Kalimba Songbook: Christmas Songs

I'm a big fan of all Thomas Balinger song books. I play several instruments and my library is stocked with any and all of Mr. Balinger's books for my instruments. This includes his books for Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer, ukulele, autoharp, tin whistle ... and now one for my brand new kalimba. As with his other books, this kalimba book provides an excellent introduction to the instrument and offers a lovely collection of a few Christmas songs. The print is clear and easy to read. I only have good things to say about it. As soon as my husband presented me with a new kalimba for Christmas, I quickly checked Amazon to see if Mr. Balinger published a book for it. So thrilled that he did! I purchased his book of 100 kalimba songs along with this book and I've been having a lot of fun learning to play my newest musical instrument.

I got this for my 14 year old grandson for christmas and he played with it off and on all day. I tried it and enjoyed it. it is a soft sound so should not bother anyone else. fun

This is a fun musical item. Sound quality is great. Well made.

The book came well packed and just in time but the only bad thing was that the delivery person lied on status he didn't hand deliver it he left it outside on my truck hood. So grateful that no one stole it or it got rain on. All was Good

Good Kalimba song book. I'm new to Kalimba playing and this book works well. I was able to play several songs quickly which is always always fun when learning a new instrument. The music is written in standard sheet music which I was a little disappointed in, I thought it would be written in traditional Kalimba music but actually the standard sheet music version is better because I'll be able to play any song on the Kalimba using standard sheet music. Also some of the songs didn't sound quite right when I played them but I was able to change a few of the notes to make it sound better. It was a fun challenge. With everything considered I still give it 5 stars.

I haven't used this book yet, but upon looking thru it, I will definitely be able to learn my Kalimba much better 😊. It has a wonderful array of Christmas carols that will be perfect for church preludes and postludes 👍🏻. Others didn't like it because there weren't many secular Christmas songs included. I love that that's the case and look forward to using it for church instrumentals 😁.

Great collection and nice for folks who can't read music. The numbers under the notes in the book mach the numbers on the Kalimba. So if you know the song, you don't need to learn the timing value of the notes, either.
