Excellent TDP Lamp!!!!
After over a decade of acupuncture and nearly always having the practitioner use a TDP lamp on me (usually they would position it on my feet or belly) I decided to finally get one. There's a lot of models to choose from but am happy I chose this one. People are lowering their rating for the lamp to heat. Well hello??? The lamp needs time to heat up! Ten minutes is not that long to wait! It's a heat lamp it's not going to be instantaneous. The construction imo is high quality. The bolts to the various parts needs to be assembled properly and tightened correctly. The head is MORE than secure snapped into the socket/stem of the lamp. Even without the screw or the screw a little loose (as another purchaser complained about) there is NO way the head would fall out of the socket. It takes a lot of pressure to get the stem locked in in the first place upon assembly. The operation of the 60 minute timer is smooth and helpful. People complain about the ticking sound but I lOVE IT! It reminds me of the tranquil and relaxing times of acupuncture sessions! But it also provides a reminder that the lamp is active and on. There is actually a setting to allow you to simply turn it to on position… So you don’t have to listen to the ticking timer if you don’t want. It's a wonderful lamp. I highly recommend it and in two weeks of owning have used dozens of times for everything. Aches and pains from gardening (low back, upper back strain, shoulder issues, tennis elbow) and for menstrual cramps it's amazing! Or if you have an upset stomach or tension headache. I cannot believe I waited this long to get one!

great quality
I bought this for a gift for someone else; however, I did use it once to ensure it worked before gifting. it is a quality product! very durable. heated up within 20'' like it said; worked great. I did put in on my lower back where I have soreness commonly; it actually did seem to make a different despite barely getting to use it. coincidence? unsure--but when I need one, I'll be purchasing this exact one!

Best purchase this year!
UPDATE: I have used this for several months. Still in perfect working condition. I am still extremely happy with this purchase! I bought this after my acupuncturist has used on one me weekly for a year or more. It is wonderful to reduce pain and tightness in muscles and body. I have been using heating pads for years (highly recommend sunbeam brand, their warranty is wonderful). This is a next step that works even better with longer lasting results. I was told to buy a TDP lamp with the mineral plate and the bulb not the led lights. This model fit all the recommendations and more. The head is a bit bigger than the one at the office and it warms a bigger area. It takes a few minutes to warm up and not nearly the 20-30 minutes. Maybe 5-7 minutes for mine. I like that this has a timer to prevent staying under too long. (I want to because it feels so good). I also like that I can hear the timer click off when my time is done, the digital models are silent. The positioning is easy and solid, it stays where you put it. The base and wheels were easy to set up and really the only thing that needed put together. The unit moves easily over my carpet and wood floors. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.

Works well, but could be improved
So far I am fairly happy with this purchase. The heat lamp arrived well-packed, with all parts. The included instructions are mostly useless, but have a QR code that you can follow for assembly instructions online. Why not just have the assembly instructions included? Seems like a strange choice, but ok. Lamp went together easily and feels reasonably solid for what it is. The range of motion of the head as actually pretty good, allowing me to position it easily so it targets pretty much any area of my body. My two main complaints are: 1. The design of the lamp head attachment is awful. This needs to be completely reworked as it is difficult to tighten securely so that the lamp head doesn't flop forward. 2. My lamp will occasionally turn off even though it has power, and the "on" light flashes. It appears that this is some sort of fail-safe shut off, although there is nothing documented about this condition in the instructions. I've found that fully turning it off and back on usually fixes this issue. Overall, given the less expensive price, I think this is passable, but I would be curious to see if more expensive models are designed and function better.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! AWESOME FOR DEEP MUSCLE & ARTHRITIS RELIEF!
My acupuncturist has one of these that she uses on me during acupuncture. I told my husband how this feels so much better than a heating pad because the warmth goes right to the bones. We looked into it when we got home, and it is for deep muscle/arthritis pain, so he bought this for me. I can't say enough just how much I LOVE it! It feels SO good, especially when weather is coming or going. I'm in Last Stage Lyme Disease and have had Lyme Disease for 35 years. So if it will help the likes of me that no one can help, it can help you! My husband uses it on his hands for carpal tunnel and it brings warmth and relief. Great product. OH! ...and BTW, this is the same brand my acupuncturist uses!

Not removable head, flimsy, construction, no accessible fuses
This is not the same as the older lamps. There is no fuse that’s accessible from the rear. We’ve already had one of these lamps in the knob is very flimsy. The center column is very flimsy. We’ve already had one snap completely in a half and the heads really are not replaceable. It doesn’t have that same three prong plug that the older units have. So even though it has the same model number it’s not the same unless they’ve completely just downgraded the entire lamp to a horribly cheaper lamp. As soon as I am packed it, I put it back in the box it’s going back. We’ve already been through two of these was hoping this one was different being that it was from a different company.

Defects happen. Its ok. Good lamp.
Item was defective. It happens. I returned it with no trouble and ordered another one. This is a great lamp. I owned the previous version of this same model. However, there was a note in the package which said this item had been tested. That's odd. It could have been damaged in shipping although there was no evidence of any damage on the outside. It happens. It does.

So Far, So Good!
As you can tell by the idiom, I'm a bit long in the tooth (another dated idiom)... 71. I'm at a point where I tell my doctor what doesn't hurt, rather than what does... it's a shorter list! Lately, I've has trouble with muscle spasms in my upper back and neck that last for days. I've read several articles on TDP infrared mineral heat lamps and the science behind them and decided to give it a try. Looking through what Amazon as well as other companies had to offer, it appeared that this same lamp was being private labeled by several different companies and sold for a wide range of prices. This one, sold by K.S. Choi Corp. thorough Amazon, was by far the lowest price of all those I looked at. There are cheaper, tabletop TDP lamps, but I wanted a floor standing unit that I could use anywhere. First thing I noticed when unpacking the lamp was how well it was built. With the exception of the control panel and knobs, the lamp is metal, mostly steel. The base was heavy, to keep it from tipping over, and came with casters to make it easy to move around. If you don't have GFI sockets in your house, it might be a good idea to use a GFCI Adapter like TRC 90033 Shockshield White Portable GFCI Plug with Surge Protection . While 3 wire grounded outlets are specified in the instructions, if you only have 2 prong outlets, a 3 prong to 2 prong grounding converter like AVB Cable U-09 3 Prong to 2 Prong Grounding Adapter, Gray used with the GFI adapter would be much safer than without it. The instructions say to preheat the lamp for 5 minutes before use, then place it 10 to 12 inches (25cm to 30cm) (no closer than 6 inches (15cm) ) away from the bare skin of the affected area. The recommended treatment time is 40 minutes. A a safety check, after my first treatment, I measured the temperature of the mineral plate (the radiating surface) and my skin temperature. The plate measured 551F (288C)) which puts the peak wavelength around 5200nm, within the FIR (far infrared) range (4000nm to 14,000nm). My skin temperature was 106 deg. F (41C). It felt warm, but not uncomfortably so (I read that skin temperatures up to 130F (54C) were safe.) Did it work? Well, I've only had it for a couple of days and used it 3 times on my aching muscles and joints. After each treatment, I felt no change in my level of pain, however, the next day, the pain was completely gone all 3 times. Coincidence? Perhaps. We shall see how it does over time. Based on what I've seen and experienced so far, this is definitely a 5 star product.
