Mellow Model H - Roxbury Twin

I’ve never bought anything off Amazon that doesn’t have a review. However, I needed an XL single bed frame for my son who is 6”2” tall. I wanted a frame that looked good, was sturdy, easy to assemble and would not have a footboard so my son could hang his feet over the edge of the mattress if necessary. This was the only frame on Amazon that fitted all my criteria at my price level. I was concerned about the quality, that the frame would be creaky and make noise, and whether the mattress would stay in place. I took a gamble with no reviews to go by, and I feel it’s paid off. This frame came double-boxed (thankfully as the outside box had a big gash in it) and I was able to manage to get it upstairs by myself (it’s heavy, but doable by flipping end over end up the stairs). The bed was wrapped well and came with great instructions - but I didn’t need to use them - it’s so simple to set up as it’s all one piece. Took me all of 2 minutes to unfold and set up. It took longer to get the bed out of the box than it did to assemble! It looks great, feels very sturdy, and does not make any noise when someone is moving around on it. The best part is that it will be easy to pack and store for any future moves. It would make a great sleepover bed as you could store it under another bed, and much cheaper than a trundle. The mattress did move around on it, but I had a spare non-slip rug pad that I placed under the mattress, and so far it feels like this will hold the mattress in place (have not yet tested it when sleeping). If that doesn’t work, I’ll stick some Velcro strips onto the frame and on the bottom of the mattress and I know that will work for sure. I’ve yet to test the bed frame out for sleeping, and have no idea how well it will hold up long term - but it looks so well made I can’t see any problems. I’ll try to remember to come back in a few months for a follow up. Best part of all, it looks like an expensive bed frame, but was 1/4 of the price I expected to pay for something like this.

I got two twin xl beds to make a regular king size bed. The quality of materials and build is good i.e. does not feel cheap. The installation was very easy & can be done by one person. The bed frame is sturdy, stable, does not creak and had no issues in 2 years. I think this is a highly underrated bed on Amazon. Of course YMMV if you choose bigger sizes like queen or king. The larger the metal body, the more likely it is to creak. The only complaint is that the gaps between the metal slats can be too much for some mattresses. If i remember correctly, the gap was like 5.5 inches or so. My premium foam mattresses need under 4 inches or so. So, i had to get other foldable slats and place them between the bed and mattress. You could also get a bunkie board which has no slats or gaps.

I bought this bed because it looked sturdy but was also easily assembled and disassembled and foldable to remove if necessary and I was very pleased that it is exactly as advertised. It folds easily in half if you need the floor space and just as easily folds out and secures with 4 corner bolts. Very well designed and sturdy, no creaking. Enough clearance off floor to add baskets for storage underneath. Can be used with or without a box spring. Great bed, great value, super easy set up.

Since I had to put the bed under a window, I was looking for a low see through head board that doesn't cover the window. This one works for me and I left space between the bed and the wall for the curtains to fall nicely to the floor. The set up was super easy. I set it up myself while my husband was at work. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I still have to figure out how to put a bed skirt on it without having to lift a huge memory foam mattress, but even if I could the bed skirt would slide on the metal platform when we put the mattress on top of it. Otherwise it's a nice sturdy enough platform bed. Sometimes the mattress slides a bit but is easy to push it back.

Great bed for the price. Very sturdy. I read that some people say it squeaks. When you se the bed up, use the tool it comes with to retighten the screws that are already assembled on the bed. The screws may have been loosened while in storage, but we went around the bed and tightened everything. Bed is quiet as a mouse! Very sturdy, very easy to assemble - it comes already assembled, you just pull it out and put in four bolts to keep it from closing. We have a king mattress and box spring on ours and it works well together. There isn't a lip on the sides to hold the mattress but a king size mattress set is pretty heavy and sturdy so it doesn't move around. very satisfied with the purchase. nice, inexpensive bed frame with great quality.

I really love the look of this bed, but unfortunately it came already scratched in several places on the metal headboard (Possibly from shipping as the box looks like it took a beating). It feels a little too overwhelming to have to put it back in the box and figure out how to return it when it is so large. It was very easy to put together and would also be very easy to store or move in the future. The look is very masculine and perfect for a boys room. I would give it higher stars if the metal didn’t look so beat up all over. I included just a couple of the spots but they were truly all over the headboard.

One of the metal pieces attached to the headboard arrived bent, which is my sole complaint. With a little manipulating, I was able to bend it back enough to where it doesn't affect the integrity of the bed. Anyway, this frame is amazing! Genuinely, the hardest part of assembly was pushing the massive/heavy box up my stairs. It took me all of ten minutes to unfold, bolt, and set up the frame and it looks great! As a bed that I needed in a pinch for my guest room, I can't ask for much more from a frame at this price point. Great value, easy assembly/disassembly, and seems sturdy.
