Rocky Broadway

I saw this show on Broadway and was thoroughly blown away. I'm a humongous Rocky fan and when I discovered that it was being turned into a Broadway musical, I was skeptical. Having seen over 30 Broadway plays and musicals since 2007, this one ranks as one of my favorites. The story follows the movie faithfully, however, the love story seems to be played out better on stage. And to see the final fight scene, cannot be described, and HAS to be seen to be believed. The audience feels as though you've gone from a Broadway musical to a main event boxing match. The two leads of Andy Karl and Margo Seibert have great chemistry on stage and is captured on the broadway recording. The new songs follow the story and characters and the 2 standout songs are" Raining" sung by the character of Adrian and" Fight from the Heart" sung by Rocky. The training montage of Eye of the tiger and Gonna Fly now from the original motion picture soundtrack really make this one fly, both on stage and listening to the broadway recording. The inclusion of key dialogue from the musical help the listener relive the magic from the show and if you haven't seen it, this will make you want to make a trip to NYC to see this one.

Having seen the musical on broadway this CD brings me back to seeing it again. I can see every moment when I listen to the music. The sound quality of the CD is great and the songs are amazing. I highly recommend seeing the musical. If you've seen the musical you will want this CD to enjoy your memories. If you've not seen the musical that is okay. My mom has not seen it and loved this CD.

Saw this show on Broadway and wanted to have the recording as a musical souvenir. The real star of the show is the Tony Award winning set. We had the amazing experience of meeting set designer Christopher Barreca who gave us a backstage tour of his fantastic set design. Our seats in the audience for that evening's performance were in the front group of rows. We experienced moving at the end of the show from our seats in the house, onto bleachers located far upstage, and then riding this enormous mechanism out OVER THE AUDIENCE with the boxing ring for the final boxing match. Jason Alexander was seated in the audience. We enjoyed watching his stunned face as this enormous steel set piece slowly glided towards him. The show was good, Andy Karl as Rocky is great. He is more than a "triple threat," as he is an actor/singer/dancer and additionally an amazingly athletic and charismatic performer. See it before it closes!

It's okay. The music is good. The performers are AMAZING! (Andy Karl is a true star!) The lyrics though... wow. They need some help.

"Rocky" on Broadway is amazing! I've seen it three times (so far!) and keep singing the songs in my head. The cd is great with, not only the musical numbers, but some of the dialogue, as well. I love it all, but some of my favorites are "Fight from the Heart", "Raining", "Patriotic" and "Adrian". Andy Karl is the perfect Rocky Balboa, as is Margo Seibert as Adrian! Terence Archie, playing Apollo Creed is fabulous, as well.

Great soundtrack. Very exciting, like the show. My favorites of these spectacular songs are "Raining'" and "Patriotic." The music is touching, and uplifting. There is an unusually colorful collection of dialects and speaking /singing voices in this show, and they are well-displayed on the soundtrack. A pleasure to listen to. BJSimon.com

got it sooner then expected...love the music from this Broadway show!!!!

I am SO happy that Flaherty and Ahrens are working together again.I was VERY nervous about how this musical would work with such an iconic, sports driven love story. However, when I found out that Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens were doing the music...I knew if anyone could pull it off those two could--and they did! An excellent addition to the broadway cannon...the music works perfectly and the way Stephen incorporated the two main Rocky themes into the score is also incredible.A very good addition to the Broadway lover's collection. I am sad that I did not get to see the show before it went off Broadway.The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because in my opinion Ragtime is the best show Flaherty and Ahrens ever did and while I like this soundtrack it is still far from the epicness of Ragtime.

Endlich! Die deutsche CD wurde ja nur holterdipolter pünktlich zur Premiere auf den Markt geworfen, daher fehlten die "Eye of the Tiger" Versionen der Lieder.Hier in der englischen Version sind die Lieder nun alle vollständig vorhanden.Daumen hoch! Ein tolles Musical, sowohl für die Männer (Boxen), als auch für die Frauen (Romantik), ich fand es viel besser als den vorhergegangenen Film aus den 80er Jahren.

Le musiche sono FANTASTICHE, in particolare la n.14! I tempi di arrivo, minimi!!! Sono molto soddisfatta. Da non perdere assolutamente
