I'm absolutely thrilled with these Philips Pro Wired Earbuds! The sound quality is truly incredible – the clarity is exceptional, with rich bass and crisp highs that make every song come alive. Whether I'm listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls, the audio is powerful and crystal clear. What really sets these earbuds apart is how perfectly they fit in my ears. I've tried countless earbuds over the years, and these are hands down the most comfortable I've ever worn. They stay securely in place without any discomfort, even during long listening sessions or workouts. It's like they were custom-made for my ears! The lightweight design means I barely notice I'm wearing them, and the microphone works great for phone calls. For the price point, these earbuds deliver hi-res audio quality that rivals much more expensive options. If you're looking for wired earbuds that combine incredible sound with a perfect, comfortable fit, I highly recommend giving these a try. They've become my go-to earbuds for all my audio needs!

I was looking for a pair of earbuds with a mic. I stumbled upon the Performance PRO1605. I was surprised to see some small earbuds were advertised, as Hi-Res Audio. Not to mention, I was shocked by the price tag. Therefore, I was willing to take a chance on Philips, as I already own their superb, SHP9500. DESIGN: The PRO6105 has a nice and shiny, metallic design on the outside of the earphones. On the inside, is a plastic, navy blue surface with the L and R on their corresponding sides. This is located beneath the ear tips. In addition, the PRO6105 comes with three (S,M,L) interchangeable ear tips. The large ear tips on the earbuds by default. The ear tips fit snug inside my ears. No worry about them slipping out. The cord is like any other cord for headphones. However, on the left side of the headphones is a microphone. On the right side is a rubber clip, which organizes the cords in a neat fashion. SOUND: The PRO6105 has 8.6mm neodymium drivers, which is above average for most earbuds. The frequency response is 7-40,000hz, which is Hi-Res Audio. The SHP9500 is not, as they are 12-35,000hz The sensitivity is 109 db, compared to the SHP9500’s 101 db. Of course, you cannot compare earphones to headphones, but in the case of the PRO6105 in comparison to the SHP9500, that is impressive. The impedance is 16 ohms. The maximum input power is only 20mW. For some earbuds, they have superb, crystal clear and clean sound. The highs and mids are great. The lows are pretty good, as well. No distortion. The bass is deep, clean, clear but not overdone. Of course, most Hi-Res audio is not bass-heavy. With that said, if you are a bass-head, these headphones are not for you. Beats by Dre might be, however, In addition to everything, the noise-cancellation is great on these earbuds. I played some music, while the TV was up and could only hear the music. The music sounds excellent. Of course, these earbuds are made, primarily for that. Words sound crystal clear. The detail of background sounds i.e. instruments, drums, etc. of the music are heard, crystal clear. The treble is nice. Good bass, as I mentioned before. Out of curiosity, I performed a test of some games. I played an old, saved video of Hitman 2 on PSN. There was a part, where a massive explosion takes place. The explosion was punchy, along with the sound of debris, hitting the floor, sounded loud and amazingly, clear. The sounds around the environment, sounded clear, as well. I heard birds chirping, conversations of NPCs around the map, footsteps, etc. I was impressed. With that said, if you choose to game on PS4 with these, the controller can drive these earbuds with ease. In fact, I had the controller volume set to max but had to set it to level seven. The sound was still, ambient enough, without feeling, as if my eardrums were going to burst. MIC: On PSN, I did a test for the adjust mic settings. I could hear my voice, crystal clear. Also, for personal calls, I could hear their voice, crystal clear and they could hear mine. Plus, these earbuds have echo cancellation. Also, for personal calls, with the press of a button, music can be paused to accept phone calls. VERDICT: Considering these are Hi-Res, along with the accessories, which come with them, they are a STEAL for only twenty bucks. Not to mention, they can compete with some top headphones out there. Great for music and surprisingly, good for gaming.

It is best to review the Philips Pro 6305 by comparing it to a few other in-ears. Set-up: iPhone 14 Anker Lightning to 3.5mm adapter (max capability 24bit/48kHz) Apple Music (set at Lossless, 24bit/48kHz - not Hi-Res Lossless), also use Spotify Premium (set at Very High Quality download, marginally less than Apple Music lossless) Factors to consider: iPhones require an external lightning to 3.5mm DAC (unless the earphones are lightning with have a built-in DAC) To obtain Hi-Res Lossless audio, the DAC needs to be 24bit/192kHz (very expensive). The Hi-Res DAC is anyway useless listening on Spotify. 24bit/48kHz DAC by Apple/Anker is fine (non-HiRes) lossless. Going Hi-Res with Apple, Amazon or Tidal, the DAC cost might not be worth it. Review: With regards to Hi-Res… At first the Pro 6305 sound great. After a while, after listing to my RHA t20i Hi-Res earphones, it becomes quite “clear” (excuse the pun) that the 12.2mm drivers in the Pro 6305 produce loud and full audio, but not with the greatest clarity. Let me explain. When listening to ‘Degenerates by I the Mighty’, at 4minutes 30seconds when drums, guitar and vocals come together, it becomes quite apparent that the bass and mids becomes slightly muddy, whilst the vocals are a little bit forward. The problem is that the monitors cannot handle the separation of the drums and guitar very well. Which is okay at this price. The RHA t20i keep these distinguishable and clear. But considering, the RHA cost a lot more than these, and they are build like tanks. Comparing the Pro 3605 to the RHAs is unfair. When it comes to audio quality though, the Hi-Res on these are meaningless. Fair comparison with competitors: When switching to the Apple ear-pods, listening to the same song, the Apple in-ears causes the experience to worsen significantly. It becomes a complete and utter mess. So the Pro 6305 are much better than Apple, and also cost a bit more if a DAC adapter must be purchased (it is worth it though). The improvement is so significant that you would not want to use Apple ear-pods anymore, for anything. You can pass it down to a niece or nephew who wouldn’t know any better and just happy to have earphones. The vocals are clear, bass is adequate, mids and lows are present. Switching to Samsung AKG tuned earphones, AKGs matches the Pro 3605 in clarity and separation, but because the drivers are a bit smaller the audio is not as loud (if you listen to loud music that is). The AKGs are a bit more balanced and not too forward on the vocals. The AKGs are also more comfortable and more durable with a nylon cable. Whilst the in-ear monitors of the AKGs are slightly better in terms of sound quality, they are quieter and also have a less snug fit. The passive noise isolation on the Pro 3605 is therefore much better. They sound is close to my 1More Triple Drivers (which died within two years), with a better mic, for half the price. Not bad hey. They are on par with my Sennheiser Momemtum in-ears, but the Sennheisers stuck out of the ears like two screws, where the Pro 3605 looks fantastic. The Pro 3605’s look and feel plastic though, but super light. This is fine at the price. The quality of the cable is slightly better than Apple ear-pods with a thin rubber but in the hand it feels more robust. By contrast the in-ear monitors (the part that fits in the ear) are much more robust on the Apple earpods. AKG have the best combination between cable and earphone durability. The microphone is fine, no issues there. It has one really nice button for calls, pause & play. No volume rockers, which is annoying. The unit is on the left cable. This is also fine at the price. One possible dealbreaker. If you have small ears the fit might cause pain after prolonged use. It is comfortable at first, then as time goes on it starts to hurt a bit. I have medium ears, and its annoying but not unbearable. As mentioned earlier, the fit is snug and isolates better than Apple & AKGs - that is the trade-off. For the price these are worth the buy…pretty damn good.

So this is another stop on my journey to review random wired earbuds. I reviewed the less expensive philips and was impressed. At twice the price, are these an improvement? Absolutely. These use the same 1 button remote and mic which function but other headsets in this range have better functionality with their remote/mic. But the sound quality is where these shine. If you want full, non-fatiguing sound and a very comfortable earbud, these are for you. Construction: These feel durable enough. The cable is thick enough that I think it could take some abuse. The buds are light and look attractive with the shiny metallic-y backs. They are on par with other earbuds in this price range. Features: These have a functioning remote and mic, but their use is limited. The remote is a single button that will play/pause music and answer/hang up phone calls. You can't change the volume or change tracks like other sets around this price. The mic works but your caller won't be able to hear you super well. They include extra eartip sizes. Comfort: These are very comfortable for in-ear IEMs. I used the largest tips provided for my big ears and I got a tight seal and then they disappeared. It's also a very secure fit so I could imagine using these in the gym or while on a jog 10 years ago before true-wireless. Sound Quality: If this is your price range and you seek the most balanced sound in this price range, then these are my top recommendation. These sound great and I legitimately prefer them to sets that are twice the price or even more. The bass does have a subtle bump but I wouldn't consider these bass forward. The bass is full and rhythmic and will have you bobbing your head. The mids are very clear and natural. Instruments and voices sound more realistic with these compared to other sets at this price point. Highs are a little soft compared to the bass and mids but this makes them super easy to listen to. There is no harshness or sharpness that will hurt your ears and you can listen for hours. Even with the subpar remote and mic, these are my favorite earbuds out of 5 that I've tested in the $10-$40 range. These are winners.

Arrives in a 2.5" x 6.5" box - could've used less materials - but presentation counts CONSTRUCTION: They have the generic dark grey rubbery plastic buds out of the box and as replacements included - in case you lose one . I like the smooth non-stick rubber shielding around the cables. The cable connections to all the components look like pretty solid (except to the mic section). Other than that area, It doesn't appear that normal "caring" wear and tear will yank wires loose. The ear bud , mic section and jack hardware are made of black plastic PERFORMANCE: Regardless of what music I like to listen to, I like using recordings of real physical musical instruments as a reference to judge audio quality of hardware - so I'm using a meditation sound track of crystal chimes being struck and quartz crystal bowls being rubbed for these ... That high frequency "Tinggggg-NNNNNN-ingggggggg-NNNNNNN-inggggg reverberating strike sound (of the crystal chimes) and the quartz crystal bowls sound good - not spectacular - there's not as much mid to deep lows as I've experienced with some other brands. But, hey, what if these are more accurate and the others are over enhancing the original recording? Noise Cancellation - not great but adequate Volume - I've had other brands that can go higher than this one (need less battery power to drive the mini-speakers) - but it's still good.

Ok, these muggers just arrived, so this is a first listen review - not a longevity assessment. I'm using the earbud covers that the item arrived wearing. They seemed to fit fine. As humans, we have variances, so wear whichever is most comfortable - you have three choices. Now, on to the music. I'm playing from a Sony mp3 player. Before these, I used the OEM earbuds for about 10 years, so I'm pretty good with the care of my electronics. When you see the pictures, you'll understand why I love this old mp3 player. The earbuds, the SOUND, is better than a pair of $100 Audio Technica that I tried about a week ago. They didn't impress me as being as good as the OEM Sonys. For that amount of money, they should blow me away. For $19.90, these Philips give me bass, more mid than I ever heard before, and I have listened to three different kinds of music so far, and all have been satisfying. (I only wish they made players LOUDER - I am the type that would be fine with dying if I could hear music for an eternity.) So, Eisbrecher's Schlachtbank played GREAT. It is a fantastic production, so it would be hard not to play loud enough. Then, Jarvis' Left Overs. Very good! The Go-Go's Our Lips Are Sealed was also very good, except for the part where she sings kind of "dirty/rough" toward the beginning didn't give me that goosebump feeling. Anyway, if you have a good amp, these will rock quite well for less than $20. I would probably even pay $40-45 for these. And I'm pretty cheap & critical. LOL These kick those Audio Technica's behind, and I am so glad I took a leap and got these. If you see no follow up review, it means there's no problems with their longevity. So far, I don't see any defects. HAPPY - H - yeah! (I bought these because I had an old Philips shelf system that I dearly loved and it kicked.) OhMG, Siouxsie and the Banshee's Hong Kong Garden just came on, Kevin Shields' strings remix, and it is f-ng crystal!!!! Front 242's Geography II is also coming through clear and precise.

I would describe these as "typical" for wired earbuds. Perfectly acceptable ear fit, perfectly acceptable cord and plug, perfectly acceptable construction, and perfectly acceptable sound. The bass tones are a little thin and anemic but honestly, you can't expect much bass from lightweight in-ear buds like these so I don't count that against them. Honestly, I got exactly what I expected based on the product description. No surprises, no disappointment, just perfectly average earbuds. I have no complaints whatsoever.
