Nice knife and great value!
I was initially skeptical about this knife. Yes, I read some reviews which seemed nice then, because my wife bought blocks of hard cheese, I had to get this to try. I am pleasantly surprised. The steel is good and it stays sharp for quite a while. It works very well with both hard and medium cheeses. We have used it on Gouda, Cheddar, Baby Swiss, Halloumi, Parmesan, and several others. The cheese can be sliced relatively thinly (1.5 mm slices) without issues. I feel it is ergonomically designed and is comfortable to use for a while - used it for about 10 minutes without issues. The pronged tip is really useful for picking up cheese slices.

Buying my second - lost the first in a move.
I purchased this about a year and change ago, chiefly for working with firmer cheeses such as Manchego. If you are working with soft/ripe cheeses like Bleu, Brie, or similar this knife would not be my first choice. For hard cheese - especially if you can work with it closer to serving temp, it works great and is easy to clean for the next cheese you need to work with. It's a dream to cut with and is also great with tomatoes. Normally I buy Wustoff knives for my main cooking knives. I bought this one as a quick fix and ended up liking it enough that I couldn't justify $60 to $150 for a Wustoff cheese knife. (I cook with hard cheese a fair bit but not $150 dollar cheese knife amount.) I do have their two handled large block cheese knife but that's almost never needed unless you just need 40 lbs of Parmesan... I had no issues with this staying sharp and treated it like some of my "sani-safe" prep knives and just tossed it in a dishwasher. If you really are partial to knives from Solingen (I normally am) Messermeister has one for about 20 bucks but I like the blade shape on this more. If you need knives to leave on a charcuterie tray there are better options aesthetically, such as the Wustof presentation set for around 115 with plumwood handles or many other options in the $30 space. If I'm putting it on the table for anyone to cut with I'm probably going the $30 dollar space since you can bank on people beating up the blades...

best cheese knife I have ever used
It is sharp, sturdy, and very reliable in the hand. It works very well for cheese, but it is also quite versatile and useful for fruit and vegetables. The quality feels very good, and the overall performance is excellent.

Almost perfect, just one little bit of discomfort when slicing
My first experience with a knife like this was when my hubby and I lived in China. I had bought a knife like this from a vendor and it was a total game-changer. When we moved back to the US, I wasn't able to bring it with me. I was really bummed and was determined to replace it. I found this one and the reviews seemed pretty good, so I bought it. Now, bear in mind that my immediate and natural tendency was to compare it to the perfect one that I'd had to leave behind in Beijing. This one --- it's ok. I mean, it cuts well and is really easy to control. The only thing I don't like about it is the little curved place hear the tip. When you are cutting, this little curved place is an ideal place for you to use your opposite hand (I use my left thumb) to help apply even pressure from both sides. My old one (the one I had to abandon) was very comfortable becs it seems that the metal was somewhat rounded so it didn't feel uncomfortable when you were pressing down. But this one --- the top edge seems to be a little more square, the edges a little more severe, so it is marginally uncomfortable when you're pressing down. It's a small thing, true. But if you are cutting a lot of cheese like for a party tray or big dinner or something, it could start hurting after a bit. But if you are just cutting a few pieces for a sandwich or recipe or something, then this is just fine. It's 2 minutes out of your life that won't matter. Overall, I'm glad I bought it and I'm happy with it. That one little thing is the only thing I'd change about the design.

Great for the price!
For the price itโs great. It flexes a bit but isnโt flimsy like some of the reviews say. It cuts even thin slices of cheddar well. Very satisfied for the price.

Works well
Works well. The holes in the blade keep the cheese slices from sticking and breaking. Super sharp and quality made.

Who knew????
I was not aware that life required a cheese knife, but now I understand. This cuts through a block of cheese like buttah.... Not bad on a tomato, either. (Where I live, they're still coming out of the garden in January.) Buying more for family who recently moved to Wisconsin where I assume they'll be slicing a lot of cheese.

Very good cheese knife
Sharp, thin, and cuts easily. Even softer cheeses don't really stick to the blade too badly. My only complaint is that the cutting edge is not sharpened symmetrically, so the knife always wants to turn hard to one side. But no big deal; just have to steer it the other way.
