DeLonghi PACEL390HLWKC 700 Sq. ft. 4-1 Portable Air Conditioner (Renewed)

I ordered two of these refurbished units. They arrived well-packed and in good shape. There were some minor surface scratches, but nothing I mind; they’re refurbished and far less expensive than buying new. They install fairly easily. But I had to put my units on low tables so that the hose would reach the windows. I will be buying longer replacement hoses to fix that issue. The AC blows cold and I’ve turned on the heater and fan; both work great and seem to be energy efficient; compared to a portable that I had in the past, the impact on my electric bill was negligible. I appreciate the remote control, although I wish it had a display so that I could go through the modes without being close enough to the machine to see the display on it. These are NOT super quiet units. That’s not as issue for me. I’m using one in my bedroom and the other in a living space. They are both quieter than window units that I’ve had in the past and I think of them like a bit of white noise. It’s only as annoying as you allow it to be-and for a cool/warm room, I’ll trade the hum of an appliance. It’s not loud enough to interfere with conversation and it can’t be heard over the phone. Downsides: while not very large, the Pinguinos are HEAVY. They roll nicely on their casters, but if you have to lift them for stairs or any other reason, be prepared to get a workout. As mentioned above, the hose could be longer and I wish they made these hoses to be more flexible, but no company does, so there must be a reason? 🤷‍♀️ Overall, I’m really pleased with these. Especially since I also saved a lot by purchasing refurbished units.

I was hoping the bad reviews I read were just a small minority of customers, but nope. Most of them were spot on. Firstly, it’s listed as excellent condition; it’s not. There’s plenty of scratches, tape all over the unit, etc. The hose is insanely short, I almost refuse to believe it’s for this unit. No stoppers for the window panel, no batteries for the remote. I’m pretty sure there’s pieces literally missing. The biggest issue? The water leak. This is most likely because the upper drainage knob they provided me is CRACKED. There’s no way for me to twist it on, and I’m not even sure where to even buy a replacement. I plugged in a stopper and it was still leaking because there was nothing around it. This is in my bedroom!! I’m so glad that I checked before sleeping because my floor was SOAKED in water. There was so much that it could’ve easily spread to an outlet or caused a fire. Like, I genuinely cannot believe this was sold the way it was… No response from support, unsurprisingly, because no company that sells a unit like this cares about their customers or their wellbeing. I had put in an order for a new, longer hose and then figure out how to find something properly plug the upper drain, which proved to be pointless as the pipe broke OFF after I figured I would attach the hose. Now, I’m already looking at buy a brand new unit despite only having this one for a less than a day. Even if this thing ends up cooling my room, and isn’t going to last because of all the damage that came with it. If I had the money to buy a $500+ unit, I would’ve done so from the beginning. It’s upsetting to spend $300+ for this thing and have it come completely borked. There’s absolutely no way I’m going to be able to lug this thing to a PO, so I have to chase down Woot to get me a refund. At this point, I have no choice but to spend the extra money I don’t have to buy a brand new AC. First and last time I ever buy from Woor, and a “refurbished” unit.

The unit arrived within a few day of me placing the order. Work extremely well, A/C cools really good. It's quiet and easy to set up. I was so impressed I ordered a second unit a week after I had the first unit cooling my home. I live in the desert and the temperatures normally get above 110 degrees during the day in the summer. Paying approximately $300 to cool 700 square feet of living area is an amazing deal. The A/C function of the units have worked great since I installed them. I have not tried the heating or dehumidifier functions of the units so I can't comment on how well they work yet.

Good steady ac unit works well with regular cleaning.
