Monster High: Haunted [DVD]

Love Monster High so much! It came in great quality and looks great with the rest of my disks collection!

I love that all of the Monster High blu rays also come with the DVD and digital versions - it's such a great value for the money you pay (which often isn't that much more than the DVD by itself!) Haunted was the first MH movie that I watched on Netflix and got me interested in these dolls more seriously. Each movie focuses on one of the ghouls primarily, though there are often subplots for other main characters: this one goes off the 6 main ghouls and focuses on Spectra Vondergeist, a ghost student who transferred from Haunted High and runs a gossip blog. When she learns that Draculaura is being haunted, she returns to her old school to find out who is crossing over from the ghost world and why. Ghosts and other monsters have been kept mostly separate for a few hundred years since the days of the Red Lady, a ghost who terrorized "normies" and other monsters. As she is investigating, she meets a new manster, Porter Geist, and gets trapped in her old school by "detention chains," a system of punishment being handed out by the mysterious Principle Revenant. There are some great dolls that are tied in to this movie, including 4 new characters (Porter Geist, Vandala Doubloons, River Styxx, and Kiomy Haunterly), a new outfit for Spectra, and ghost versions of Clawdeen, Draculaura, Twyla, and a very hard to find Rochelle Goyle (I think she may have been a store exclusive somewhere, but I'm not 100% sure). If you pick this movie up, I definitely recommend getting this 3-version combo pack as it will definitely be your best value for the money! These movies are fun for kids, and there are always little humorous moments that are included for adults as well that make these entertaining and worth watching.

i am an adult doll collector, and i love the monster high dolls but have never seen any of the movies. I am not a big animated movie fan and it takes a lot to keep my interested in one. Although this could have been about 15 minutes shorter i think, i loved the story and the characters. It was a sweet story with a good moral base, especially for kids. It taught that gossip is bad and that you should take responsibility for your actions! An all around fun, clean movie for monster high fans and parents to watch with their kids and discuss the lessons within it or even for kids to watch by themselves. Very sweet movie. Highly Recommended.

Always a good time with Monster High

My kids love this movie!!

The last great Monster High movie before Mattel decided to 'reboot' it all and essentially destroyed their own best selling brand. To see if go from entire toy aisles to zero toys at all in the space of a year was heartbreaking, it was their best brand. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Great blu ray story for girls and boys of all ages.

Super cute movie

This latest movie from Monster High is brilliant and myself and my family have really enjoyed it and no doubt will enjoy it very many more times! I don't know why but I have had the DVD delivered two days before the release date along with another DVD that is due to be released on Monday also but I am certainly not complaining at getting to have them both early! I have two nieces who are Monster High mad and have just under 30 Monster High dolls and playsets at my house for them to play with when they visit along with tons more that I have bought them over the last few years (for at their own homes) and so I am no stranger to the world of Monster High and to be honest I actually really enjoy the webisodes and movies myself and my son loves watching them too. Along with the movie there are two animated shorts included free which run just over 3minutes each; Lochness Lorna and Sayonara Draculaura. Lochness Lorna introduces the new Monster High character Monster High Monster Exchange Program Lorna McNessie Doll and tells the story of how Lorna comes to be at Monster High from her photo bombing antics! Sayonara Draculaura introduces the new exchange programme at Monster high and shows how ( Monster High Exchange Draculaura ) Draculaura ends up exchanging to Shibooya, Japan with a funny ending when she is worried she won't fit in. The main movie Haunted starts off by Draculaura being haunted by a ghost who styles her hair, try's to feed her lunch in the Creepateria and spooks her a little bit. Draculaura goes to tell Spectra, who has just inadvertently spread a false rumour about Clawdeen and her siblings having Wolf Fleas. Spectra becomes worried and floats off and the Ghoulfriends (Draculaura, Clawdeen, Twyla, Sirena and Rochelle) follow her only to see Spectra use a key in Monster Highs attic and then suddenly Poof! out of there. The Ghoulfriends follow Spectra through the portal only to find themselves on a boat which is captained by River Styxx who is the daughter of the Grim Reaper. The Ghoulfriends disguise themselves as ghosts after scaring Vandala Doubloons (as all ghosts are scared of 'solids' as 'solids' are meant to haunt the ghosts) so that they can go with Spectra into Haunted High. Unfortunately the Headmistress, Principal Revenant catches them dressed up as ghosts and when they try to escape with Porter Geiss' help, Spectra is captured by the Hall Moanitors (Ghosts of Past, Present and Future) and has detention chains attached to her. The detention chains mean that those who wear them cannot leave Haunted High and so Spectra is trapped there and cannot return to Monster High. The Ghoulfriends hatch a plan to save Spectra which involves Boogey Sand to turn them into ghosts so that they can go back to Haunted High but will they be able to save Spectra and just what is it exactly with Principal Revenant and those detention chains?...... A brilliant Monster High movie which teaches friendship, trust, doing the right thing and adversity over the odds. The film is rated universal and my three year old has absolutely loved it and wants to watch it again and again already. There are a few new characters in the movie such as Vandala Doubloons, Kiyomi Haunterly, Porter Geiss and River Styxx which also have new dolls of them available which I have and are brilliant, along with the normal main characters from Monster High and Rochelle and Twyla taking more of a main role this time around. The song at the end "Party Like a Monster" is really catchy and my three year old has been bouncing around dancing to it and the film and extras really are brilliant. The film runs for approx 1h 13mins and has the two extra animated shorts which last around 3.5mins each. There is also a sheet of temporary tattoos included with the DVD which feature Eye Eye the Cuttlefish, Spectra, Vandala, Twyla, Draculaura and Kiyomi along with some detention chain tattoos. The DVD comes with a free UV copy and a booklet with some doll advertising of the Haunted dolls and a small advert for the new Monster High film out in autumn called "Boo York, Boo York". Just before the main film there is also a short trailer for Boo York which looks to be another really good Monster High movie when it comes out. Haunted is a really good and entertaining movie and I'm sure will be a must for any Monster High fan.
