Manual Corn Tortilla Maker by Monarca

La compré con cautela porque vi los reviews y muchos dan mala nota, pero PARA NADA, amé la maquinita, obvio tengo algunos problemas pero no es por la máquina sino porque no estoy acostumbrada a usarla, necesité de otra persona para que la sostuviera y diera vuelta a la manija mientras yo sacaba las tortillas para ponerlas al comal pero soy consciente que es por inexperiencia mía. Se limpia fácil aunque hay que tener cuidado con los cortadores de masa en la limpieza (y también mientras se usa para hacer las tortillas) para no lastimarse un dedo o reventar los hilos (ojalá me dijeran donde podría conseguir la refacción de esos hilos de alambre para cuando les necesite) solamente les dejé caer espuma y dejé correr el agua hasta que la masa se desprendió. Las primeras 2 tortillas fueron un desastre hasta que, insisto, puse a mi esposo a ayudarme jajaja. Como mexicana viviendo en el extranjero ya NECESITABA ese sabor casero en las tortillas y sobretodo una tortilla delgada porque aunque acá donde vivo sí venden tortillas en los supermercados la verdad saben a conservadores (no es un sabor muy agradable, se sabe) y como usuaria de tortilladoras manuales, quienes las hemos usado, sabemos que salen muy gruesas. Si por mi fuera le daría 10 estrellas pero solamente hay 5 de top para calificar. Pd. Lo azul que sale en la foto 1 es parte de mi guante, no forma parte de la máquina jajajaja.

The machine was broken when I received it. I didn't return it because it would cost me a lot to have it returned. The old wooden/ceramic ones work a lot better - I know because we had one growing up. We made tamales & corn tortillas with it - in a given day I could make over 100 tamales. I wish the old ones were still around because of the weight of the ceramic pins made it easier to use. With the old ones there was no need for mounting. I'm going to see if I can have the rolling pin parts replaced with ceramic ones... It's too bad this machine doesn't work like I was expecting it to - I'm very disappointed.

Perfect product! DOES NOT REQUIRED to be a scient as no instruction but USE Common sense or bit or gray matter! Machine or dough do not required OIL!! I just worked on the Corn dough right consistency. Now I can make our own healthy tortillas with seeds, herbs or even veggies. Shown photo is corn tortillas with flax, chia & quinoa seeds (boiled), a bit of celtic salt and water, that's all! Tortillas are thin but looks that thickness can be adjusted, will check it out, will use my brain again :) KUDOS!

As an owner of my own business I was excited to purchase this product to add to my already stocked kitchen. I received this tortilla maker in 2 days but what a HUGE disappointment! The item was cheaply made and 3 parts were broken in the shipping box making it impossible to use even once. Now I am waiting to get my refund and hope that I do. DON'T waste your money people!

The biggest problem is that there is a lot of metal shavings transferring to the masa. At first I tried to “cure” it by rolling masa to pickup impurities but after an hour trying to clean it I noticed the friction with the top part and the rolls is pulverizing the sides of the rolls. Also there is no manual. It is true that all I had to do is install the handle but I had to look in youtube how to adjust the tortilla’s thickness and what are those wires for (I was about to cut it). With the right consistency and enough masa at the top the tortillas come out very cute and uniform. I am really sad that I have to return it for health reasons.

Arrived early, that is awsome but has no instructions....searching youtub for instructional videos is like solving a Chinese puzzle ..Item covered in metal shavings and stained in grease has no instructions
