I was planning on writing a review once the batteries finally died, two D sized batteries, which I assumed would've happened within a year of purchase. Two years and two months later, the clock finally quit. I used the brand of batteries that we all know by name that starts with a "D" for the record. I remember it taking a long time for me to find this product; I needed a NON-plug-in type of digital clock for a small room. Finally found this one, and it fit what I needed perfectly: good sized red numbers on a black background that I could hopefully see during the day without the plug-in power. It was perfect size and as long as it's not in direct sunlight, can easily read it on sunny days in a moderately shaded room. Could likely see it in a full sun room but would need to have it closer and obviously not in direct sunlight. Funny thing, I found out only when I just replaced the batteries that it apparently has three brightness settings, tho is still hard to tell (possibly only two settings). I *may* have had it set to a lower brightness this whole time, hence the batteries lasting full two years... ...with only ONE time that I had to advance the clock a minute to catch up. So it lost only just over a minute during the two years. And for the last month, it finally peetered out by having the display get more and more dim until there was finally no display. Changed the batteries, set to highest bright setting, and it's great again. It'll go down in Amazon buying history as a "top-ten-percentile best-products" list for me. It's so difficult to find the red/black clocks that are battery powered at this size and can readily be seen in most lighting conditions. A useful, helpful, and long-lasting product at a reasonable price; not inexpensive, but fairly priced based on lack of this specific type of product on the market (battery powered and good size/colors). Over two years later, very happy, great product. Would buy again in a second, and will in the near future when I move and need another clock for another room. Huge cheers!

Perfect for my elderly mother, who struggles with reading a hand clock, to see at night. Digital numbers are large enough for her to see across the room.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Such a great purchase! Very easy to read at all hours of the night. Not too bright. The green color is not "alarming" like the color red. It does have an alarm, but I don't really need it. I've accidentally turned on the alarm and when it sounds it is very loud and disturbing! I prefer a gentle calm setting that I have on my smart phone or iPad. But I don't want to have to grab at my phone to check the time during my sleeping hours. No cords. Just batteries. And a nail or a screw in the wall to hang it on.

I am blind as a bat, so having a bedroom clock with huge numbers is great for seeing across the room without my glasses. I bought the green. It is not so bright that it will keep you awake at night, but you can still read it easily. It takes DD batteries that you have to buy, but it eliminates another corded item that I have to find an empty outlet for. Great for the price.

Small, simple clock. No frills. I am changing my last review. The clock stopped working with new batteries replacement after 18 mos. On second observation, testing the batteries: one of the new batteries was not functioning. We replaced the new, non functioning battery and now the clock is running fine.

Pros: The numbers are big and easy to read. Putting alarm on and off is easy. The alarm is a loud. Cons: The light stays on and is very bright, even on low settings. You cannot individualize the alarm days, so if you want to sleep in on the weekends or days off, you have to manually shut off the alarm and then remember to put it back on. :(

Exactly what I was looking for. 3 inch high digits with adjustable brightness and battery-operated. Perfect my Dad who has reduced vision. He doesn’t need an alarm so I’m not using that - just the time.
