Giving 3 stars because it seems like a legit piece of training equipment, just cheaped out on anchors Update: Mounted the piece with proper 1/2" anchors from the hardware store. This thing is sturdy as a hell. Handles the heavy bag pretty well, but had to remove the chain and swivel due to the low ceiling in my garage. Still a great product that does everything i need it to do. Any reason I can’t lag it into a 2x12 beam in basement?** A: You don't need to anchor it to a concrete wall (however, it does include concrete anchors for those that do have a concrete/ concrete block wall). The alternative would be a sturdy & strong beam or a 2x12 beam section securely screwed onto vertical wall studs. As long as it is a sturdy and safe installation, you should be fine. **Q: Can I hang a heavy bag from this?** A: Sure but you really need to anchor this bar into the studs and of course it's not spaced correctly to make it easy. You have to run horizontal 2x4's anchored into the studs then hit those with the anchors for the bar. Hanging a heavy bag even worked great. The downsides I'll have to say is the bar length for wide grips seems a bit too long and wide grip pull ups can be a bit risky for shoulder health. Or maybe because my size is average and could be fine for being taller folks. Secondly it'd be nice if there was more rubber grip paddings on the other handles near the wide grips for doing regular pull ups. Third, I think the rubber grips in the middle should've been much tighter as they tend to slip around when dropping and the grips misalign.
