Great smaller backpack that's still big on size
I purchased the Case Logic DLBP-114 backpack after a couple nights of web research while watching TV. I was looking for a bag that would give a somewhat professional look (I know, sometimes at a certain point a backpack for a working adult can only look so professional). I had been using a messenger bag but I wanted to be able to disperse weight over both shoulders and not have a bag that banged against my leg when I walked. Things I looked for in a backpack: - Professional look (no bright color or loud pattern) - Smaller footprint (I'm not a student looking to carry books and lunch) - Price ($25-35 range) - Good style I have had the bag just over a month and I am really loving the backpack. I got it for just under $24 so the price was right. The black color is great and the touch of red isn't too loud (being in Lincoln, Nebraska, red is quite popular so it works even in a professional environment for most people). I like the cosmetic cross stitching on the front pocket, it gives a nice look and breaks it up versus an all flat look. For me (6'1" male) the backpack is comfortable and the straps sit well. I love the addition of built in Velcro straps to wrangle in the excess strap length. The smaller footprint is the biggest selling point on the bag for me. It is only about 7 inches deep (as in the space from your back out horizontally while wearing it) but has plenty of space. So many backpacks stick out far and make you look like a student or like you are going on a trek. Also the bigger the bag gets the more I fill it, adding weight. I keep a 13" Macbook Air, iPad Mini, Jambox speaker, Nintendo 2ds, 5 pens/pencils, 4 small gadget bags (chargers, usb drives, adapters), a notebook, keys, wallet, gum, chap-stick and always have a bit more space for other random things. The laptop portion has ok protection. I am considering buying another one to keep in storage for a couple years from now as a replacement since I use the bag five days a week at a minimum. It's an amazing bag and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a smaller backpack that still has a couple organizational pockets in it.

perfect for my macbook and plethora of gear
I use this for my macbook pro. I like that it has the padded section within the main compartment. In the main compartment, I also keep a large external power bank (anker 735, look it up to see the size), a bottle of water (sealed of course), and a bag that contains accessories for my macbook, headphones, wires, etc. In the front zipper compartment, I keep a couple packs of tissues, snacks sometimes, and sometimes a small toiletry bag if I'm staying overnight somewhere. In the little zipper compartment which is in the front zipper compartment, kind of hidden, I keep my three wallet sized power banks, (I know, that's a lot of external power, but I need to be prepared for anything when riding mobility link), and a spare set of earbuds. Then in the small outer zipper compartment on the top, I keep a chapstick and any other miscelaneous odds and ends that I want quick access to. I keep my android media player in one of the small zip side pockets. My only gripe about this backpack is it doesn't have a water bottle compartment, and the material on the inside of the top small compartment is kind of fleece lined, and uncomfortable on sensitive skin. Overall, this is a great backpack, and holds a ton, believe me, I load test these things, lol.

Great Deal at $27!
I got the bag for $27 via Amazon Prime and I must admit, this is the best bag I have ever owned. The bag is not meant to be a store-everything bag. It stores all of the essentials only, hence the slim profile. What I manage to fit in the bag: 14" Lenovo Y480 - a gaming laptop - fits snug into the laptop compartment, 1" Binder, 150 Page Notebook, Laptop Charger - one of the side pockets Headphones, Sharpener, Stapler and Eraser - other side pocket Pencil Pouch, Pens, Pencils, Markers and other and Calculator - front pocket Phone Charger - felt-lined pocket The shoulder straps are a bit broad (wider), but I like it is easier to wear than on your neck area. It is very comfortable and very light; I have no problem carrying it (with all that mentioned above) for 8-10 hours a day when at school. Haven't had any problems with the quality as it looks and feels durable. Been using it for about a week now, so will update if anything goes wrong. So far, best value bag I ever bought! Edit: I still own and use this bag! Still zero issues and holds up cosmetically well, too!

Basic bag with a few welcome extras.
Bought this because it looked quite compact and I only wanted something small to fit a 13" ultra-book, power cord, mouse, and maybe a few files. What arrived was a little bigger than I expected (still quite compact just not as small as the photos and description suggested) and quality seems to be around the 'middle-of-the-road' as far as laptop bags go. A few extra pockets that I thought might be gimmicky turned out to be quite OK, especially the lined pocket at the top which is good for a 2.5" external drive (although Case Logic suggests using it for sunglasses). While the shoulder straps have vented mesh, the surface that mounts against the back is just the basic padded nylon so I expect this will sweat against the back on a warm day. Padding is also quite minimal in that area so I don't expect it to be too comfortable if I load it up or carry it too far. The 13" Acer ultra-book sits with quite a bit of space around it and although the description states 14" PC/13" Macbook, I also have a 15.6" widescreen and that sits in the bag with maybe a millimeter or two to spare. In fact, I am able to fit both laptops in the bag although the ultra-book ends up in the un-padded compartment. My one complaint is that there is no way of strapping the ultra-book down into the laptop pocket and so it's free to move about and while this isn't too big of a problem when the bag is upright, there is no padding at the top of the bag where the zip is so if it fell and landed upside down, it could drop into the unprotected area and get damaged. I will probably sew a Velcro strap into the lining to keep it in place. All in all, not a bad bag for carting the ultra-book around, not too cumbersome, has a bit of style/shape to it, and the main zip (larger and sturdier than the ones on the accessory pockets) looks as though it can take a hammering. I bought this at $19 so got very good value for money spent. EDIT: April 13, 2013. This bag has been everywhere with me since purchasing. It's copped a hammering and like the Timex ad, it's copped a lickin' and still keeps on tickin'. There are no visible signs of wear. The small lined pouch gets used for keeping mp3 player, headphones, memory cards and USB sticks safe, works well, and is conveniently located. The small side pockets get used for a first aid kits on one side and sweets on the other (not much use for anything bigger). Especially like being able to load it up with a 13" ultrabook as well as a 15.7" widescreen laptop as well as chargers. It gets full and it is heavy, but the bag copes exceptionally well with no sign of seam splitting or zipper dameage.

Very good job Case Logic
Ok so I bought this for my ASUS U32U-ES21 13.3 laptop and let me tell you it fits like a charm in the bag. The compartment for the laptop is well protected with padding from the inside the bag, as well as from the back. The main compartment which is split into two (for the laptop and for chargers, cables or books or a tablet) is quite fine and can fit a decent amount of stuff. The small compartment in the front is fine for small objects. The sunglass or cellphone case in the front is pretty good, as are the side pockets for small objects. In general the quality of the backpack is pretty good as you would expect for a Case Logic product. I highly recommend this backpack for laptops that size, it's not bulky at all, it's aesthetically pleasing, provides protection and is practical.

Great Value
This bag replaced my traditional over-the-shoulder laptop bag has been perfect for my needs of carrying a MacBook Air (in a protective sleeve) and a few folders worth of papers. Pros: -- Shoulder straps are comfortable. -- The layout is excellent. In fact, it's actually shocking how much stuff you can fit in it even though the footprint is much smaller than the bag I was using before. -- Side pouches are great for a mouse, headphones, etc. -- Top zipper pouch is perfect for wallet & keys. -- Front pouch has tons of areas inside and areas for phones, pens, business cards, extra batteries and whatnot. -- Good quality Minor cons (if you could call them that): -- If you have a lot of items in the bag, don't drop your keys down the front zipper pouch -- they will get lost, especially if you have a lot of other items together in the bottom of the front zipper pouch. That's why I now use the top zipper pouch, which is perfect. -- I primarily wear this bag over one shoulder but, when wearing it as an actual backpack, the straps seem to sit ever so slightly low on my shoulders. However, I haven't even attempted to adjust them so it's probably pilot error and is really not an issue for me. -- There is no strap across the back for attaching to pop-up luggage handle and I really wish there was one. Final Assessment: Great value. Would highly recommend.

Reliable brand, lasted 11 years!
Amazon shows I bought this 11 years ago. It lasted 4 laptops 13-15.6in! Now it finally frayed. The 15.6in Dell bangs and pokes out slightly on the top. I had to buy a new one but regret not realizing this is still available, at 40% higher price than 11 years ago. I love the pockets that are all strategically placed. It holds ton, while still maintain a small profile. The only non-perfection is it this not have a bottle holder.

Case Logic Macbook laptop backpack
Typical excellent Case Logic quality. It's a little smaller that I thought it would be but no problem. There's not much else to say other than it's well worth the price. *Update* It's been a few months now of constantly using my Case Logic backpack and I still love it. Sometimes I wish it was just a little bigger but the compact size is what I wanted. The things I usually carry in it: 1. Mackbook 13" with power supply and wireless mouse 2. Apple iPad and charger 3. Kindle ebook reader and charger 4. USB external hard drive 5. Digital camera and charging cable 6. Misc. USB card readers, travel drives and any other small items I need to carry Side zipper pockets are small but are good for USB travel drives or small cell phones. Does not fit my Galaxy S2 Android phone. That fits in the small top zipper pocket. The strap across the bottom front has proven to come in handy for clipping things on. All in all it's a great little backpack for things like I carry but I'm sure would be too small for a student with laptop and BOOKS.

Looks are deceiving
Looks very good in the pics but the actual product isn't even close. The strange thing is that now I cannot even the 3000+ reviews of the product from the same buyer. Something isnt right
