Why does it say phone scope? If its not something for the phone?

"A quarter-sized ball" seems to be all that 1 can contains. They are really small. How many fires can a person reasonably expect to get from 1 can?

A quarter-sized piece is recommended for "worst case" conditions. IE heavy snow, wet wood, extreme cold, high wind etc. In more normalized/damp conditions, 4 fires conservatively and in dryer conditions anywhere from 8-10 fires for the .5 oz can.

What’s the shelf life for storage?

I bought it for hunting 2 years ago. Got the summer/winter pack and ive used it a few times over the years. Used it thanksgiving for a fire pit and worked like i just bought it.
