No negative aspects, positively perfect.
A 0.5mm needle point tip makes for a superior writing instrument: very dark black ink that dries nearly instantly, fluid ink flow which enables smooth writing, even on 20lb printer paper; it also writes on thermal printer paper without skipping, blotching or smearing. The ink is fraud proof, therefore, suitable for document signing. An unexpected attribute of the pen is, if accidentally left in your shirt pocket, placed in the washing machine, and it undergoes an entire cycle of washing, rinsing and spinning, in my case, the pen did not leak ink, nor did it suffer any perceivable damage. I simply disassembled the pen, removed any trapped water, and it performed as perfectly as before the mishap. Outstanding pen in my arsenal. It may be used for drawing purposes equally well.

Just about the ideal pen, especially on cheaper paper like notebooks and legal pads
I don't know what Pentel did with this pen, but it's by far the best everyday-use ink I've ever seen in a pen this cheap. This is the pen that will dry faster than all the others, lay darker lines than all the others, and never, ever bleed on even the roughest paper. I take a lot of notes at work and at home, usually on cheap legal pads from Costco, and this has the best price-performance ratio of any pen I've used. I bought these alongside the uni-ball Vision Rollerball Pens, Micro Point (0.5mm), Black, 4 Count and the Pilot Precise V5 RT Retractable Rolling Ball Pens, Extra Fine Point, 3-Pack, Black Ink (26052) , all in black 0.5mm. I tested them all together and even asked friends and family to test which they liked more - everyone confidently decided that these were the best despite being the cheapest of the three. They write smooth, don't bleed, and dry fast. Not only that, but the lines are confidently darker than the uni-ball Vision and on par with the Precise V5 ink, but without the frequent bleeding, pooling, and slow drying that you sometimes get from liquid inks - Pilot is a particularly egregious offender here if you don't spring for expensive stationery. While the other pens will certainly perform well, especially on nicer paper... they're decidedly more expensive. I got these as an add-on item for $5, which works out to about $1.67 per pen. In addition, you can usually get refills for these pens at around $1 each if you buy in bulk. I felt a little strange for liking these so much, especially since I usually can't stand gel pens, but I reluctantly realized that these simply wrote better than every other pen I had. I can't say much about the build quality or how well the ink will protect you from something like check or signature fraud, though, so consider your options more carefully if that's what you're worried about. In a nutshell, here's my take: Pros: - Never bleeds, even on cheap paper - Dries stupid fast - Surprisingly solid, deep black ink - Flows just as well as comparable liquid ink roller-balls - Dirt cheap considering the quality Cons: - Build quality is questionable - the clip will snap off if you're too rough with it - The grip, while I have no complaints, is a bit thicker than some people with small hands may like Just go for it. If you take a lot of quick notes, are left handed, or have issues with your ink smearing because it doesn't dry fast enough, this will be the best $5 you spend all month.

Great pens!!
Nice writing implement!! Smooth, nice color. Functions well with Fine lines & script. Good ink flow w no leakage. Lasts a good long while for personal use (journaling), but would be well suited to office as well! A great buy!

very nice pens
These are very nice pens. They write smoothly and the ink dries quickly, which is especially good for left-handed people. The pens are a little thicker than some other pens, but they are still comfortable to hold. You can buy this pen in a variety of colors. We have black, blue, and red and all are great. The pens come with tiny caps on the points to keep the ink from drying out, and you have to remove the cap to write with the pen. The pens have a limited lifetime warranty, and you can buy refills for the pens. The pens are modestly priced, and with the refills, they are even more budget friendly. The availability of refills also makes it possible to reduce the waste you are putting into landfills.

Soo good for the money
I love these pens. Now I'm a pen snob. Have bought many more and I try and keep them near. They don't smear, have a fine point. Write beautifully and are affordable. Don't miss out on a quality pen for a low low price.

Great value for the price.
I bought three pens on Nov. 24th and they arrived 2 days later, at which point I gave one away, put one up, and immediately started carrying and using the other. I still use the pen daily. The needle tip is what drew me to these pens in the first place, something about writing with a needle tip is just pleasurable. I do a fair amount of highlighting and I've never had the pen smear. There are a couple of things that hold the pens back from receiving 5 stars, however. Like someone else mentioned, they fall apart--at least mine did. To be fair, it could have had something to do with being carried in my hip pocket daily. First, the middle part where the grip screwed into the barrel refused to stay screwed in place, then the part where the tip screws into the grip started the same thing. I solved it with duct tape. Lastly, it stopped writing for a period of time, but I somehow managed to bring it back to life and it is still going. If I had paid $20 for a pen and had those issues I'd be angry, but this was a $5 set of 3 pens. I'm happy enough with it to buy one of the nicer versions, like the alloy, and put the same gel insert in there. I just wish the nicest model was clickable and not a twist version.

My everyday gel pens
I have these in 0.7 and I thought they were the exact same, until I bought these in red, and saw how fine the point was which is 0.5, and I prefer them over 0.7, I usually like to write small, and neatly, and the smaller the point is helps. I write a lot everyday, journaling and so on and these are my favorite pens to write with on a daily basis! They are super comfortable, long lasting, love them! Love my red ones too so I would definitely recommend this brand overall. As for the point size, that is mainly personal. I feel like with finer points I’m able to write better, with thicker points I think it has too much ink, and smudges easily, but I don’t have a problem with that with needle points. Also love the color, hadn’t seen violet/purple gel pens before and it’s my favorite color. Love them more than pilot G-2, the flow and everything about these pens is fantastic! Will continue to buy these!

Great Pen
The Pentel EnerGel Deluxe RTX Retractable Pens are my go-to when it comes to jotting down notes or tackling my to-do list. They come in a pack of three with different colored barrels, which adds a nice touch of variety to my desk. Let's talk about how these pens perform. The 0.5mm needle point tip writes smoothly and precisely, so my notes always look clean and professional. And the blue ink? It's bold and consistent, which I love. One thing I really appreciate is that these pens are retractable. I can easily click the top button to retract the tip, so I never have to worry about making accidental marks when the pen's in my pocket or bag. Comfort-wise, these pens are great too. They fit nicely in my hand, and the textured grip makes them easy to hold, even during long writing sessions. Durability-wise, they're solid. I've been using mine for weeks now, and they still write just as smoothly as when I first got them. For the price, you really can't beat the value. Three quality pens for the price of one? Count me in. Overall, if you're in need of some reliable pens for everyday use, I'd definitely recommend giving the Pentel EnerGel Deluxe RTX Retractable Pens a try. They're affordable, comfortable to use, and they get the job done right.
