... a wall so I know what's important in a good wall mount
I've mounted quite a few TV's to a wall so I know what's important in a good wall mount. In all cases, the wider the better while still keeping inside the width of the actual TV that you are mounting. That way you are guaranteed to hit the maximum number of studs while still allowing you some flexibility to center the TV on a wall, for example. This mount is almost three feet wide so you're guaranteed to hit at least two studs with both the top and bottom holes. The last thing you want to do is mount a $1,000 TV to plasterboard! I've seen poorly mounted TV's fall off the wall and it's never a pretty picture! I mounted a 55" Samsung TV using this mount. What I really love about it is the base is one single piece part. No bolting halves together making the mount flimsy, harder to keep things square and the possibility of the joint being right in front of a stud. The built-in level is okay in a pinch but I still prefer using a longer professional level. This mount is made out of heavier gage steel than most and comes with a 220 pound rating, which I believe is important considering the price of the TV I'm mounting and how much easier it is to install than the cheap multi-piece assemblies. I used this mount for a 55" TV went in my bedroom so it was important for the TV to be mounted as close to the ceiling as possible to prevent neck strain while watching it in bed - Just like they mount them in the hospitals. With it mounted right up next to the ceiling it was very important that it would allow the TV to tilt from the wall so that it could be viewed down at the bed level without any ambient light reflections producing glare off the TV screen. The 15 degree tilt was almost perfect for this but 20 degrees would have even been slightly better, so if you're mounting a TV near the ceiling make sure that the mount has tilt capability. Not only is this mount extra heavy duty but it was one of the easiest mounts that I've ever used to install. Spend a few extra dollars to get a high quality mount like this and you will save a lot of extra time, frustration and screaming naughty words by buying some cheap piece of crap! You can't go wrong with this one!

Great mount for a great price!
I recently bought a 55" LG and needed a wall mount for it. A friend of mine told me to check out Amazon as the prices for the mounts were way better than store bought. After doing some research, I ended up deciding on the Mount-It! Universal because it would fit my TV, the price was great and the back plate was one peice (I saw quite a few with a 2 piece back plate and both had to be leveled and mounted seperately ; looked like a hassle). I did see the one review that mentioned it was difficult to reach the knobs to adjust the tilt, but that wasn't a concern of mine because once I have it up, I don't see the need to ever have to tilt it on a regular basis. Ordered the mount, it was delivered very quickly and it was very simple to mount on the wall. The only thing I did was replace the lag bolts as all of my friends with large flat screens recommended that. Cheap to buy 6, so why not take some advice that multiple people gave me? Found the studs, drilled the pilot holes and cranked the lag bolts in. a long level helped me get it straight. Brackets were very easy to install on the back of the TV. Lifting the TV up off it's original swivel base was probably the hardest part of it all. And that wasn't really that difficult. Top of the brackets fit right onto the mount, the locking screws underneath were easy to tighten and I could reach the knobs to loosen them to get the right angle I wanted and then tighten again. Locking screws were a little tighter fit to get to than the knobs (only because it was less than an inch from the wall), but those are locked and I don't ever have to deal with them unless I take the TV down, which I don't plan on anytime soon. Cables fit with no problem in the back without any angled adapters. I had tilted the TV up as much as it would go and I could see the connections with no issues. Once it was all plugged in, I tilted it forward, locked the knobs and moved my entertainment center back against the wall. I would definitely recommend this mount to anyone as it was affordable, well built, easy to install and is rock solid when installed properly.

A BRUTE, BUT BAD BUBBLE...
This is a very sturdy mount. I bought it to mount a 55" TV, but would have no qualms whatsoever about using it for a 70" TV. It comes with a lot of different sets of hardware to accommodate different sized TVs. Each size bolt (4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm diameter) comes in two different lengths. It also has bushings that can go between the TV and the mount in case your TV has a curved back. My TV had a flat back, but I needed the bushings anyway because the short bolts were too short and the long bolts were too long. I used the bushings with the long bolts and was able to secure the mount to the back of the TV. It comes with lag bolts and masonry anchors, so will work with various types of walls. NOTE: I had some problems mounting this above a direct vent gas fireplace. Apparently the venting required some creative use of studs behind the wall - they did not run all the way down to the mantle, and were blocked differently mid-way up the wall. If mounting over a fireplace, I recommend you locate your studs before ordering a mount to make sure you will be able to mount it where you want to. THE GOOD: This mount is very sturdy, and very adjustable. You should have no trouble hitting studs in the wall. Comes with a lot of hardware to support almost every TV. Can be tilted +/- 15 degrees. THE NOT-SO-GOOD: The built-in bubble level was WAY OFF on my unit. Fortunately I had read that this was an issue and used my 3ft level. The TV sticks out pretty far from the wall (can be about 3" from the wall if you use the bushings. Might be an issue if this bothers you. OVERALL: A good purchase if you use your own level.

Excellent product but what's shown is not what was delivered
I would have probably given this a 5 star review if I was delivered what was shown or that I had been charged the price for the model I received. Pros 1. Excellent price 2. Sturdy construction 3. Easy to mount the wall plate to outer studs, across 3 studs Cons 1. The mounting arms donโt match the description โ no safety latch. It uses screws to lock behind the bottom lip of the wall plate. 2. Built-in level is pure junk. Addressing the cons first. The locking latch would have made my life way easier, but itโs not the end of the world. Use a LONG Phillipโs head screwdriver. While the instructions seemed incomplete and generic, itโs a relatively intuitive process to hang the plate and install the arm mounts. I ended up using the screws that were in the back of my TV. The built-in level is not accurate which is noted repeatedly in the reviews. Minor issue. I used my own level. The TV mounts close to the wall, so be mindful to plug in cables and tighten the knobs prior to hanging. There are cheaper mounting solutions, but most arenโt as wide as this one. This is a very solid bracket and once hung, you can easily see that. Again, the width makes it easy to install across 3 studs width so that you get the TV centered. Despite the criticism, this is a terrific product but bothersome that the company continues to deliver the mounting kit with safety screws as opposed to the advertised safety latch. Update: I have now bought FOUR of these. The first go round must have been tougher than I remember. I have mounted 3 additional TVs in my house and the installation took no more than 15 minutes for any of them.

holds my 60" 90lb TV with Zero issues. Highly recommend
I bought this to mount a 90lb 60" TV in my living room, it works perfectly and I can't imagine spending the $150 my local store wanted for the same concept. I love this mount is one solid piece, the wall plate needs no assembly like others which adds to the stability and strength. It holds my sharp brand TV perfectly. Some people said the bolts are not good, I disagree, I went to the store and bought some so when the mount arrived I could install it quickly, after looking at the kit I found the bolts were good quality. This mount has everything you need and works perfectly.

This wall unit will span 3 studs
The best thing about this wall bracket is it will span 3 studs up to 32" on center. It comes fully assembled and ready to install. It states it holds up to 220 lbs, which all of the large screens affordable and available today will never come close to. It will support a LG 86" and the Samsung 82". The TV brackets will handle any VESA pattern. If you are hanging a TV and just happen to have a wall stud that is dead center in the room and 16" centers, this bracket is perfect for the job. You will have to drill a new hole or holes at the center point in the back plate as they, for some reason, left this out. I drilled a single hole for the center stud, near the top just under the built-in level. Then I pivoted the wall plate to level easily and use the bullet level. Don't trust the built-in level, it is not accurate. Obviously they knew it because they included a small extra level in the package. I then added the 2 lags on each opposite stud and adjust a tad before tightening. If your studs are a tad off the 16" oc, do not worry. You have enough of a slotted area to adjust the lag 3/4" either way. Recheck your level. In all, there are 5 lags holding this bracket. I recommend that you go to the local Home Depot or hardware and purchase all new lags 1/2 inch to 1 inch longer as the lags looked a tad short. I am just being careful here. In comparison, the backplate is made out of thinner material than my other backplate on a second TV. The only real concern about this is the hanging points (TV bracket hook) where the TV brackets and the wall plate come together. But we are not jerking the TV around on this either. For the price, I give this 5 stars. For the thickness of the material, 4 stars. For the horizontal reach of this mount...5 stars. I feel confident that the TV (82 inches of it), is well supported and stable. The mount adjusts for tilt only.

Cheap? Yes Sturdy? Yes Easy to Install? Yes Read before you install, good tips!
This review is for the Mount-It! Premium Universal Heavy-Duty Tilt Mount. We moved into a new house so we needed to get a mount because we didn't have room for an entertainment console. I have a LG 60" Plasma TV and looked up and found this product online. I mounted the TV myself, I just needed a few people to actually clip the TV on the mount since it was so high. This is made extremely durable from the touch to the performance. 6 screws into the studs of your wall and this thing is STUCK. Very important to make sure you hit your studs of it will rip right out of the wall. You will notice if you miss of not. *Optional design tip* If possible to run wires behind the TV through the walls, take the opportunity to do this now. The previous owner cut a whole and ran cables through the dry wall (HDMI and ethernet so it makes it extremely clean looking VS a bunch of cables running everywhere that looks terrible. Forget doing wireless, just plug in via ethernet for lagless streaming. I will post a picture of my setup that works at my house, but it looks really clean and slick. YMMV tho based on setup. 1. Measure twice and use your own level. The level built in sucks and is completely wrong. I followed it the first time and it was all lopsided. 2. Buy the magnet level they have on Amazon and save a boat load of money vs a electronic one. They are like $7 bucks and last forever. I have used it many many many times. 3. Use an impact driver if you have it. This will make drilling into the stud tolerable. Way better than your standard drill. Good luck if you are doing it by hand. 4. Dont forget to slide the safety bar after you have the TV on the wall AND drill the screws into the back of it so there is no chance that it comes off. I plan on mounting another TV in my gameroom and I have a strong feeling that this will be the mount that I choose again. 5/5
