Gorgeous and Sturdy!
I really love this umbrella and I'm so glad I went with the terra cotta. It came very quickly in a sturdy box and it was extremely easy to unpack. It looks wonderful with our Strathwood St. Thomas patio set also purchased on Amazon. We're using the 50lb Market Umbrella Base which is beautiful as well as very well-made, and HEAVY. I really don't have any qualms about putting this umbrella out when there's some wind. Of course, common sense applies, one wouldn't want to put the umbrella out when the winds are whipping about. We have it out right now with 15 mile per hour winds and it's doing quite fine. Using this umbrella with the 50lb Market Umbrella Base makes for a very sturdy combo. UPDATE 6/7/2012: Second season using this umbrella and it still looks like new. Very delighted with the purchase and wouldn't hesitate to order another. UPDATE 3/31/2016; Heading into our sixth season using this same umbrella and it still works perfectly and looks great. A tiny bit faded but the color is still very pretty. We do not leave the umbrella out 24/7 during the summer months - we bring it in every night - and we don't leave it out during rainy weather. I'm sure these have contributed to the longevity of this umbrella.

Great umbrella
Compared to much more expensive units, this is a great umbrella. The pole is black aluminum, but is built well. The top "ball" is a cheap plastic, but we just don't use it and it looks fine without it. The tilt mechanism is smooth and this umbrella seems very well built. I'd buy another in a minute. Great value! UPDATE: 6-22-10 A small hinge pin in the tilt mechanism fell out over the weekend. This allowed the umbrella to tilt too much, bending the hinge a little. it was not super easy to get straight, but I was able to find the pin and re-insert it using a nail set to seat it fully. No signs of loosening yet. We still love this 'brella, but watch out for the pin! UPDATE: 8-6-2013 The umbrella still hasn't faded and lives outside for 9 months a year. The crank and tilt mechanisms still work. Great umbrella!!!

Good umbrella
This is as advertised and the finished pole makes it more attractive than an aluminum pole. The crank works well and it appears to be built well. The "automatic tilt" takes some getting use to. At first you have to raise it pretty high to get it to tilt to the point you are concerned you may strip the gears, but after the first time, it becomes a little easier. To get it to this point may be a little difficult for women to raise and may even be so after you get it to work after the first time. The material seems to be good quality and the ribs to suspend seem durable enough. Time will tell! Seems to be a good value.

Great Umbrella...Easy Crank...Keep on Cranking to Auto Tilt!!!
I just received this umbrella yesterday and put it up in a few minutes using the one-sheet simple instructions. Thanks to other reviewers I quickly figured out how the auto tilt works. I purchased a stand here on Amazon that should be good enough for my needs...through a patio table...sheltered within a ten-foot span between the garage and house. The umbrella seems real sturdy and the crank mechanism works like a charm...no pins required! Since it is not sunbrella fabric I'm sure it will fade but for the price I am totally happy with the olefin. I also bought the umbrella light that attaches to the pole and it was easy to install and operate. I would definitely buy this umbrella again! Update: this umbrella has been in constant use for almost two years now. It still looks great and still works like a charm!!

Nice
I am so happy with this umbrella, it was a great price through Warehouse Deals. It is a true navy, not too dark so that it does not look black, and not too bright. It seems to be very good quality. Although it is not a "Sunbrella" type of fabric, the material is much nicer than just a basic polyester sold on the cheaper umbrellas that are available in the warehouse stores this time of year. Supposedly Olefin is fade resistant but I live in Phoenix and the sun is brutal and you have to have an umbrella out by the pool! Even if it eventually fades, I am very happy with it for now and it looks great.

Great Product and YES the Tilt feature works -- Read 4 details
We bought this umbrella because we couldn't find anything at the retail shops that didn't cost and arm and leg. First -- we love it Second -- it was really inexpensive compaired to the others we looked and and IS better quality Third -- lots of people have commented about the tilt feature not working correctly. I was one of those who really couldn't figure it out because the instructions provided do not address it. TILT FEATURE BOTTOM LINE (IT WORKS) ... Use the crank that raises the umbrella. When the umbrella reaches its fully extended position ... continue to crank. As you do this the tilt will start to position itself. Keep going till you have it where you want it. Turn the crank in the opposite direction to repositon the tilt to another tilt angle or the "non-tilt" setting. We have had this umbrella in the San Diego sun ALL summer long .... color has not faded one bit. Great buy, great product, highly recommend it.

Nice umbrella, just check that it's not broken!
I ordered this umbrella last fall on big sale, but by the time it arrived the rains had started so I checked it out and it seemed fine. I just put it in the shed for this summer. Come to find out, when we put it up, the "tilt" function is broken. Not sure how it was supposed to be designed, but there is obviously at least one piece missing. We could make it tilt by jerry-rigging a piece of metal into it, but it's a huge hassle to do and undo, so we just ended up using it straight up. By buying it in the fall for the following summer, I screwed myself out of being able to return it because of the time limit. Lesson learned....buyer beware!
