I bought this to give me a safe indoors place to solder without damaging the house/table. Its about A3 in size - or the size of 2 pieces of A4 paper - and comes in a box loosely folder in half. The “work area” is big enough for my need with a some handy trays around the edge. The silicon feels pretty thick so I think it will provide the surface underneath with good protection. Its nice and heat-proof, I've "wiped" the hot solder off the iron a few times on one of the shaped ridges and its was undamaged (not sure its good practice but it was helpful) Any solder that dropped onto it just rubs off when cool… The little tray shapes in the edges are useful for parts / tools. The magnets are real though I’ve not needed to stick screws or anything to them yet. Since modern diodes etc. are so small the trays and lip are very useful in stopping parts escaping onto the floor or otherwise getting lost. Very happy with this purchase.

Great soldering and repair mat as it's good with high temperatures, with no scorch marks left behind after an iron was used to test it. Also, it's highly resilient to cutting and tearing after testing. The only downside of the design is that the lids on the part containers are awkward to close, but when in place, they seem to stay therAs As for assembly, there is none you take it out of the box, and it's ready to use. As for the size, it's good, but for larger boards I'd probably go for the extra size up but for phones and other smaller devices it's perfect. Overall, the functionality is good for the size and well-made for the price, a 9/10

Great product. I recently wanted to start repairing watches so I wanted a worktop organiser for keeping tools and parts organised. This has built in magnets and storage compartments as well as other great features. It's very easy to work on and great value for money.

It's one of those items that just makes life easier but we all neglect to invest in and just make do with putting screws in a cup or something. But if you're like me.. that doesn't really work out very well for long! Things get knocked over, moved and forgotten about etc. This mat helps you keep screws in order, which is very important because not all the screws you take out of a device are going to be the same size. For instance: If you mix them up when reassembling a mobile phone, you can end up driving the wrong size in and pushing through to the LCD screen behind the screw socket. There are millions of examples of that on YT/google if you don't believe me! So the little screw organiser is brilliant. Upto now I have only been using double-sided sticky tape to keep screws organised, but this mat just removes so much bother with its features! With closeable compartments to keep things in for next time, plenty of little compartments to leave your screwdrivers and such. It has changed my "tinker time" entirely! It IS heat-resistant, not "heatproof", so I don't recommend leaving your solder iron on there for more than a few seconds, and I would suggest using something like tin-foil to protect it if you plan on using a heat gun also. I would say the mat will resist anything up to about 450c. But after that, you will likely see the rubber begin to melt, (as I have when testing it with my heat gun). But it's certainly not going to combust if you leave your solder iron on there while you answer the phone. So It's still a very useful feature, as it will definitely protect your desk and home from accidents! The magnets are a little disappointing. While useful, they could be so much better. If they used Neodymium magnets, then I'd be happy. But the magnets are just general use ones you get on fridge ornaments. So screws stick to them (lightly), but if you shove the mat or the desk then they can still break free! Which lets the product down a bit and knocks a star off for me. I may install superior magnets into the mat myself in future. Overall though, I am very happy with it. It's a must-buy for your tinker desk!

A very good quality soldering mat very easy to use has magnetic compartments and zones for holding tools and components it is a good size and very well thought out layout used it for a good while for building one of my electronics projects and had no issues with it just what I was looking for

A good sized work mat, thick and fully functional. It was actually cheaper to order this from Amazon and the delivery was very fast. I only gave it four stars for heat resistance and durability as I haven't dropped my soldering iron on it yet but so far I am impressed. To get the lid compartments to stay shut you have to press in on the hinged side or they will pop open. Not a manufacturing defect but more of a quirk. The magnetic area of the mat actually holds things in place but you should probably avoid this area if you are doing watch repairs. All of the compartment areas of the mat are labelled or numbered so it should make keeping track of small parts a little easier. Overall I am very satisfied with the appearance and quality of this mat.

Interesante tapete para soldadura. Limpio y muy resistente a las quemaduras. Por poner alguna pega....... el articulo viene doblado en una caja y si pilla la doblez en un habitáculo con tapa..... la tapa fallara.

Très pratique, surtout les petits compartiments pour ranger quelques affaires, les emplacements pour placer les vis, tout est bien pensé ! Je recommande vivement

Perfect and exactly what I wanted. It looks just like the picture and works very well so far. Magnetic sections to hold screws, covered sections for storage, measurements built in. Definitely worth the money and this isn't that expensive.
