I followed the advice and changed my relationships
Simple, straightforward, sensible daily practice. I changed my karma and improved my relationships by taking ownership of the problems in myself that I could fix. Nammyohorengekyo definitely works, but like everything it takes daily practice to see improvement. There's no silver bullet--don't let the Christians fool you!

Inspirational and Uplifting
This is an amazing book. It truly changed my life. It is a well-written, easy read and I finished it in about a week, even with a busy schedule. Even if you do not want to practice Buddhism, this book will give you a new perspective on life and give you strategies for getting through some of the more difficult times. My mother is a Christian and still really enjoyed reading this book and commented on how some of it aligns with the core principals of Christianity as well. I have since started practicing Buddhism and have experienced some amazing benefits, both conspicuous and inconspicuous. Definitely give this book a read!

A wonderful inspirational book for anyone seeking enlightenment through the practice of Buddhism.
I have read numerous books in the past on the topics of Asian philosophy like Shintoism, Taoism, Zen and other forms of Buddhism. This fantastic book focuses on Nichiren Buddhism which was created by a Japanese monk named Nichiren. He was born in Japan in 1222 and developed a Buddhist philosophy system in which all people are able to achieve Buddhahood. Unlike many of the other Zen and Buddhism systems, this Nichiren Buddhism believes that achieving "enlightenment" is not restricted to monks but is available to everyone. The primary method is the chant a six syllable NAM-MYOHO-RENGE-KYO which comes from the Lotus Sutra. It is recommended you chant at least five minutes twice a day. This 230 page book is organized into eight chapters. They include the following: (1) The Buddha in your Mirror. (2) The practice. (3) Self- and environment. (4) Happiness. (5) Relationships that work. (6) Buddhism and health. (7) Dealing with death. (8) Putting it all into practice. There is also a bibliography and other suggested organizations and books for further study of Nichiren Buddhism. This book is an excellent volume to learn how to practice Nichiren Buddhism, but there is nothing like having a teacher explain exactly how to chant "Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo." There is also a lot of material on the wide world web about this system of Buddhism, including instructions on how to chant properly. There are numerous support groups in every state that practice Nichiren Buddhism. If you are interested in a Buddhist system which teaches you how to live a full and happy life, you might want to checkout the Nichiren method to enlightenment. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Nuts and Bolts of Buddhism
If the very idea of reading about or practicing Buddhism confounds you--and let's face it, it can be--this book will explain it in clear terms. It's almost mechanical, but that's the idea--to explain this Buddhism to the Western World (especially Americans!), are accustomed to reading things like technical manuals and reading newspapers online. It's just the way we are "hard-wired," and it's written BY Americans FOR Americans, or anyone else who would like to read it. Less theory, more substance, and more of what you check out Buddhism for. It's an easy read, too--about 210 pages, double spaced, big margins. ... As I tell new members (as well as a few old ones) "It's all about the practice." That's it. Everyting else is superflous. The practice is everything, and it's explained in this book--how, when, where, what and why, as well as "case studies" of members who changed something with the practice and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. Millions of people can't be wrong. Again, it's all about the practice, and how to go about it. So--what are you waiting for?

Better than I expected
I bought the kindle version of this book and love the fact that I can read it whenever I want. A friend of mine introduced me to Buddhism and chanting, and after I started I wanted to understand it. This book goes into the history behind Buddhism and why we chant nam myoho renege kyo. It also give you examples of how life situations can be changed by chanting, it actually give real life examples. I have not finished it but now I can't wait to finish. I think the fact that I understand what I am chanting is helping me get more out of it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning something new and improving your life at the same time.
