McGraw-Hill's DAT with CD-ROM (Mcgraw-Hill Test prep) 1st Edition

Okay I am giving it a 4 because it is HELPFUL but not necessarily the best. I think its a good addition to your practice test arsenal and gives you a good taste to see where you are in your studying. Not gonna lie the Perceptual ability tests are RANDOM and a little too easy but I think their approach, especially for keyholes, helps you visualize things in your mind a lot better. Like any other book, practice test, etc this material is to help you and guide you. I don't think anything can ever rank to the actual exam but any and everything will help. So try it out if you want something (cheap) basic to start with. I'll be honest I haven't read the book, I'm using another material(just because I started using my other book, but this one isn't bad. I skimmed through some chapters) but I do use the practice exams.*Also I have the Kindle Edition*

This Study Guide covers all the necessary topics in great detail (Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, Reading comprehension, Mathematics). The questions are of the same difficulty level as the DAT. There are interesting (and useful) Perceptual Ability tests. In addition to the written guide is a CD-ROM which makes studying more flexible. This is the best DAT book I've seen.

There were a few typos in this text that caused some confusion. But the diagrams and wide coverage of topics was great.

I've bought multiple DAT test prep books, and this one is the most thorough, clear, and direct of them all. When reading the other books if I came by confusing wording I would refer to this book to clear up any questions I had.

not what you need in a book for DAT. look elsewhere

Study, Study, Study. Take as many practice exams as possible.

Good book

This is not a very good nor a very thorough book to buy. The online practice tests may entice you however these tests are much too easy in comparison with the real DAT. I only used this book a couple of times and did random questions. The biology section is a good sort of outline to use however I definitely do not recommend using this book by itself. Compared to the REAL DAT i would say this was somewhat too easy especially in biology. Not a bad DAT book. Pretty good if you have a science background already.Pros:-easy to read format, Bio and Chem sections are quite detailed but still pretty good to understand-PAT section explains each part well but suffers from easy examples-Chem section has lots of actual problems listed as opposed to tons of theory..which is more helpful for the actual test-RC has good advice and info on types of questions askedCons:-WAY TOO EASY practice tests... they do not represent the type of questions on the real test, especially PAT section.. RC is ok and science was easy but PAT section is nowhere near as hard as what you see on test day-wish Bio had more photos.. its easy to understand but if you have a weak science background you might need help here-I cannot comment on Orgo and Math since Canadian DAT doesnt require itOverall: decent book for Sciences and RC. You can use ExamKrackers science if you need more help.I think my PAT score would be higher if I had more practice..I strongly recommend buying more practice tests if you buy this book. But if I write it again I will use it for the science/RC sections for sure.
