No more cigarette butts sitting out! The closed container helps to reduce the ashtray smell. When it's closed no one even knows it's an ashtray. Even the sound it makes when you open and close it is pleasant. The easiest way to clean it is with one of those spongy drinking glass scrubbers, the kind with a long handle and a spongy ball on the end. All in all, it's pretty nifty and looks way better than an ordinary ashtray sitting on the table. I loved it so much I bought another one.

DON'T FREAKING BUY THESE! Worse than impractical! It doesn't matter what you do, your ashtray WILL get stolen, one way or the other. The singular solution if you don't want it stolen is to never use it or let anyone else see it, which kinda defeats the entire purpose of paying money for one in the first place. So don't. I'm now on my 5th one of these (this type of ashtray, not all from this exact listing/seller). That's not some kind of exaggeration or joke - I'm 100% serious. Guess how many I still own. ?? Exactly one - the one that arrived today after my last one was stolen Sunday. Front porch? Stolen (twice). Backyard? Stolen. Only for use during house parties or when you have company over? Stolen. Aaaand now I get to play real-life "Imposter" trying to figure out which one of my so-called "friends" isn't allowed over here anymore. I ought to be giving the stuff up, but I'm already hooked on them. I promised myself beforehand that I would stop buying them whenever someone ended up stealing the last one I had. Y'all, my turnaround time to buy the one that came today was less than 4 hours; I didn't even make it a whole day. They're so unique and pretty. Convenient, too. I can easily fit 2-packs worth of cigarette butts in there before emptying the receptacle. Very classy-looking also, even if the actual act of smoking really isn't. The product itself clearly stellar - I'd give it 6/5 stars if I could. BUT SO WOULD EVERYONE ELSE! You're going to be looking over your shoulder every damn day. You will start to make paranoid evaluations in your head and gauge your friendships based on which person you perceive to be the least covetous. Many if not most people are comfortable voicing their feelings of envy, but it's the quiet ones who keep their passions to themselves that keep me up at night. Don't be me. PLEASE. It's just not worth it. These things are a neverending money-pit that will cast a hex on you. You'll never be able to adjust back to a cheap dollar-store ashtray again. EVER. It's a road to ruin that you still have the option to escape. For the love of God, have mercy on your future self. You still have a chance.

It looks like a nice decorative piece and keeps ash and butts from flying all over the place. The latch is easy to open and it has a holder for one cigarette when its opened. If you close it the ash and extinguished butt falls into the belly, and you can easily empty it out by removing the latch (you open it and lift it up). I like that this ashtray has a little weight to it so it doesn't tip over when its windy, and I also leave it outside when it rains, because of its round shape and nearly seamless closure of the latch not much water makes in inside. I used to have the flat ashtrays that would fill up with rain water and spill over, this one however no problem.
