So far so good, pleasantly surprised! Fast, quiet and accurate! Nice and compact too!
I needed a small compact high output (100 +) psi pump and so far so good. I love the digital preset psi set and wait feature, I used/tested this a few times and my unit has either been spot on or within 1 or 2 psi which is fine with me. I purchased this to top off my high psi RV tires as needed, it took me from 50 psi to 70 psi with ease and in no time at all, I was definitely impressed with it's performance! The one thing I added was a Jayco quick connect chuck to simplify the screw on/off chuck but that was just my preference, definitely not needed, just make's life easier for me. I do own a larger Viair unit for heaver use but this smaller unit might just be capable enough for most of my needs. Hits 70 psi with ease. I'm a big fan of Viair products so I'm hoping it'll hold up over time. If you're looking for a compact 120 psi digital compressor with a digital preset psi, I wouldn't hesitate, this is definitely a solid lil unit. Not saying it'll fill 33's all day long but for most suv's, pickups and light RV's, this will do the job. I'm using it fill my 17" BF KO2's that hold 70 psi when I off road and to adjust here and there in the cold weather.

Great pump, small flaw.
Love this pump. Well made and handles the task perfectly. Inflates quick and accuratetly to the set presure. Move to the next tire it remembers the previus setting so its ready to go. If I had to critize, it would be the location of the air hose exit. When stored the hose sticks out of the housing and sees lots of sharp angles and bends. I see this aa a potencial point of failure. Relocate it Viair for a pruduct that will last forever. Would buy again, great at its price range.

reliable, fast tire inflator to carry in your car
I bought this tire inflator in 2017 and I have come back to d a review because it has been so good. I use it often, a few times a week. It has way more power that an inflator with a cigarette adapter because of the direct connection to the battery. It is still going strong after all this time and is a great unit. The only down side is that the metal heat sink gets very hot in the summer after inflating a few tires from about 10PSI to 40PSI. I usually let it cool down when the heat sink is too hot to touch between tires so it is not really a problem.

One of, if not the fastest tire inflator in this price range
Viair 88P review: My original unit was purchased in January 2013 from Amazon and is still in use. It has been stored in my car(s) trunk for the past 12 years and has been indirectly exposed to both freezing temperatures in the winter and very high temperatures in the summer. It has been used multiple times throughout these years and there is no sign of rubber cracking or wear. The pump works as good as new. When storing, I make a conscious effort to avoid any serious bends or kinks in the air hose. I used my old unit today to inflate 3 vehicles (12 tires) to the appropriate spec about 5 PSI per tire with an outdoor temp of 35 degrees F. It worked like the day I purchased it. It tends to get hot if running for an extended duration, but has never overheated to the point of failure. It has instructions on duration of use to prevent overheating. Trading a bit of extra time & effort is worth it - attaching this to the battery terminal is what makes this little unit the fastest tire inflator in this price range. I just purchased a second unit for our second home. The build quality appears similar and I'm hoping it will last another 10+ years. The current price is about $20 more than it was in 2013. The nylon carrying case is great to have.

Great as long as my rear passenger tire does not need air
Short version of review: Yes I like it, yes I'd recommend it, yes I'd buy it again. I'm only giving it 4-stars because I cant deduct a half a star for minor gripes. I picked this particular pump mainly due to another review which compared all the Viair models. Dont recall the reviewers name, but he compares all the models by spec and does an excellent job of identifying why he things the 88P is the best of the bunch. I needed a portable pump because I need to fill my RV tires at the storage yard or on the road (trailer tires at 65 PSI are notorious for loosing pressure between trips). I picked this model because of the duty cycle, CFM at high pressure and overall build. I've only had it a couple of days and it meets all my expectations. Obviously I cant comment on the long term reliability of the unit. It does not plug into your cigarette adapter, it has two clips to attach directly to your battery, which I think is a plus. Several people have noted the wires seem thin. While I agree they look thin, they did not get warm during a reasonably long operation of the pump. So I'd say the the gauge wire is appropriate to the intended use. Others also complained about the accuracy of the pressure gauge. I found it reads a few PSI low at 50-65 PSI, but the offset seems repeatable, so if you know it reads 3 or 5 PSI low and you are filling to 65 PSI, you fill the tire to 69 or 70 and then when your done check and correct with your digital pressure gauge. The air hose is nice and screws directly onto the tire valve. The unit gets pretty hot when being operated, but that is to be expected for these devices. As I said before, this unit does what you expect and does it fairly well. Now to what I didn't like No case. As others have said, for this price this pump should have come with a bag. I bought the recommended $10 black bag at the bottom of the Amazon page and it does the job well. Just annoying you have to spend another $10 when other models by this manufacturer come with a bag. 2nd nit. I have a Tundra Long bed pick up. Guess what? The cord, air line combo wont reach to my passenger side rear tire. It needs to be another 3 or 4 feet long. I assume it will be fine for most cars and trucks, but I guess you cant cover everything. I used my jumper cables as an extension cord (be careful not to let the two loose ends touch!) and was able to put air in my tire. Even though my tires are 33 PSI in the truck, it took a minute or two to fill up the 5 PSI I had let out to test the Viair due to the volume of air in my tires. But for emergency field use it works fine. By the way, I knew the cables would not reach between my truck and trailer without disconnectng the truck and moving close to the trailer wheels. But trailer has a 12V battery that is fairly easy to take out and move to the tires, which is what I did. So, except for a couple of fairly petty complaints I think this is a great item and would recommend it.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE!
Purchased this so I wouldn't have to fuss around at the gas station anymore to put air in my tires, etc. Great portable air compressor; easy to use, clear instructions, and does the job well. I'm VERY pleased with my purchase and it gives me peace of mind that I can put air in my Honda CRV tires easily and safely at home, on the road, etc.

great little compressor
i decided to get me a compressor because i just spent $3 trying to fill up my tires at a gas station and that didn't fix my low tire pressure warning. the gauge wasn't consistent, and for some reason the chuck didn't attach well to my tire. being able to do it at home before i go anywhere, actually lets me fill up at cold pressure, as opposed to driving to a gas station a few miles away, which may or may not work. plus, i can fill it up at my own leisure, instead of rushing to get everything done before the machine shuts off and i have to add another $1. decided to get this one because of the good ratings, total hose/cord lengh and it connected directly to the battery, instead of the cigarette lighter. my car only can do up to 10A, so that prevented me from getting a decent lighter port compressor. the 88p works great so far. fills up my tires quickly. the screw on chuck is secure, the unit isn't too loud when inflating. the clips are a little short, but i can work with it. the length of both the hose and power cord give me plenty of reach for the tires on my car. because the screw on is secure, i can go and stay by the unit and not have to worry about it coming off. unlike some of viair's higher end compressors, the gauge is built-in to the handle of the unit, as opposed to having the gauge at the chuck end. this is great because the gauge is right next to the power switch. you don't have to turn it off, and walk over to the tire to look at the gauge. the gauge seems pretty consistent. based on my nissan leaf's easy tire alert system (which honks once when it's filled to 36 psi, and honks multiple times when it gets to 40 psi), the gauge is 2 psi high. that, compared to my tiretek tire gauge, which is only 1 psi high. the tiretek gauge is only 60 psi though, so based on max psi (88p's 120 psi vs tiretek's 60 psi), both are high, but within their 2% specs. one thing that would be nice is a pressure release valve. but i knew that going in and since my other tire gauge has a value, i just over inflate it a bit and use my tire gauge to bring it back down. the unit does get hot when filling up tires (i deflated my tires to about 30 psi, and filled them all back up to 40), so maybe add in a little break time before putting it away. note: this does NOT come with a bag. i'm using a duffle bag that's a little on the big side, but i'm using it to hold my other tire gauge and bag of tire caps as well. another plus with the bigger bag is that i can put it in the bag without zipping it up so that it can cool down without touching the sides of the bag at all. i have not and probably won't use the tips, so i can't say anything about those.

Tire Compressor
I am totally impressed with the compressor. Extremely well made but compact and light. It’s easy to use and very efficient. I have an SUV which I tried to inflate the tires with battery compressors and they both failed. With this unit there is excellent power and the 4 tires were inflated in less than 5 mins. I highly recommend this unit. Excellent compressor that you can depend on. It came with a case for easy storage.
