After the reduced supply at the coop market for brewers/nutritional yeast, I was forced to shop online for this staple product in our house. After long investigation I finally chose Lewis Labs. At first arrival, it was not the flakey flakes I was used to, but an overall even grained mini-flake. However, after first bite, it is clear here, that there is a difference in quality and flavor, and this product excels in both and superior health benefits like noticeable energy increase and relaxed muscles. This is a superior product that I will automatically have shipped to my door from now on. Go ahead, take my advise and get it going this is hands down the most ethical, highest quality with integrity nutritional yeast available outside of the real beer tasting ones out of Germany.

I have tried this jar of Nutritional Yeast Flakes Seasoning (Nooch) to use as a substitute for vegan cheese powder. I was not disappointed! The flakes are 100% pure, non-fortified, and unsweetened, making them much healthier than any other cheese powders I have tried. They are also certified kosher, gluten-free, non-GMO, and plant-based protein. I really appreciate the fact that this seasoning is dairy-free, as I am lactose intolerant. I have used the flakes in a variety of recipes, and they always add a delicious cheesy flavor to my dishes. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a vegan cheese powder alternative.

A favorite stable around our house. Best yeast flakes ever. If you don't like Brewer's Yeast but haven;t tried this you should. Best flavor by far of any yeast.

Great that it’s not fortified. Good taste. The only disappointment is that the package says “flakes” but it is in fact “powder”. Good price. Good quality product. [UPDATE: reordered 2 months later. This time I received flakes as opposed to powder last time. Very pleased]

I've been using nutritional yeast for at least 10 years. I'm a vegan and It's great on a bowl of pasta instead of parmesan. It has a pungent cheesy like taste. I also sprinkle it on a plate of cooked vegetables to spice them up. This Lewis Labs nutritional yeast is as good as the rest I've used. And it's non-fortified so you're not getting a bunch of chemicals you don't want. And the price is the best on the market for non-fortified.

I’ve been buying this for years and love it. It tastes good (like nuts) and mixes easily. I chose it because it ISN’T fortified, so I can give it to my cats also. I mix it in their wet food and they like it. My husband and I have found that it really does repel fleas. (Fleas are impossible to completely avoid if you live in Texas.) If any do bite, the lesion is a tiny, flat, pink dot that doesn’t itch very much and disappears fast. Applying hot water or hot air from a blow dryer, to any bites, also helps a lot. But the yeast helps prevent bites, because fleas dislike the smell of its thiamine (B1). We treat our cats with Revolution and also feed them a little yeast every day. Incidentally, we buy NOW peppermint oil on Amazon and make peppermint lotion. That works great for repelling mosquitoes!

I kind of got lost in all the debate about non-fortified vs fortified. However, I landed here in part due to that but also price and positive reviews. It tastes as I expected. I really enjoy it in/on soups and as a popcorn topping. However, this product is very powdery. The previous product I had was flaky and I did like that texture better than this. When I use this up (which will take some time - it’s a big tub!), I will try another and be looking for flaky as my leading factor.
