Tasty water
I am tired of wasting money on plastic crap that is just going to get thrown away and help pollute our wonderful planet. So I chose this, mainly based on the brand name as well as all the positive reviews that were given. I received it this afternoon and it took me a whole 10 minutes from box opening to turning the water on and letting it flush for 5 min. So 15 min total time for me, but longer for those that don’t pay attention to the instructions or have any common sense. It’s not rocket science. Also this thing isn’t gigantic, it looks a good bit bigger in the pictures. It’s about the same diameter as a Red Bull can and maybe 4” tall (guesstimate). The water flavor is a whole lot better than it is without the filter. So far so good. I have no complaints on this purchase as the price was good, got to me quickly, and seems to work perfectly. I have no regrets on the purchase, I will buy again as needed and will recommend to others. Update: We have run enough water through the first filter for the light to change (from green, to yellow, to red.) to let us know it was time to replace the filter. (which I purchased extra when I bought the unit) I have a chemical chlorine and a ph tester in which I used on the water both unfiltered and filtered. Our town's water does have a good amount of chlorine, which can sometimes be very strong smelling and southeast Florida in some areas are known for a higher lead level in the water supply. I don’t have any idea as to what our lead level is, as I have no way of testing for lead yet, but when I do I will update that info. Anyway, I can’t recall the initial level of chlorine or the initial ph, but the filtered water came out with what appeared to be no chlorine at all and the ph was 6.9. Both the original and the replacement filters produced the same results. So with that, we are very happy with everything that the system has been doing and have had absolutely no issues or problems with any of it including the aftermarket replacement filters. I still have no regrets on this purchase, with the exception of not getting it sooner. Update #2: Went to visit my mom in Texas and unfortunately the water in her town is highly chlorinated which both smells and tastes awful. So, they use a 5 gal water cooler for almost everything at her house and it is very hard for her to go get the bottles filled anywhere, so I pulled the phone out, opened up Amazon and ordered one and some replacement filters for her. Well she loves it, no more 5 gal jugs to have to fill, use, lift or have to worry about. Plus the machine does not get hot or cold and looks like it’s 30 years old. So with that, the water coming out of her kitchen faucet is not stinking of chlorine or anything else and is drinkable right out of the tap. So as soon as the 5 gal jugs are empty, those and the machine are gone. I don’t have my test stuff with me so idk what the chlorine or ph is now, so I can’t say what the results are but I can say I’ve been drinking nothing but tap water since I’ve been here. I will be bringing a bottle of it with me to test when I get home. So if you have crappy tasting water that’s highly chlorinated and smelly, this is what you need. I’ll be buying another again when or if it’s needed. I have absolutely no regrets on this purchase again. No need to look or compare with another, the price is right, it works very well, is easy to install and change filters. Just buy it, you’ll be happy. If I need another I’ll update again if anything is different.

Customer Service Perfection!
The plastic adapters that came with the unit did NOT fit my older inside thread faucet...something I realized after spending an HOUR trying to make it fit...instead of throwing the unit against the wall...which was my FIRST instinct...I calmed down and called their #800...spoke with a wonderful customer service rep who mailed me metal adapters...which I received in approximately a wee... and I was able to install the unit in three minutes!!! In today's environment where it seems as though EVERYTHING is wrong...Brita showcased they're RIGHT ON POINT!!!

Fits Well
Filtration is almost perfect, water flow is the same somehow if not better, the material is plastic but seems sturdy enough with a slight worry of future stripping, I think. The taste is functionally fixed which is great, and it is instant easy use. What more could you expect, works well.

WAY better than the other model!
This is the "electronic" version, i.e., it actually has an LED that changes color as the filter gets to the point it needs changing, instead of a window on the top where you have to use a flashlight to see the filter status. Pros: 1. It filters the water as expected, and the filter status indicator is easy to see. 2. It uses the same filters as the "non-electronic" version (either white or chrome), which is good, because we bought a bunch of spare filters for the chrome unit we just threw out. 3. It mounts to the sink using the same technique and fittings as the non-electronic units. 4. Water flow from the unfiltered side is much better than on the non-electronic units. 5. You get an extra "spray" selection for unfiltered water in addition to the typical "stream"; I'm not sure how much of an advantage this is, but it IS an option you don't get on the non-electronic units. Cons: 1. The LED operates with a battery internal to the sink attachment and supposedly lasts for at least 5 years, but it's not replaceable...when it dies, you have to buy another unit. I can't vouch for battery life, since we just got this unit a couple of months ago. Battery life is extended by having the indicator flash only briefly as you draw filtered water...it's not constantly "On," so you may have to wait for a second or two before the light blinks, showing you the filter status. 2. The instructions say to attach the unit to the faucet using only finger strength to tighten it, but unless your fingers are a lot stronger than mine, you can't get it tight enough to eliminate leaking with fingers alone. I had to use pliers, and it works just fine. WARNING: Use pliers to tighten VERY CAREFULLY. It's a plastic unit and you can easily break something or strip the threads, so tighten very slowly, just a little at a time, and only just enough to stop any leaking. Make sure all of the washers are properly in place before you install the unit on the faucet and make sure you haven't cross-threaded it. It's not that difficult, but if you have the reverse-Midas touch (every DIY task you attempt turns into unusable scrap), have someone with more finesse install it for you. 3. The electronic model only comes in white...only the cheap (as in "poorly designed") model comes in Chrome, but don't be tempted by that model, regardless of color. 4. Water in the "stream" mode tends to spray a bit...at least until the unit is "broken-in" a bit (a couple of days of normal use). I find that if spraying occurs, backing off on the water flow for a second and then increasing it to the desired level again helps to regenerate the expected stream. All in all it's a decent unit that does what it's advertised to do. Don't be sucked in by the less expensive, non-electronic units.

Try it
It worked for about two weeks, then it did exactly what other people said it did. It leaks very heavily on filtration side. But I am going to change my review to a 5 star ⭐️ I contacted customer service and they were extremely helpful and kind. So overall I am pleased.😀

Not what it used to be!!!!
We bought this Brita filtration system around 10 years ago and have been happy with it -- the filters are easy to replace, give a helpful reminder at replacement time, and the 3-position stream selector is a very nice feature. After more than 10 years of good service, it was time to replace the entire system because the middle "stream" position wasn't shutting off when selecting the "filtered water" position. I ignored all the bad reviews here because we were familiar with the product, happy with how well it worked, and how long it lasted. BIG MISTAKE. The new replacement looked identical to our old model. However, as others experienced, I could not get the thing on our faucet! I could take the old one on and off with no problems, but this new model wouldn't stay on. In addition to not staying on the faucet, the "funnel" underneath the unfiltered part popped off! There was no force involved, and it didn't break... it just came off like it was supposed to be removable, yet couldn't be re-attached. Without this piece, the middle position sprayed water all over the place. I checked the old unit and that same part is impossible to remove. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get this new Brita to stay on the faucet and work properly, until I gave up and put the old one back on. I don't know why this newer model isn't like the old one -- they look identical. I wonder if Brita changed manufacturing plants, and something got changed in the transition? I recommend looking for another product over this one, even if you have used the Brita in the past and have been happy with it. After reading similar warnings on the Pur system, I decided to go with the Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter . It doesn't have the nice 3-way streams or filter replacement reminder that this Brita has, but it's cheaper, the water tastes just as good (maybe better?) and it took about 30 seconds to put on our faucet.

Great product for hard water!
Hassle free installation and works great! I can definitely taste the difference in my water! We have very hard water that sometimes has a slight rust color and this makes it come out crystal clear and tasting great!

Problems
Initially, this was very good and I was satisfied with it. The water tasted better. After a few months, the filter I bought for replacements were not good and I was changing them every month. One filter sprung a leak through the top and sprayed all over. The problem with filters may not be related to this Brita but if you can’t order replacement filter that work then you may to but filters elsewhere or buy a different filtering system. I bought a PUR system but am having similar problems with this and the replacement filter also.

Much easier than the jugs, for me, love it!
UPDATE: More than a year later and still going strong, just changed the filter for the first time. As someone who hates to drink tap water that hasn’t been put through a filter, this product is pretty much the dream for me. Having access to filtered water at all times has been amazing, and so far I’ve been very impressed with this water filter. Installing it was easy, it comes with a variety of parts to allow you to attach it to almost any kind of faucet. For me personally, it took less than 5 minutes, just a little twisting and tightening and then I was done. The filter itself has three settings. The first is a unfiltered spray, just letting the water flow right through without anything in the way. This mode tends to be a little messy, but provides you with a lot of water very fast. The second mode is also unfiltered, but is a bit neater and is more controlled for a more even flow. The third mode is the filtered one, and it’s much finer and slower than the other two. A small light will flash when this mode is active, so you know it’s working, and the water will clearly come out of a section of the filter system that is slightly different from the other two. Since the streams are so different, it gives a great visual cue so you won't accidentally have it on the wrong setting. The filtered water seems great to me, and starts working the second you flip the switch, there’s no delay at all. When you’re done with it, just flip it back to one of the other two settings and you’re done. I would advise leaving it on unfiltered as running hot water through the filter is really bad for it, so better to accidentally have unfiltered water than damage the filter. The filtered water is much slower, but it’s not a problem if you’re filling a glass or a bottle. Filling a whole pot or jug with filtered water is quite slow, but I imagine most people will use the other settings for those kinds of things. The actual amount of space taken up by this filter is minimal, but if you have a small sink like I do it is noticeable. Having even then extra space blocked from view by the filter can be annoying, but it’s easy to swivel my tape to the side so it’s out of my way, and most sinks will be large enough that the tiny filter will probable not bother you. If you have a moveable tap especially it won't be a bother. To me, this is much easier than the filter jugs and better value.

Better functionality than the older model
Love the new sprout. Works so much better than the older model! Our old chrome Brita faucet started leaking after 3 years. Interchanging of water flow is much easier on this new model
