IT WORKS, BUT...
This is a quick run down for those of you interested in the Pros and Cons I found with this item;Pros:Accommodates thicker than average dining room tables. The average kit/net supports tables up to 1.75" thick, this kit will support a minimum of 0.5" up to a maximum of 2.50" thick. The net width is 62.25" wide, but can be used at shorter widths by rolling the net around the attachment polls on one or both ends.Four paddles included vs. the standard two.Cons:The metal brackets are stamped from metal sheets and bent with no finishing. The edges are SHARP, and have not been burnished smooth. They can cut your hand, or scratch your table. The screws provided to attach the net bracket to the table clamps are very short, and difficult to screw in or out. Again, a cut and finish issue. The metal clamps have no foam rubber padding. They WILL ruin the finish on your table if attached without either gluing some on yourself, or putting a thick cloth in between the clamp and the table. The paddles came with multiple compression indentations in the foam rubber from packaging, which even after being unpackaged for a few days did not return to its original shape. It affects the trajectory of the ball. The finish on the paddles was simply okay. The handles had some rough edges, and drips/runs in the lacquer finish. If you're just looking for something cheap that works, then here you go. This review is simply to help someone be more aware of exactly what to expect. Hopefully it helps future purchasers.

Just buy it
I wanted to add to my game room so I made a ping pong table top for my pool table. I went to a local sports store and was disapointed with how expensive the paddles were and the Net which was sold separatly at an equally high price. I almost bought the stuff at the sports store because...of the instant gratification and I thought these might be crap. I'm glad I bought these from Amazon... the net is perfect, It has all metal fasteners which go on in seconds. You can roll the net around the female peice before sliding it onto the male prongs to accommodate smaller than official sized tables. The paddles are traditional style wood with foam padding layer and topped with rubber skin with raised dots. You can't go wrong with this purchase, even if you wanted to spend $25- $75 dollars on those super most awsome "pair" of paddles at the sports store, these would be good as extras. I have them as my only paddles and they're fun and made well enough. Money does by happiness so don't spend it on super most awesome paddles unless you're playing in some tournament.

Surprisingly Good
At this price, I had pretty low expectations, but I'm pleasantly surprised with this product. We're not hardcore table tennis players, so for family fun, this set definitely does the trick. The net posts are a bit mickey mouse (no offense, Mickey), but I was able to set them up so that they function just fine.I'd suggest getting some 3-star balls, however, and give the included 1-star balls to the cat.

It works well and can easily be adjusted
We made a make-shift homemade ping pong table by putting a piece of wood over dining room table and then attaching this net. It works well and can easily be adjusted. We keep this and the paddles year round in our garage and everything has held up very well. Cheap way to make a good ping pong table!

Paddle Quality
The paddles (wood portion) are well constructed overall, however, the rubber surface came loose on two paddles after only playing with them for a few days. I had some clear Liquid Nails Adhesive in a tube and put a little bit of that between the rubber and the wood. I imagine any glue or adhesive safe for rubber would also work. No problems since.

Great paddles, fair net.
The paddles are the best part of this deal. The paddles are solid and basic. They've held up in the few months I've had them so far. We ended up buying a separate net with clips, as this net is difficult to take on and off the table. Our ping pong table folds up for storage, so having an easy-to-put-up net is key.

good entry level set for the beginner
For a beginner or for just playing around these are decent for what you are paying for. If you want durability and a softer paddle then spend the money and get something a bit more advanced - but for the average family and friend use these do the job for a good price.

Why not?
Look, it's not expensive. It's not labeled 'professional.' The Chinese National players would not be amused by this set. Having said that, this set is great for middle-class husband vs. wife tournaments in the basement after the kiddos go to sleep. The net serves it's purpose and the metal supports hold very well. The paddle surfaces are nice, but the black edging is just a sticker which will be gone once the kids get a hold of it. For the price, I think it was a good deal. Would buy again for my not-near-even-a-semi-pro use.
