I have two of these to add humidity for my small group of orchid plants. I discovered that the unit will quit working if the base becomes overfilled with water; so, be careful not to jiggle it or it will burp and overfill. I also found that efficiency was lost after a while and, although I use distilled water, it helped to remove the lid on the base and wipe away the scuzzy film with q-tips. Later notes: I am now happily using three of these for my orchid plants. I've discovered the secret to getting excellent humidifying> As I put the 'plug' into the filled bottle I depress the plunger to release any internal pressure built up as I tighten the plug into place. Hope this makes sense because I am now getting great humidity for fussy orchid plants. Also, I use distilled water only and have to rarely clean scuzz from the devices.

Doesn't actually close. There's no mechanic to the lid. it just sits on top. doesn't snap in, doesn't lock. Sits on top loosely. Anytime a bubble comes up into the bottle, it moves the lid and leaks water everywhere. 3 days in a row now, it's on for a few hours. I open the tent and the floor is covered in water and the bottle is empty. Note useful, AT ALL. This is just a complete failure of a product.

The unit may not work properly at first as mentioned in other reviews. My did the same thing but I was able to work out the kinks and I hope this information is helpful to you. The first night of use the unit started ok but when I woke up in the morning no steam was coming out but it was still running. This is what I have found out since. The first night or two operate it at full capacity. Make sure that you do not move it once it has been set up with the water bottle attached. I have found that if it is bumped it tends to add more water than needed to the unit causing it not to operate properly. I do notice a difference between the whole room humidifier and the smaller one. The whole room is more "satisfying" but this individual version is adequate to add some moisture to the air. I still want the whole room one in addition and not instead of this unit since I use it regularly and am sensitive to the difference to the air between the larger unit and this one. Great to use when traveling. I hope this helps.

I used these Last year to humidify my cheese refrigerator, worked great, the. Died after months of neglect. This year I bought two, one failed to,work at all. The other kinda worked if I fiddled with it. The vendor was great about sending a replacement. The replacement kinda worked, it would mist a bit, quit and then I’d fiddled with it and get it to run a bit. Now after a few weeks they just don ‘t work.I’ve cleaned the system and did everything possible, they just don’t work. Once a good product, now a waste of. Money. Find something else.

I bought this for my office. Can't get it to work with the bottle in it. When I fill it with water alone with no bottle on it, it works most of the time. My opinion, I wasted my money.

I just got this today, but it is the last (I hope) in a long succession of misters. I make cheese, and part of the process is ripening the cheese in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Well, I originally bought a simple mister; it turned off and on with a button. The problem, which I worked around by gluing the button down, was that when the humidity controller turned off, it shut off the mister, but when the controller would turn back on, the mister would stay off. And it was great, until the mister stopped working. So I ordered another one, which stopped working. So I ordered another one that I couldn't figure out how to make "always on". I think I've ordered and tried probably 10 different models over the last two years. Misters are so complicated now-lights, flashing lights, auto shut off after a period of time. It's almost impossible to find one that is just off or on. And then I found this one. NO BUTTON! A dial that will STAY ON. And it plugs into electric instead of a USB. Like I said, this is my first day with this and I hope it lasts at least a month or two, at least till my cheese ripens.

This is a very weak personal humidifier. On the maximum setting, it will process a bottle of water in 12-16 hours which is clearly an indication that it simply is not putting out much humidity. The output port is also very small which is in line with the amount of humidity being discharged. The adapter that is put in the water bottle to connect it to the device is a bit awkward and can easily leak when putting a full bottle on the device. It does have a blue LED indicating that it is running and a red LED to indicate that it has run out of water. There are other devices for more money which can put out considerably more humidity and will process a bottle of water in 6-8 hours when on the maximum setting. Spend more and get a better device.

Do not buy this humidifier. I plugged it in and no mist came out. I gave it a little jiggle and it stopped working altogether. Tried emptying it and re-starting it but it still will not work. Did not even get a single use out of it.

We had to return this as it stopped functioning after 7 days of use. Seller was supportive in the return tho, so full marks to the vendor - just not for this product.
