The great majority are made in China; Home Depot's "Eastman" capacitors are Chinese. The original in our daughter's unit in Albuquerque is made in China; the disconnect (GE) died yesterday but the capacitor is still working. My take on it is to always keep a spare run capacitor on hand; they are easy to swap out and a very common failure point. You will likely end up with a choice of a Chinese capacitor or none... which would you rather have on a 100F day? Six out of 927 reviews reported lasting less than a year; some of those were "bad out of box." Sounds like a good bet to me.

My capacitor has the same ratings (40+5 uf 40/5 mfd ±6% 370v/440 vac) but only has two terminals. it doesn't have a fan wire. it's a trane xl 16i??
