Faulty Camera Body
The camera had a wiring issue, rendering it unusable, and when we returned it, it took months of fighting with the company to reimburse the charges. Assuming one got a working body, it would be a great deal. I hope we just ended up getting a lone, defected camera body.

Price is HIGH
No doubt this camera with 15-85 lens is an excellent combination. But, this price is little HIGH. It Should be $1700 to $1800. I have bought one 7D with 15-85 in $2020 in Feb 2012. I got it with decent accessories(32GB Card + Battery + Case + Tripod + UV Filter + Cleaning Accessory Kit) Whoever wants to order, please wait for some more time definitely the price has to come down soon.

Can you say possible "Class Action Law Suit"?
This camera was purchased as the next step in building a professional photography business. Photographing Sky Divers needs multiple frames per second and this seemed to be the best camera for the price. Unfortunately, it has a very bad focusing problem that Canon is refusing to recognize. The Canon reps acted like high school kids, not knowing much about the camera or photography at all. The supervisors keep directing people back and forth and trying to make the photographer feel the problem is his fault rather than the fact that some of their cameras may have a "malfunction" and they don't want to admit it. Here is a link to a forum discussing the problem with many photographers; [...] Some people say their camera is fine so it might just be only 1 camera in 10 but if you are the lucky one to get that 1, good luck getting taken care of by Canon.

Having owned and used Olympus DSLRs for five years, and encountering numerous annoying issues with noise, AF performance and lens selection, I decided to switch systems at the start of this year. Now, after six months of use, I feel I can write a fair and balanced review based on what I've learned. I'll start with wildlife photography. One of my pastimes is bird photography, usually small species such as sparrows, finches and the like. Earlier in the year, when light was poor, I spent a few days at a local reserve, and decided to push the ISO up to 1600. It turns out that 1600 is more than useable, with only minimal work required in Topaz, to totally revive any signs of the small amount of noise that was evident. Combined with the 100-400 L, focusing was fast, quiet and accurate. Small feather detail is retained beautifully. I wound the ISO up to 200 for a brief time, and found it to be very impressive indeed. I've heard some talk about the 7D being noisy at higher ISOs, but unless you've had to use an Olympus system, you have no idea what noise is!! Another plus of the Canon system is the sheer number of third-party gadgets and toys that are available. With this in mind, I agreed to do a band shoot for my cousin. A relatively small sum of money later and I was the owner of a 430EX II, a couple of reflector umbrellas, a Yongnuo Speedlight and some Yongnuo wireless TTL flash triggers. In a low light environment, against a dark background, the focus was spot-on, using both the Canon 17-40 L and Tamron 10-24. The only person happier with the shots than the band members, was me! Recently, the weather managed to sort itself out for long enough for me to do what I actually bought all this new kit for.....I went to an airshow (Duxford Spring Show). Now this was where the Olympus gear had failed pretty hard last year. at this point, I honestly couldn't be happier. I spent most of the day with the AF set to servo and the nine-point grid selected. Even though I still have to perfect the fairly complex AF system, I reckon that out of 700 shots, mostly at slow shutter speeds (prop aircraft), around 80% were hits, with a large percentage of those being of a significantly high enough quality to make me laugh insanely like a Bond villain! The dual Digic IV processors did a great job in tracking everything from a slow-moving Lysander, right up to 400mph flypasts from an F-86 Sabre. All-in-all, I'm extremely happy with this body. Sure it's getting on a bit now, but it still seems to be performing way above its price point. I've even been tempted to buy a second..........but the 7D MkII that may be arriving soon may act as a nice partner, although it'll have to do bloody well to beat this for my needs.
