Excellent media center keyboard, full of features, user-friendly, zero issues! Highly recommended!
I recently built a custom machine at home in preparation for the upcoming Oculus headset, and to control this computer I opted to go with this Logitech keyboard. I've got my computer connected to my 70" Vizio 4K TV in the living room, so I needed a keyboard that functioned as both a keyboard and mouse in one. I wanted it to be light, and easy to use, with separated buttons for sound. This keyboard hit all my marks, and did it quite well. Here's my two-cents on this keyboard, the good, the bad, and the returnable! Quality: It's solid, I mean it's plastic, so if you decide to throw it at your TV it will most likely shatter, but for us normal users its very well built. The buttons are quiet, don't feel flimsy, the keyboard doesn't crash or makes any noise. It's a well built device. Features The biggest things for me is the backlit keys which is a must have for an entertainment system setup. I watch movies in the dark and would like to see the keys when I need them. The dim away after a second or two of no use. The second must have feature for me was the separate volume keys. Again the scenario is me watching a movie, I like to be able to reach over and find the volume up/down and mute without having to look for them. There's also a left click button on the top of the keyboard, it's a single click where your index finger would rest, this is a cool feature, but not one I ever use myself. Rechargeable The keyboard is also rechargeable via USB, the charge holds up I'd say for about a month, and then I usually do an overnight charge and I'm good to go for another month. There's an thing LED light that will light up red to indicate the battery is getting low and needs a recharge. I've found I can use it for a few more days to a week once that lights comes on. So much like a gas light, there's a reserve. Cleaning It's also very easy to clean. I'm a pretty careful and clean user, but fingerprints and smudges are nearly unavoidable. However, this is very easily cleanable as well. Just turn off the keyboard using the switch on the top, and then I take a microfiber cloth, spray some glasses cleaner or screen cleaner on the rag, and just wipe the whole keyboard with it. I love that everything comes off with ease, and after a few wipes you get a brand new looking keyboard! It's awesome, and I love how new it looks even after months of use. Software and Keys You can also download the software that goes along with this keyboard. This allows you to assign specific functions to the buttons along the topโthe F-buttons. It does come pre-programed with decent functions, but some I wanted to customize to launch my Plex for instanceโthis was easily done. BIOS Another great thing about this is its functionality during boot. Some keyboards won't be recognized until Windows launches the desktop during boot up, but in the case I'm able to use it immediately, which is great for launching into the BIOS. The keyboard comes with a bluetooth dongle which works great! So this was a great addition. I've done a lot of custom work and had to deal with a lot of boot changes which require a keyboard, and not once did I need to use a wired keyboard. If it helps I've got the X99A Motherboard from MSI.

Pretty awesome keyboard with glowy blue letters !!! Sadly, it will not take the dog out for me.
Works perfectly. Not too big, not too small...it's juuuust right ! The Wingnut household has a small PC (windows 7) attached to out superhumongous TV. We tried the tiny, inexpensive, remote control sized keyboard/mouse combe for a year or so. It leaves a lot to be desired as far as the mousing goes. This Logitech keyboard is pretty to look at - even if you buy only Macs and iphones, you will love this clean design. Looks snazzy enough to leave out on the coffee table if you wish to. Worked out of the box with windows 7 ! Blue backlighting of the keys is easy on the eyes in a dark room. We are finally getting some use from the PC. Phones and tablets are ok for light browsing, but sometimes you really do need a REAL pc with REAL web browser installed. Eventually we will install the software that came with the keyboard and tweak it a bit. Also - this has a built-in lithium ion battery. You don't have to keep feeding it AAs or AAAs every week. Pluses: 1. It will fit in the oven ! Yay ! 2. It will fit in the microwave ! 3. Can be used as a shovel in the back yard to dig holes. Makes a nice trenching tool. 4. Makes a nice meat cleaver - extremely useful during zombie attacks. Minuses: 1. No built-in laser pointer for entertaining the dog with. 2. It has yet to fix me breakfast. 3. It's a little pricey, since this model is fairly new on the market. Watch for sales if you can wait. 4. This keyboard does not clean toilets well. 5. It will not fit in the blender. 6. This keyboard is lousy for chopping wood. 7. Keyboard very stubbornly refuses to take the dog outside for me. 8. Mousepad is on the right side of the keyboard. Thankfully my lefty spousal unit is ambimoustrous.

Great addition to a Home Theater
I have been using this keyboard for a few months and honestly I would say it's a great keyboard to have for a HTPC setup. I use it with my Intel NUC and it's extremely convenient. The battery lasts long for me, as I don't use it that often, I literally charged it 3-4 months ago, and haven't had to charge it since. However, I only use it minimally to manage stuff on my HTPC when not using the remote. The illuminating part makes it easy to see in a dark environment, that is extremely why I bought this. The feel is more sturdy and reliable than the K400 which I had before. The K400 felt more like a plastic toy than anything. This keyboard's feel just gives you confidence in its stability. The keys are quiet, easy to hit, but that is where I had to deduct a star. The strange placement in some of the keys makes me miss certain keys every now and then. I got it, it's to minimize space usage, but it's still a difficult setup. I can say my work laptop that I am writing this review on now has an even weirder setup, and thats HP, so don't expect it to feel too weird. The touchpad is responsive and works reliable as well. It's even more convenient because you don't have to worry about a mouse at all. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone with an HTPC setup.

This is hands down the best living room keyboard out there
This is hands down the best living room keyboard out there. My wife even likes this tech purchas. Let me tell you she hates any and all of my tech/ gadget purchases up till I purchased this keyboard. It works out of the box. Has a built in rechargeable battery that so far has lasted me almost a month on a charge. This is my second one not for its lack of build quality or finish. Nope one of my briliant children leaned it up against the recliner then let it fall uder the foot. When someone went to close the foot of the chair it wouldn't close, what did they do. SURE as heck didn't look nope just SLAM SLAM SLAM the foot till it closed and smashed the keyboard. It still worked even after almost being broken in half. It was when I tried to fix it that it meet its doom. As I tried to remove screws I stripped them then got so angry at my kids and me for friggin up my sweet keyboard I just smashed it on the floor. It still didn't fully break. I think Logitech built this thing out of some top secret DOD Lockheed skunkworks super strength plastic. This keyboard is so durable it lasted through my son sneaking down to the living room in the middle of the night and playing so many video games that I have 45 viruses and 978gb of malware on my HTPC. This keyboard replaced a gyration air mouse keyboard combo. I am so glad it did. I was getting tennis elbow from waving that elephant like mouse all over the place in the air trying to get it to work from just 10' away. It works and works great. If you have a HTPC and are a cord cutter like I am this is the keyboard for you. Don't look any further no other keyboard or living room keyboard could stand up to this one in Keyboard thunderdome.

Saving grace for being "bedridden"
I had the great fortune (or misfortune, depending on your perception) of purchasing this just a week before I shattered my heel in a bicycle accident. I've been cooped up on the couch for the past 6 weeks and this thing has proven invaluable. I am using it with my laptop, connected to my TV. I will admit that I was torn between this wireless keyboard/trackpad combo and the Logitech K400. Initially I was skeptical of my purchase, but after 2 months of use, I am incredibly glad I was able to find this one on sale and made the impulse buy. I'll start with what I don't like. My first gripe was that the trackpad was extremely grippy when I first began using it. Many laptops these days have a softer, smoother touchpad right off the bat, so it took some getting used to. However, after using it for several weeks, the oils from my fingers and I imagine just using it have made it much smoother, allowing much finer control of the cursor. My second issue was that the trackpad seemed to be inaccurate or inconsistent. By this, I mean sometimes the cursor would jump across the screen with relatively minor movements, and other times it would lag with more exaggerated inputs. Again, since using it for several weeks, this seems to no longer be the problem, and I am attributing it to it's initial "tackiness." My final bone to pick is a small one. I don't like that the function keys are defaulted to logitech's mappings, rather than the operating system's. For instance, the F5 key is mapped to change the screen extension/duplication choice. I use F5 frequently in Chrome to refresh the current page. In fact, I use keyboard shortcuts like they're going out of style. Many of the default mappings are useless or not customizable enough to be useful for me, e.g. the search button (F7), the home button (F8) or the media button (F9). Thankfully, logitech allows you to easily change the function of these keys to normal behavior using their Logitech Options software. This makes it necessary to hold the FN+F(x) to operate the logitech mappings, which I prefer. Within this software, you cannot even fully customize what action is performed for each of these "action" buttons. I'd like to have the media key open Spotify, but it is not an option. Again, this is a small issue, and for the most part, a resolvable one. Now to what I like. I'd say the biggest thing I like about this keyboard is it's form factor. It's slightly smaller than a full-sized keyboard, but is by no means cramped--in fact, the keyboard itself still feels like a full-sized keyboard. It is slim, and looks great (unlike the K400 which looks like one of those electronic child learning toys), and has a good weight to it--it is not heavy, but has enough weight to not feel cheap. The backlight illumination is HUGE. I also love having dedicated volume keys. I used to think these were silly on computers and keyboards, but see my earlier comment about keyboard shortcuts. The fact that this is usb rechargeable is incredibly handy. When I need to I just plug it in with my Playstation controllers. The battery itself lasts a good 2-3 weeks (I've only charged it once since I bought it 2 months ago). The action on the keys is also incredibly nice, and they aren't terribly loud. If you're looking for a wireless keyboard and mouse to use your computer connected to your TV, I'm not sure there's a better product out there. I'm so glad I bought this on impulse, and would definitely buy another if I needed to.

Beware of rechargable Logitech products.
All in all a great keyboard but about two months after use the microUSB charging port started coming loose. I've had this problem with Logitech rechargable headphones before. The microUSB female port is this tiny piece of metal soldered onto a board with 5 tiny wires, these things come loose after time through wear, constant plugging and unplugging. Sure, there are videos of people fixing this with solder so I purchased a soldering iron and tried it, but the inner wires ripped out too deep and I couldn't get the solder to adhere. I'm under the impression that Logitech just sucks at making sturdy rechargable ports, I've owned an android phone for ~4 years and the port on that wears out nowhere near as much this thing did. Once this thing breaks off your product is dead. I love Logitech, they make great products. But, consider buying wired/USB or battery replaceable keyboards.

Perfect!
So, I wanted a wireless keyboard I could use from bed or my couch because I have my laptop connected to my TV so I can watch movies and surf the web. There are many wireless keyboards. Many of them are TINY a little bigger that a high end universal remote and thats not what i wanted. I wanted a keyboard with keys big enough so I can do some typing from my lap just as I would a laptop and this is EXACTLY what i envisioned. Simply plug in the tiny reciever, download the logitech program from their website and BOOM!! I was set to go! The backlit keys are awesome and are neccesary since I dont like much light when im watching movies or surfing the web. The unit feels of good quality the wieght is very good IMO not super light and not too heavy.. The mouse pad is easy to use and very responsive. You can use the logitech app you download from their sight to adjust the mouse response and keyboard functions like the "FN" keys. So, If you want to know how wide this keypad is, I would say, its the width of your average laptop and I say this because I placed it side by side with 3 of my laptops. The backlighting is even and very nice unlike some other units that have an uneven light because the simply have 1 bulb on one side lol. Bottom line. I love it.

Very Good HTPC Keyboard
Great HTPC keyboard, but here's the disclaimer: there just aren't that many options out there. Either you get a keyboard with a touchpad but no backlight, or you get a keyboard with a backlight but no touchpad. The combination of backlight and touchpad is surprisingly very difficult to find. I looked for months before I was able to find this Logitech that had both features to use in my dark living room. Having said that, this is actually an overall decent keyboard despite being pretty much the only choice. It has nice backlit keys with adjustable brightness; the touchpad is responsive; you can customize function keys to open, for example, specific programs or webpages; and has great battery life and recharges easily with the included USB cord. One complaint is that the keys that require the combined use of the Fn key are impossible to see in the dark, even with the backlight. These include for example the sleep key. However, once you use it enough times it's easy to remember where the keys are, so this negative point is only ephemeral. Another minor complaint is the slickness of the keyboard. The finish is smooth but very slippery, which means you'll have a hard time holding it firmly on your lap without it constantly sliding down, and the four little rubber feet do little to nothing to keep it in place. Someone in another review suggested attaching Velcro to the bottom, which is not a bad idea, except it can ruin your clothes. I'll probably look for rubberized self -adhesive tape and apply several strips to the bottom of the keyboard. That should keep it from sliding around so much. Overall, it's a very good product to own if you have an HTPC in your living room and you want to be able to use a proper keyboard with it.

Would recommend for HTPC users
Works perfectly on windows vista and 10, purchased to use with Kodi media center on Ubuntu and have nothing but good things to say about it. The device functioned correctly as soon as it was plugged in and has been an absolute pleasure to use, the windows specific keys obviously don't function on Ubuntu. The track pad is responsive but I find myself trying to double tap (like you would on a laptop) to click which it does not support, the keyboard is functional and typing anything on it is comfortable as long as you can position it at an appropriate height on your lap or have something to prop it up with on your desk. The back light is perfect when sitting in dark room watching movies and it fades away quickly when you stop interacting with the keyboard, battery life I have no complaints about I normally turn it off when I put it down and forget to plug it in for weeks at a time but I've never killed the battery.

Just buy it !
Works perfect with TV, computer (media center), and even an old Laptop with Windows Vista - evne though they say on the package that it is not supported. Have only plug it once since I bought it 3 weeks ago, great battery efficiency. If you need a wireless 2in1 keyboard-mouse, just buy this.
