A Beautiful, Educational Film That Even Kept My Son’s Attention
I picked up The Biggest Little Farm for my son’s school project, thinking it would be one of those documentaries we’d have to power through. Instead, we both ended up really enjoying it. The story of a couple transforming a neglected piece of land into a thriving, sustainable farm was not only inspiring, but also easy for him to understand and stay engaged with. The cinematography is stunning — the animals, the farm, the ups and downs they face — it’s all captured in a way that really draws you in. My son actually asked to rewatch parts so he could take better notes for his report, which says a lot. If you’re looking for something educational that highlights the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, and perseverance — and can hold the attention of both kids and adults — this is a great pick. It definitely made the school project more enjoyable for both of us.

It left me in awe, filled with so much joy, hope and clarity of purpose
If you're someone who is looking to do something meaningful with your life, trying to find your purpose, or want to be part of really leaving a positive impact in your community and the planet then this is the documentary for you. Its hard to put into to words how moved I was by this beautiful story, but I will do my best. As a recovering capitalist who has decided that the regenerative agriculture space will be my new career and life's direction this documentary couldn't be more timely. It perfectly details the beautiful complexities and interdependencies within God's divine creation, and how each organism plays a role if we are patient and observant enough to notice. This story is by no means without its challenges, hard breaks and difficulties, but as with all storms, comes a peace and tranquility of new insights and a greater understanding of the world around you and your place in it. There is a movement of Regenerative Farming coming, and I am committed to be part of it, I don't know how yet, but I know if I continue to search for the truth the path will reveal itself to me. There are many Regenerative Farmers out there, Carbon Cowboys is a a documentary film series you can find online that tries to bring these stories to the rest of us, really beautifully done, so you know this really is happening and the different ways people are approaching it. The work of Dr. Allan Savory of the Savory Institute is what really made up my mind, he developed a system he calls Holistic Management, which is founded on working WITH nature instead of against it. Using Life (livestock, microorganisms, worms, fungi and plants) to Heal and create New life buy healing our most precious resource - SOIL. I do hope you take the time to watch this beautiful story and share it with your friends, loved ones and colleague.

Inspiring and entertaining... but a little overly idealistic
First thing to say is, its worth a watch. If you saw the title and were intrigued, I have no doubts the film itself will provide a range of emotions from joy to wonder to a slight bit of grief in all the best ways. Anyone who is interested in the simpler life, or cohesive existence with nature, or any "homesteady" type of stuff, will find this movie entertaining. On the idealistic side... they do very good job making the watcher want to start a life of sustainable farming but completely neglect many of the hardships and ALL of the financial background. This place easily is an 8 figure project and they act like its no big deal. Additionally, it is produced in a way that makes you a little irritated with how much of a "movie" it is trying to be when it really would be better served as more of a documentary. Might be more of a taste thing, but for me, it downplayed the reality of it a lot. In any case, I've watched it 3 times and probably would again in the future.

This is such a wonderful DVD. I have watched it several times, and believe this should be shown in all schools, starting at least grade 10. It proves the importance of farming the land, as well as the symbiotic relationships between different living beings. No matter how big or small.

This DVD is quite simply magical. So simple. So real. So necessary. If we could all just contribute any form of this practice the world would be a much healthier place to live and it might just save the planet. Now how good would that be?
