Love this little pill crusher. I use it for my dogs' medications. I had the same one for many years and only had to order a new one because I twisted the top at an angle and just could not get it open. This new one seems even better, smoother and easier to use. Maybe that is just because the old one was just, well, old :)

This pill crusher works by placing a pill inside the clear plastic housing and twisting the red top down onto the pill, crushing it. It takes a fair amount of strength to crush a pill this way and the crusher is only about 2 and 1/2 inches in diameter - so it's hard to get a good torque. Almost always, the pill will crack, but still hold together enough to keep you from twisting the cap down on the way. You end up having to untwist it a little, shake it until the pill comes apart a little, and then twist it down again repeatedly to crush the pill completely. I have a hard time imagining an elderly person crushing pills using this device. Also, with my medication, which is average, crushing two pills at once has cracked the bottom of the housing. So you can really only crush one pill at a time. My pill crusher still works just fine despite the crack in the plastic. It's a cheap pill crusher and I don't mind the work. But if you aren't physically capable of opening jars or the like, look at a different type of pill crusher.

Great Crusher. I purchased 3 different types of crushers at the same time, and of them all, I like this one best because it can crush more than one tablet at a time. It also works better at crushing dense tablets, although one at a time for those is the best way for them. This model is much less work to achieve a fine powder. The other types I purchased took five to ten times as many twists and turns to crush tablets than did this model. It also seems much more heavy duty, weighs more and seems more sturdy than the others I tried. And the storage compartment screws on to the body, so it cannot get accidentally knocked off.

I was extremely disappointed with the HealthSmart Pill Crusher and Grinder. As someone who takes a lot of medication, I was looking for a reliable and effective way to crush my pills, and this product did not meet my expectations. The first issue I encountered was with the grinding mechanism. It was very difficult to turn and required a lot of force to crush the pills, which was frustrating and tiring. Even when I was able to get the pills to grind, the resulting powder was not always fine and uniform. The second issue was with the design of the product. The grinding chamber was small and difficult to access, which made it difficult to clean and left me feeling like I was constantly wasting pills. The overall build quality also felt flimsy and cheap, and I was worried about it breaking or wearing out quickly. Overall, I would not recommend the HealthSmart Pill Crusher and Grinder. It's poorly designed and not effective at grinding pills, and it's not worth the money. Save your money and invest in a better quality product.

Non è un "tritatore" ma uno "schiacciatore": se la pastiglia è molto dura non riesce a romperla. Non ha una lama o similare che aiuti a frantumare, quindi va in crisi con pillole piatte e molto compatte.

Very easy to use works great

Muy bueno. Estaba preocupada por la duración del material, ya que muchos comentarios hablan de lo delicado que es, pero llevo usándola diario por una semana y media y no se ha crackeado ni nada. Voy a seguir probándola, si se rompe o algo actualizo mi comentario.

Great gadget, doesn't create the mess or bits of tablet flying about when using a pestle and mortar, keeps tablet secure inside unit. Easy to use, put tablet in upper part of container, turn red screw until it stops, hey presto a fine powder is created. Will crush coated tablets but leaves some of the coating intact, but not in too greater pieces that might make swallowing awkward.(works for my father, and he used to struggle to swallow even tablets cut in half)

Sencillo y práctico, quizá un poco grande porque tiene depósito para llevar pastillas. Lo compré para mí madre y buscaba un método sencillo que no tuviera que solucionar problemas con las cuchillas y éste me pareció el más sencillo y seguro.
