Does it record steps while driving?

Depends on what you're driving. Cars, not so much. With cows and geese it counted every step and leap I took.

How do you reset it each day?

There is a button on the back. It is flush with the surface, so you have to depress it. Also, you have to hold it down for about 3 seconds to get the reset. Both of these features are good to have since I had to shave off the raised reset button on another make of pedometer to avoid accidental resets on bumping.

I know one person said it didn't stand up to the washing machine, but mine did, and it clocked 1500 steps while it was at it. I didn't discover it until the dryer made too much noise, but it continued to work just fine afterwards.
