Matte Clay with Medium Hold & Low Shine for Control & Definition, Non-Greasy Formula, Hair Styling for Men, 85g

Always been a massive fan of American Crew products since my barber introduced me to them years ago when I was about 13 years old and I've always had the same hair style more or less so I've always used their Matte clay hair styling products as I have the classic military haircut extremely short skin fade cut back and sides and short and neat cut on the top and I've always liked a matte finish when using hair styling products rather than the shiny or wet look finish it applies so well and always styles my hair exactly how I like it plus it has such a good clean and fresh scent it's just a good quality hair styling product and I definitely recommend it.

Looking for a replacement to my usual Matt Pomade, this stuff is great. Easy to apply and washes easily. Adds a bit of thickness/ texture to the hair. Not too shiny… Perf

After using this for 2 years this is defo one of my favorite hair clays. It has a nice texture, decent hold, can re-shape your hair through out the day with a comb or fingers, no stickyness and not too tough or greasy. Its just got a nice balance. But why has it all of a sudden become hard to get hold of ? Its never available and the price just goes up and up. My alternatives are Tony & Guy matt clay or Lynx matt clay, but I think thats been discontinued. My hair style is a skin fade back and sides, with long hair on top combed back. If anyone is reading this and has a similar hair style as mine, please write a review with some alternate products or what works for them too, because us hair guys need good hair clays !

The best

I bought this for my teenage son who’s really picky about hair products. He wanted something with hold but no shine, and this totally delivered. It’s got a creamy texture so it’s easy to apply and doesn’t go flaky. The hold lasts all day but still looks natural—not stiff or sticky. It washes out easily too, which is a bonus. Smells fresh without being overpowering. He’s already asked me to get another one when it runs out, so that says it all!

Not as good as I expected from other reviews. Normally use LabelM matt clay and thought I'd try this. It's not waxy but it's not really as matt as I'd liked. Slightly shiny finish and not much hold or separation. Smells nice though.

I hardly use any amouyof this. Not sure on the smell though.

Het plakt minder dan de andere producten (zoals fiber) maar je haar wordt er sneller vet van en het heeft minder hold. Al met al vereist dit dus meer werk om er netjes uit te zien.

Esta cera para el cabello me ha hecho sentir como si estuviera en un salón de belleza, pero en la comodidad de mi casa. 👌 👍 Lo que me encanta: ✔ Fijación media-alta: No soy fan de los peinados rígidos, así que esta cera tiene la cantidad justa de fijación para mantener mi look todo el día, sin que se sienta como si tuviera casco. ¡Es perfecto para un look natural pero controlado! ✔ Acabado mate: ¡Por fin una cera que no brilla como una pelota de discoteca! El acabado mate es ideal, nada de reflejos raros. Mi pelo se ve natural, como si me acabara de levantar de la cama y mi peinado fuera producto de un talento divino (aunque sabemos que no es así 😂). ✔ Textura ligera: A pesar de ser un producto de fijación fuerte, no es pegajosa ni pesada. It says matte, but it's very oily and gives a wet look even if you apply small amount. Only the smell and hold is good. But it's not matte look for sure.

J’utilise l’American Crew Matte Clay depuis plusieurs semaines maintenant, principalement pour un coiffage quotidien avec un rendu naturel, sans effet gras. La texture est assez ferme dans le pot mais se travaille facilement une fois chauffée entre les mains. Elle offre une fixation efficace, suffisante pour maintenir la coiffure toute la journée, tout en restant souple. Le rendu est vraiment mat, sans brillance, ce qui donne un effet propre et soigné, idéal pour un style naturel ou légèrement texturisé. Points positifs : ✔️ Fixation moyenne à forte, mais non cartonnée ✔️ Fini mat très réussi ✔️ Facile à travailler et à répartir ✔️ Ne laisse pas de résidus visibles ✔️ Convient bien à un usage quotidien Points à améliorer : ❌ Le prix est un peu élevé par rapport à certaines alternatives ❌ Peut être légèrement asséchant sur cheveux déjà très secs Conclusion : Excellente cire mate pour les hommes qui recherchent un bon maintien avec un rendu naturel et professionnel. Particulièrement adaptée aux cheveux courts à mi-longs. Je recommande sans hésiter pour un usage régulier.
