8MILELAKE Car Truck Front End Wheel Alignment Turn Plate

I was on the fence between these plates and another set, but I was skeptical of these because I thought from the pictures that they were made of plastic. After reading multiple reviews where people said they were high quality I figured I might as well give them a try. Turns out they’re metal, high quality, and have a great range of motion. They worked flawlessly for my at-home alignment.

Used them twice since buying. Well worth it for home use. They saved several test drives to dial in the alignment.

It has two handle things that I have no idea what they're for, but overall I'm impressed for the price

It’s an Amazon special I found in the middle of a late night shopping spree. I wanted something I could use to do my own alignments and these were the last piece of the puzzle. I didn’t want to break the bank and thought what the heck let’s give’em a try. Very pleasantly surprised and I give them a thumbs up!

I used this on all my vehicles including a 1 ton 15 passenger van which is very heavy. Works great. very easy to use and heavy duty too. The wheels are easily moved in or out as needed to get your alignment done. My friends come over to my garage and use it to do their alignments on and they are impressed with these turn plates. Very happy and highly recommend to the DIY mechanic.

I was skeptical at first, but after using it, my alignment is nearly perfect. I honestly wish I had bought this a long time ago. I'm a welder, so I built my own wheel brackets to align all my tires—but you can also find compatible wheel alignment brackets online. You'll also need to get a steering lock that applies pressure between the steering wheel and the seat to keep it in place. Start by aligning the rear driver-side wheel with the front driver-side wheel while the steering is locked at a near-perfect level. Then move to the passenger side and align those wheels. I set mine to zero, right within spec. After driving the truck to test it out, I was so happy . This was one of the best purchases I've made, especially when paired with the two other items. Understand that: • This is a good value for the money and I would buy again (maybe up to $40 cheaper) • This is in no way, a stand alone purchase to do a wheel alignment. Thus, instructions are not included. • This is true unit in that it combines both “turn plates (angular)” and “slip plates (side to side and to and fro)” with locking pins • Requires ramps to put all 4 wheels of vehicle bearing in the same flat and level plane • In my opinion, use included fillers for manual (by hand) roll on (Never drive on or off) these plates • The embossed degree arrow for the most part is useless as it does not move to compensate for slippage as some that cost 10 times as much do. (My work around is that I look for the graduation that is the most perpendicular to the base edge.)

The quality of the turnplates seems great - especially for the price. But I have 2 issues. 1) NO INSTRUCTIONS! No literature of any sort - Nothing. There are these handle things in the box, I have no idea what they are for. I'm an engineer and worked in consumer products. Putting a product out to market with out Directions for use and literature about the product/company is a HUGE oversight. 2) I found some instructions on amazon. The say to roll the car onto the turnplates by hand (not under power). This will be difficult as they are 2" thick. You will need a couple buddies to push the tires up a 2" side. I'm going to but the Quick Trick turn plates (for $100 more) and compare. They are 5/16" thick so rolling the car onto them will be a 1 person task -AND- they might have Instruction.

These work great as both a slip and turn plate so suddenly your string alignment can be done easily on a 4 post hoist.

Turn smoothly with a lot of weight. Angle gages are difficult to read and not reliable if using Bubble gage or manual caster measurement device.

The base of these plates is larger than the 14x14 they were advertised as. So they are 1/4" too big to fit into my hoist. They are super light and feel sturdy for the price. Unfortunately they won't work, make sure your cutouts in the hoist are 16" and you should be good
