My best pairing knife to date
I was making a favorite seafood dish the other day and SNAP! My cheap pairing knife broke into. I was really excited because this opened the door for a new pairing knife of greater quality and to me there was only one company that was getting my business. A few days prior I had seen a beautiful Henkel that not only was my favorite style but attached with a excellent price. My friends were talking one of the best and oldest knife manufacturers in the world. Henkel have been a staple for chefs and restaurants for decades. When I first used a classic 8" chef knife of their make I realized why so much attention was focused on craftsmanship. The perfect weight and a edge that needs little care very often. A few swipes with a steel and you're in business. Cutting with this pairing knife needs no pressure, the blade glides right through whatever vegetable, protein, seafood or food items that needs work. Try it, you will love this knife and all the Henkel products.

Made in Spain not Germany but lives up to being a Henkel.
I thought it was made in Germany, but I didn't see the description that ut us made in Spain. That being said,it's still a great knife. Feels lighter than my German made Henkels. I accidentally threw away the pairing knife that went to my 26 year old set and I wanted to replace it. This knife is razor sharp so be careful. I'm happy with my purchase.

Perfect parer
Just like they've been making for many years. Extremely useful and well designed paring knife. In use everyday and probably will be for longer than I will be. Highly recommended.

Sharper than the current administration, these knives are worth every penny!!
I use these as my everyday paring knives while doubling as steak knives. They are always perfectly sharp and remain that way for years unlike our current administration.

Good paring knife
I lost my paring knife for my cooking knife set. This is a perfect match for the one I lost.

Good little knife, solid value, needs some tweaking
So I recently have bought 4 new knives, three lower end Henckles (NOT Zwilling Henckles which are the good German steel/ two figures in the logo— don’t compare the Henckles with one figure, those are Henckles and their low end models). This Spain made paring knife shown in the photo is also NOT the same as a Zwilling Henckles German made knife. The handle is much lighter, and the balance on the Spain and India made knives are a bit off and too light in the blade. This is more disappointing in the Classic paring knife as it was $27, which is still less than the Zwilling model/German made blade (about $45 usually) , so this is an actual mid grade knife bc the Spain made knife is German steel, just not the quality German steel. I am, however, satisfied with this Classic line knife. The steel is nice, has a little flex to it, I think it will hold an edge reasonably well. The handle is ok, could be rounded off on the edges some and a be bit larger, but it’s ok. The price is fair for the quality and this knife should last reasonably long, I’d say 15 yrs with moderate use and decent care at least. (Hand wash and dry, NEVER dishwasher, don’t leave it in the sink and sharpen as needed). Now, if you are in the market for just a knock about knife and don’t want to pay much/aren’t looking for especially great quality, the India/Solutions made knife is the way to go. Skip the China/Statement line Henckles unless you literally find one for $5 or less, are fine sharpening it frequently and don’t plan to keep it long. (My good Zwillings are going on 27 years now, and only a paring knife has needed to be replaced due to a tip snapping off, I need to return that to Henckles). Another brand that popped up in my searches was Hammer Stahls, which are tempting bc they are made with the same German steel as Wusthof Tridents (which doesn’t make them the same, but you’re in the ballpark). The HS’s LOOK well designed and made, and you will think they are a deal, but they aren’t. The steel is nice, but the handle has 8 rivets that stick up annoyingly, the handle is too short even for my small hands, and the balance is way off. Horrible, horrible design. Go with the Henckle Classics made in Spain instead. The steel isn’t quite as nice, but the handle build and feel will make up for it. If you must have the good German steel but don’t want to pay Henckle prices, go with the Scan Pan knives over the Hammer Stahls. Scan Pan makes amazing cookware, their knives are reasonably priced, good steel and scored very well in independent tests. TLDR- India made Henckles are a good value for the low price, if you want a little better quality go with the Spain made Classics. Avoid China made/Statement line Henckles at all costs unless you pay $5 or less and have zero appreciation/care for quality cutlery and will just abuse it. Check out Scan Pan knives for a huge steel upgrade, comfortable design, good build, and still reasonably priced. Avoid Hammer Stahl due to extremely poor machining and design/not comfy in the hand, definitely not for larger hands.

Excellent, high quality small knife. Clearly good quality from the first use
I bought this to replace a Hofritz knife that has lasted 25 years and expect this one to do the same. The first knife I got had some damage on the top of blade at the handle, but Amazon replaced it within 2 days. The knife is weighty and feels really solid. The handle is not wood, but is solid, not plastic-like. The blade is really sharp and even cuts tomatoes cleanly. It is a bit pricey compared to the cheapy stamped blades, but worth the extra money. There are occasional price cuts if you wait for them. ( I saw it for $22 last fall, but got mine for under $30) Maybe on Prime day or Black Friday you would see a sale. Only issue is that the blade had some very slight burrs that are trivial to sharpen off with a stone.

Perfect when you need a bit more blade but not a large knife
I hadn't planned on buying this knife this week, however someone pulled my paring knife out and (I have no clue how they did this, why, or what madness had taken over their mind) apparently used the tip to pry something? End result it's hooked and that's no good. I needed a replacement till I get home and can fix it. This one arrived with a standard paring knife right before lunch so I put it to work making a diced tomato and herb topping. The extra inch makes a good gap filler between a paring knife an using a chef's or other alternate knife when I need just a bit more. (I also purchased a paring knife from a line I didn't have from HENCKELS, made in Spain and I'm really impressed. It's heavier than my original knife and the handle is a bit different. I'll review it tomorrow. ) Normally, I don't buy knives online except for utility replacements like Sani-safe general kitchen knives, though this year I've had to stock a kitchen while traveling so it's had some surprises - this is a good one. My only key piece of advice is, if the person doesn't know the value of good kitchen knives put the knife roll under your pillow.

Great pearing knife. I would suggest not putting in the dishwasher as it wrecks the handle. This is our replacement knife. We had the first for 10 years and replaced with this the exact same product.
