Nice, yellow glow, but pricey for 12...
The media could not be loaded. I will add this comment to the video- the customer service does seem to care about whether you are happy. I have not corresponded with them at this time, however they did contact me via email after I received them. They just asked if I was happy with my lights. They want the opportunity to right any issues I may have before I leave feedback. I took that as a good sign, that they care enough to make sure their customers are satisfied. You'll see other reviews describing similar experiences with this company.Everything I wanted to relay is in the video, howver I will also say this: I do think that they are a bit overpriced for what you receive. They are nice, and the yellow glow is refreshing vs the usual bluish hue of most lights, but $44.99 for 12 small string lights is a bit much. I spent the extra money because I figured they must be very bright for that kind of money. I don't think they are bright enough to warrant the price. Again, the look of the lights is very nice though, and they do work, so if price is not a variable for you, and you want a nice amber glow with your lights, then I'd say these are for you, but if you're expecting super bright lights because of the price range, then move on.

UPDATED: Product quality awful - 50% failure rate
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought a total of 4 set of these solar lights in June and July this year. Honestly I have used them for a total of about 20 hours all summer. Two of the sets have already stopped working. When turned on at night, having had a full day of solar charge, they last for about 10 minutes before dimming and then going off. The product quality is terrible and I can see the other two sets look likely to do the same thing. Very unhappy especially as they cost so much. Will update review depending on customer service feedback I get but cannot recommend at all.UPDATE: The seller contacted me quickly on seeing my review posted up to try to help resolve my issues. A problem had been identified with the batteries supplied and he offered to send me some replacement batteries straight away, which he did. Throughout he remained extremely helpful and communicative and has followed up professionally since. I have subsequently replaced the rechargeable batteries (turns out they are simple AA rechargeable's) and although not tested things extensively am happy to report that the lights are much brighter. I do need to test them after a few charge and lighting cycles but I'm hopeful this has resolved things. I do want to point out that when working, this product is really good. The customer service has also been excellent so far. Time will tell if there is a bigger underlying fault at play and I will update things accordingly in time.

Still working great after 4-1/2 years
I've had two of these strands since July 2012, and they are only now starting to show their age. I've replaced the batteries twice and have gotten about 1.5 to 2 seasons out of each battery change. The strands light up automatically at dusk and cast a nice warm-white glow. They also have an On/Off switch however I just leave them on all the time which probably reduced the battery life. Mine require a single 3.2V Lion in a AA size which required some searching to find locally. As others have noted, these are primarily for ambiance, and the light levels are not sufficient for general landscape illumination; I have them strung along a fence and the light level suits my needs fine. I do wipe the small solar panel clean occasionally and readjust the orientation if necessary.During warm weather (with newer batteries) they will stay lit all night long and in cooler weather (older batteries) until at least the early AM hours, I've never had them cut out during evening entertaining. During the first couple of years I reeled them up and put them away during the winter but for the last year+ they have stayed up year round. I'm in No CA so winters are not severe. Recently, some of the white plastic globes have started to deteriorate and drop off so this spring I will have to transfer the globes so as to have one strand complete. I'm looking for replacement plastic globes if anyone knows of a source. I expect to get several more years of service from them, all in all they have exceeded my expectations.

Sturdy lights but not 2-1/2"
We bought these to illuminate our balcony since we have no other lights out there. After some deliberation, we decided to hang them along the rail of the balcony (see my photo). In case you are wondering, I used clear packing tape to secure them - obviously not great but a good solution until we come up with something better. They look great and create a nice ambiance at night. Since hanging them up a few weeks ago, we've had nothing but rain & wind. They have survived and light up at night even on overcast days. The lights have rubber balls which are very sturdy and, for lack of a better word, squishy. My almost 3 year old, pulled one off and we reinstalled it no problem by squeezing it back on. My only beef is with the description which states that the balls are 2-1/2 inches. They are, in fact, 2 inches. Regardless, we are very happy with them.Update: 8/1/14It's been two years and the lights no longer work. I noticed this several months ago. Once in a while they light up a little but it doesn't last long. In the past few years, our area did go through several hurricanes (Sandy for one) so who knows if they would have survived longer in calmer weather. At any rate, they were nice while they lasted.
