animal started flopping a little on the spit. After the first couple of hours, things were well-attached and the motor had no problems turning the spit. Only negative note was that shipping was terrible--no updates for almost 2 weeks, so we eventually ordered another spit (which showed up broken), and then this appeared on our doorstep two days before the hog roast. If you're going to order this, make sure you do it well in advance since they don't ship promptly.

Great rotisserie but a bit short
Doubt if you can fit a 125lb pig on this thing, we got a 39 lb pig and could hardly secure it. The problem is the stands, which prevent you from using a bigger hog. In the picture, you'll notice the leg stands, preventing you from using the rest of the rod. You'll also notice the ends of the hog that are over the stands are not cooking consistently. Overall I liked the rotisserie and learned a lot with this first try. Easy to assemble and clean up.

Received the entire kit complete. It wasn't easy to decipher what is what... first time assembling this sort of thing. Watched a YouTube video to figure out what is what... it be good to put a video for this exact model to make it easier to assemble. Also you need to adjust the holes on the box... they were out of place... mind you this could be during transport, which would mean slight adjustments to the box are needed to make it a better fit... it turned as a test... ill follow up as I'm using it this Friday for the first time on a 70 lbs lamb... hopefully it does the trick. Ok here is a small update- as this would be day 0 to put the lamb on the stick... one thing I'm finding out for the lamb apparently you need to get clamps to hold the spine to the spinning rod, so that it doesn't bend in... Ill try and make do with a different way we'll see... it would have been nice to be included in the clamp kit

Having built my own very sturdy one, I was skeptical that this one bought online would deliver. Although I have not used it yet, I find it to be well built , relatively easy to assemble and most importantly , it comes with a strong motor to turn a fairly heavy animal . The distance between the two posts may not be enough to accept bigger carcasses but that is a minor consideration given that most of us will be BBQing small to midsize at best. For those of us who love a Méchoui , this is a worthwhile unit .
