Nice looking companion pet with strong pet battle abilities
The card arrived quickly inside a padded envelope that preserved it without bending or any additional damage. The code was unscratched, as advertised, and worked fine when I redeemed it. With MoP, companion pets have become account bound due to the pet battle system. You will be able to use this pet across all toons. This is a common loot card in the "Betrayal of the Guardian" TCG Expansion Deck. It is titled "Floating Spellbook", but when you learn and add this pet to your collection it is listed as "Gusting Grimoire" as a rare Magic pet. The pet itself is similar to the Lofty Libram, i.e., a flying book, and emits fireball sounds when summoned. His abilities for pet battles are: Level 1 - Fel Immolate (Deals Elemental damage instantly. The enemy Burns for 5 additional Elemental damage per round for 4 rounds. Up: Mechanical, Down: Critter) Level 2 - Agony (Inflicts agony on the target, causing increasing Undead damage each round for 2 rounds. Up: Humanoid, Down: Aquatic) Level 4 - Meteor Strike (Launch up high, becoming unattackable for one round. On the next round, you impact, dealing Magic damage. Up: Flying, Down: Mechanical) Level 10 - Shadow Shock (Shocks the target with dark energy, dealing 26 Undead damage. Up: Humanoid, Down: Aquatic) Level 15 - Amplify Magic (Increases the damage done by your active pet by 50% for 2 rounds. Up: Flying, Down: Mechanical) Level 20 - Curse of Doom (Deals 40 Undead damage after 5 rounds. Up: Humanoid, Down: Aquatic)

Neat Looking In-Game Companion Pet
For companion pet collectors, this would be a great addition for the really hardcore out there that are willing to spend real world currency on a virtual vanity item. That's like, Vanity squared or something... The loot card gives a code to be used to obtain the "gusting grimoire", which can be found in the pet journal under that name. The loot card itself is what is called floating spellbook, not the in game item. just a clarification for those who aren't familiar with the way loot cards work. Also, when you talk to landro longshot in booty bay and type the code in to get your pet, make sure your addons are disabled, as some of them seem to cause issues with being able to input the code correctly. I became quite frustrated and thought maybe i got a crap code at first, but disabling all addons allowed me to obtain the pet easily. It is a neat looking floating book with some minor graphical effects and animations. I play on a fairly low population server, so i have never seen anyone else using this pet, and only seen it on the auction house once or maybe twice at most over the 8.5 years i have been playing. Couple of things to note as well: Purchasing loot cards, redeeming them, and then selling the in game pets for gold is pretty much the only "legit" way to purchase gold with real currency... for those of you considering going to that dark side, haha. Also, dont forget that you can name your companion pets now! A neat little personalized name is a cool way to make your floating book stand out, and then under the name you choose, it still says what the actual pet is called officially. Nice way to add some RP flair imo. TL:DR, If this is your type of thing, you cant go wrong with this purchase (assuming you buy from a legit website with legit vendors and ensure you are getting an unscratched AND not yet redeemed card.)

Where to claim it.
If you are looking at getting this you probably already know the basics, and if you don't the other reviewers have covered most of that. What I wanted to add is how to claim the pet. The thing is, they are still printing the wrong claim info on the cards. You go to worldofwarcraft.com/misc don't forget the www and follow the directions there to claim rewards from cards. After you enter the code, they give another numerical code that you write down or print out (if you enter the code wrong, don't worry you can re-enter it) and then go to Booty Bay in game. Talk to Lando Longshot, he is on the dock with two body guards. Find the card game your card came from on his list (this one is Betrayal of the Guardian), then find the loot item you are claiming (Grim Grimoire). At that point a box will pop up in the center of your screen and ask you to enter the code you got on the website. That is when your pay off comes, your loot appears in you bags, so make sure you have an empty slot! You will see it in your log on the side of your screen it says something like "Grim Grimoire created". All that's left is to learn it and pull it out for the fun you bought it for! Just make sure if you are writing down codes and you have more than one card you are turning in you keep track of what code goes to which card! They won't work if you get them mixed up. My card worked great and I had no problems with it.

Great pet!
Love this battle pet! Received item in a thick plastic laminated sleeve, so that was nice. Needed to look extensively online for instructions on how to get this pet in-game, so it would have been nice if the seller provided this info. The website link on the card did not work. That's my only complaint.

Floating Spellbook battle pet loot card
Very cool rare magic battle pet. Card worked perfectly once i figured out that it is redeemed through worldofwarcraft.com rather than the redeem web address on the bottom of the card. First time redeeming cards, so a bit of a learning curve. However, persistance pays off and Im happily advancing my Gusting Grimoire through pet battles. And very cool to look at too! Had to Google "Floating Spellbook" in order to get correct pets name for redeeming. Card arrived in bubble wrap mailing envelope in excellent condition and quickly too. Kudos to the seller for prompt service.
